Maxine is normally a left side CB but was switched to LB for the last half of the season - very solid player who passes from the back , almost 94% successful pass percentage either to the DM CM or LW but the big problem is no International Games making it harder for him to get a Work Permit

Tony Khan seems to suggest he's a squad player though, but has clearly got on well with Jean Seri.

Now Augustinsson, Musacchio, mitrovic etc etc

Doesn't say contract length on the offal. Anyone know?

Great day today to make up for England's edit yesterday

Comfortable with the ball on the floor - mostly shorter passes

Would like to see us get another central defender as well. Any news on Kalas?

We have big holes at left back and at centre back, the question is which one of these positons will he fill.

I don't think he is signed as a starter, but rather as competition for Ream and cover for LB. If he is our new LB signing I'd be worried.

Both really, Id imagine as it stands that fror the first game (with Odoi suspended) we are looking at Christie, Ream, Le Marchand, Sess and then hopefully pushing Sess forward with le Marachand going to LB and Odoi as CB...

We need another Cb or maybe two - Musacchio/ Kalas?

Gives us an option also to goto three at the back with Ream central.

Looks like a Ream clone. Left CB position is set now.

Since we currently don't have a proper LB in the squad, it's good that Marchand can play there too. I could see him play LB when we are clear underdogs. Makes us more solid at the back with focus on counters.

SJ has the option now of playing McDonald at Right CB paired with Ream and Le Marchand at LB ( was switched to LB for the last half of the season )
Stefo then is the Deep Playmaker / Sweeper - Seri at LM and Cairney at RM

Fulham sign Seri and Le Marchand

Ivory Coast midfielder and French defender join the Cottagers from Nice

Fulham have completed their first signings of the summer transfer window with the acquisitions of Jean Michael Seri and Maxime Le Marchand from Nice.

Seri (pictured above left) is a 26-year-old Ivory Coast midfielder. He has signed a four-year deal with Fulham after moving for an undisclosed fee.

Over the last two Ligue 1 campaigns he came top for passes played and completed, with an accuracy rate of 90.4 per cent last term.

During that period he produced nine goals and 15 assists for Nice in the French top flight and was named in the 2016/17 Team of the Season.

"I'm delighted to be here, it's a new adventure that starts for me and I'm hoping it will all go well," Seri told Fulham's official website.

Le Marchand (pictured above right), 28, is a defender who can play on the left or in the middle and made 81 appearances for Nice over three seasons.

Fulham open their 2018/19 Premier League campaign at home to Crystal Palace on 11 August.

OGC Nice fan here.

It's been easy to like Le Marchand. Always respectfull in interview, seems like a pretty good guy. He was also a captain at Le Havre so he's at least some type of leader.

But I think this is best for everyone. Fulham need defenders, Le Marchand deserves this, and even if he was pretty much always starting, it's easy to replace him. OGC Nice already have Dante, Sarr, and Hérelle as central defenders, and this season we can't possibly go into the season with only Jallet and a terrible Soly as left back options.

I saw someone describing Le Marchand as "decent when the team is terrible, decent when the team is decent, and decent when the team is great". It's not the whole truth, but it's pretty close. He's rarely great, but he's also rarely making mistakes. Not slow, strong rather than weak (but not someone who dominates), and pretty smart.

How good he will be in Premier League? It's always difficult to say how a player translates to another league, but he should be OK for Fulham when he starts.

Not sure why a Nice fan would name themselves after Fulham legend David Elm. But I'd be happy with decent, we desperately need depth.

Sounds like Tim Ream

I mean Tim Ream the American Dream won Player's POS, Fan's POS, and FoF Player of the season. Let's give him more credit than descent.

Bearing in mind he's not exactly cost a fortune to buy, if Le Marchand puts in a solid 7/10 performance every week in the prem that that's money well spent in my opinion.

Looks like a clever signing. A potential starter and worst case he's decent cover for both CB and LB.

and I'd imagine a damn sight lot cheaper than what Chelsea value kalas at too.
