Some disbelief on another thread that The Pretty Things are still going...
Here is the proof! My ears are still ringing. Great night 🙂

:wow: Dick Taylor looked old even in the 70s! I used to think he was 20 years older than the rest of the band!
Last time I saw them was 10 years ago when they did a semi acoustic tour with Arthur Brown (Crazy World of...). Arthur Brown was incredible but the acoustic format wasn't ideal for The Pretty Things. Judging from that clip they actually look a lot sharper today!
Thanks for sharing!

Gosh sorry! I just tried to find a host for the video that would let me post the video!
Was definitely working when I first posted it and seems the first responder didn't have any issues either. Maybe you clicked an advert?
Anyway I have removed the link for now just in case and will go back to the drawing board with how to post it.
New link up - it's Tinypic which is normally fine for me! Anyway there's a picture up too 🙂
I bought their first LP. I think they tried to model themselves on some other group of the time called The Rolling Stones, indeed I think Dick Taylor almost became one of 'em in the very early days. Amazing that the lead singer Philip May is married to the Prime Minister.

Not sure what happened but I got one of those big warning screens saying several windos programs had been infected and all the usual threats of don't leave this screen, just ignored it and no harm down, sure you didn't mean it :001:
Great thread.
I was a huge fan back in the day - they seemed even more rebellious than the Rolling Stones, and I loved their first single, Rosalyn
And here they are still performing it last year.
Brilliant!

It was their encore song on Saturday night!
Great band! Pretty much invented the rock concept album.
Wish they'd venture over to The States, specifically Georgia.
Was Bert Weedon there ?
Great band, I saw them in the 70's opening for Status Quo at Wembley Arena.
