I know this topic is going to receive the usual non funny gags/jokes but does every other topic have to be sabotaged by quite frankly pathetic attempts at humor.
I love a joke as much as the next man but I also like the to read well put and informative posts and topics from other Fulham fans.
It's almost like some users are just commenting on anything just to increase thier post count!
its been mentioned before, I can think of one culprit in particular :031:

Sounds like censorship to me, but hey what do I know?
But if you want a serious in depth debate about Fulham/Football I'm your man.
Now was that funny enough for you.

Nobody forces us to listen to those recorded calls about a mysterious car accident we apparently had last year and the personal injury claim we can make, but is there anyone here who doesn't get annoyed by them? There's also a rule against that already - the criminal offence of harassment
Annoyance is a process of thought, so I suggest you don't think about it.

You'd know. Your post count has gone up 2% just on this thread. You seem rattled by something. Relax - whilst most of your posts are pointless they are at least few in number so I doubt you were the OP's intended target.

I know the feeling, decisions decisions. But my advice is to leave the ignore button in the safe, as you may miss something really interesting and important, we still live in a democracy, and everybody has something interesting to say at some stage, and if there is something that you find not to your taste, ignore it, and look the other way, I have eventually learnt to do that more or less. I find that eating leaves and Foliage and the occasional Ant Eater has made me more tranquil.

Drunk to much today i'm totally Pyongyanged.
Autocracy as defined in the English Oxford Collins Dictionary is....Dictatorship, one person controlling a group of people. Governed by a single individual having unlimited power.
Tyranny, Despotism, Absolutism.
The righteous rise
Quiet in conscience, calm in their right
Confident their ways are best.........
and those who know what's best for us
Must rise and save us from ourselves.........
Quick to judge
Slow to understand
Ignorance and prejudice
And fear walk hand in hand... :048:
Someone keeps deleting my calm and inoffensive posts. I wonder if the enforcer who is indeed superior and aware of the rules i am breaking, please explain why. I'd hate to do it again.

Quite rightly said. Some of the shenanigans we have seen from the various boards and owners over the decades might even intimate the joke is on us to keep supporting! Though, such miscreants are likely well aware, we support our club through thick and thin, and they are mere caretakers of the club and it's name, not the be-all and end-all.

As Einstien said: No humour = No enlightenment
I think everyone who sympathizes with the OP has a particular "burr in the saddle" in mind. Each of us has the ability to block any posters comments. I've used this to keep my blood pressure low. The site's doo-dahs also allow me to override my own ban if there exists a chance that a particular comment might actually be of interest to me.
For the folk on my "ignore" list, I'd say that for every 75 or so posts that are permanently ignored, there's one or two that I look at in hopes that it might contain something intelligent, insightful, and contributory. I DO find them and am the better for it when I do.
So, you don't need the MODs to ban folks; you can do it yourself.
The issue isn't people having a laugh on here and making attempts at humour. Let's face it, if you can't laugh as a Fulham Fan then there's not much hope for any of us.
But there's a time and a place for the silly stuff, the sarcastic stuff, the banter. Sometimes the art of someone who is funny is that they have the talent for assessing the appropriate moment to act the clown or pull out the one liner. Unfortunately sometimes this isn't the case and debates are drowned out by irrelevant desperate behaviour to get a few laughs.
Fulham is a fun place, a wonderful place to spend my weekends. But not all debates and conversations need to be taken over by nonsense at 100mph.
It's about balance at the end of the day. Unfortunately certain people have been asked several times to tone it down but if it hasn't improved then the only way to stop it is to ban them. Then you get criticism for dictating blah blah blah. The wide range of characters and people that visit this site make it impossible to create a balance that pleases everyone. So you can't win but the majority are fantastic and make FOF a great place to discuss Fulham. The ones that disagree and think elsewhere is better are entitled to their opinion but it's a wonder why they are still posting here instead. :023:
Keep up the good work 99% of you. Or I'll bar ya...... :dead horse: 051

Yes we are all Fulham fans and Fulham is a wonderful family club. A charming club. Unfortunately sometimes subjects away from Fulham are so opinionated that it isn't worth the hassle of entertaining them. Politics, religion etc. Maybe some think it's frustrating but being bluntly honest we (the mods) don't really care if that's frustrating. This is a Fulham forum and imo we aren't dictators or strict. We also don't bad mouth other forums and criticise the way they do things and I've certainly never called another Fulham supporter a 'weirdo' although looking back there have been a few, especially when getting the coach. Prefer the train for away games now!
Moderating is a very difficult job. It's very difficult to be completely fair because it can't be monitored 24/7, so some people get away with it which is not our intention. I think for someone with 4 posts in 2 years to be so opinionated about the moderating policy doesn't strike me as someone who is being fair with us to start with.
People outside of fof get this opinion of an fof mod and think it's Gospel to the way all mods conduct themselves. These are great people, proper Fulham fans, we run fof because we love Fulham and interacting with fellow supporters. I've never banned a member, never given a final written warning before. In fact I don't recall many who have by any of the mods. My attitude to moderating is to show people I'm one of them, not superior, not smarter or a better fan. We are all the same.
But without rules, I don't think this would be a family orientated forum and like it or not, that's what we want to be
This forum is going places, doesn't mean others aren't too but in general I'd like to think the fofers are happy. If it's gone backwards in the last 2 years it must all be my fault lol
