Title: Playing on the big stage.
Post by: ealex40 on May 16, 2018, 06:07:20 PM
I wonder how many of our team have played in front of a huge crowd before.

Tom Cairney and Kevin McDonald played for Scotland at Hampden. Mitrovic probably played in front of 50,000 at Newcastle several times and probably at Arsenal and Man United. I guess when we won in front of almost 52000 at Newcastle last season, the team weren't bothered, so hope the lads won't get stage fright on the day.

Same applies to Villa. Terry obviously has experience with large crowds, but how many others?

On more than one occasion Ream has played in front of some decent sized crowds for the USMNT.

I wonder if the song John Terry's mother is a ..........
Gets to him or does he play harder because of it?

I can't imagine either side will be bothered. I know from playing, and they are better than all of us. Once the game starts it doesn't matter - I highly doubt any of them are focused on section 423, row W, seat 15b, back of the plane, next to the lavatory.
