Matt Targett to sign and a new defensive midfielder - Fulham's transfer deadline day plans

Who will join the club and who could go out the exit door?

Fulham have had a great transfer window already.

The Whites are about to embark on their first Premier League campaign in four years andnthey have set up for it by making a host of top signings - Fabri, Jean-Michael Seri, Alfie Mawson, Calum Chambers (loan), Maxime Le Marchand, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Andre Schurrle (loan).

But there is sure to be more action today.

It's deadline day after all, so we asked reporter Ryan O'Donovan to look into his crystal ball and see what's going to happen today...

Who will Fulham be linked with today?

The obvious one is Matt Targett - Fulham have been after him all summer and have had a bid knocked back already in this transfer window.

They're in desperate need of a left back and the Southampton man fits the bull perfectly, but whether the Saints will allow him to leave for the Cottage is another matter.

What do the fans want?

I think most fans want a left-back and cover for the forward and central midfield positions.

At the moment Fulham only have Aleksandar Mitrovic up top, while Kevin McDonald is the only defensive midfield player in the side.

Slavisa Jokanovic, as well as the fans, will want the club to bring in recruits in all three of those positions.

What do you think will happen?

I think Fulham will get their left-back, but whether that is Targett or another name is yet to be seen. I'm not sure the defensive midfield role will be a big concern with Ibrahima Cisse able to play there, while Rui Fonte and Aboubakar Kamara can also play up top.

If Fulham get their needed left-back, it will have been a decent window.

How Fulham's deadline day could play out as Joe Bryan is set to sign at Craven Cottage

The window shuts at 5pm this evening - here's what could happen at Motspur Park today

We're well into deadline day and there is already movement on the transfer front for Fulham.

It looks like it could be a busy day at Motspur Park as Tony Khan gets last-minute deals over the line in order for the side to be set for their first Premier League season in four years, starting with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The window has been a stunning one for the Cottagers so far - eight names have joined the club, including marquee signings such as Jean-Michael Seri and Andre Schurrle as Tony Khan's ambitious strategy starts to come together.

There's room for more - Joe Bryan of Bristol City is due for a medical while further signings are still being eyed as Fulham look to add strength to their side.

Bryan looks to be the first name through the door of Motspur today, he was due to sign for Aston Villa but a U-turn on Wednesday night after Fulham's bid turned his head and he told the Championship side he would not be signing, instead heading to west London.

He will have a medical and sign on the dotted line today to plug the left back gap that Fulham have had all summer after trying to sign Matt Targett on a permanent.

That now looks like it won't happen.

Fulham have been keen on Targett all summer, but Southampton have been reluctant to sell the left back to the club and with the deadline fast approaching, at time of writing it looks unlikely the former loanee will be back at the club this summer.

There could also be a new keeper signed today too - Sergio Rico is a name that has been linked to the club in Spain and he could move to Craven Cottage on a season-long loan deal from Sevilla by the end of today.

Elsewhere, Fulham would like to add another central midfield to provide competition to Kevin McDonald.

That anchor role is key to how Slavisa Jokanovic's side play and it's an area where they are light on their feet - Ibrahima Cisse was signed last summer but hasn't been up to scratch, despite featuring in a few pre-season games this summer.

Jokanovic would also like another striker to cover for Aleksandar Mitrovic, but at the moment that looks down the priority list for the recruitment team, while a right back is also a possibility.

On the outgoings front, Tony Khan stated yesterday that Ryan Sessegnon would not be sold - that's been a stance held all summer by the club who have been keen not to sell any of their star players, much like they were in January.

Fulham still want to send some youngsters out on loan, but with the EFL loan deadline not until August 31, these moves may be pushed to the back burner while the club look for incomings to strengthen the side.

"No car chase" – Joe Bryan update with Fulham in the driving seat

The Bristol Post have reported that a deal for Joe Bryan that will see the left-back move to Fulham appears to be very much on, despite rumours he'd signed for Aston Villa last night, and was being chased down the motorway by Steve Bruce.

Supposedly a fee had been agreed between Bristol City and Aston Villa over an initial £5m deal that would have risen to £6m after various add-ons, but after the defender had completed both personal terms and a medical at Villa, he had a change of heart after a late show of interest by Premier League Fulham.

Contrary to rumours that had floated around on Twitter, the Bristol Post have confirmed that Bruce didn't chase Bryan down the M40 and the player hadn't taken photos in Villa kits – despite heavy speculation that had been the case, and the fact that he hadn't signed a contract with the club means now that he's expected to move to Fulham today, with Slavisa Jokanovic set to get his man.

Fulham have been chasing a left-back over the course of this transfer window, but they ended up with a fruitless chase for Southampton's young left-back Matt Targett; which in turn alerted them to making a move for Bristol City full-back Bryan.

Bryan has opted to play Premier League football next campaign; rather than sticking with Championship Bristol City or making a 'sideways step' to last season's play-off finalists Aston Villa, who ultimately missed out somewhat ironically to Fulham, on a place in the Premier League this season.

Joe Bryan undergoing Fulham medical after Aston Villa snub

Fulham are set to sign Joe Bryan from Bristol City this summer.

Sky Sports claims that the 24-year-old left back is set to complete his medical with the Whites this morning before finalising a £6m move.

Bryan was expected to join Aston Villa this summer but Fulham have hijacked the deal at the last minute. Bristol had accepted a bid from the Championship side and the 24-year-old was due to undergo a medical with them.

Fulham have been very active in the market this summer and Joe Bryan's signing is another impressive recruitment.

Jokanovic was in need of a starting left back and the Bristol City defender could prove to be a superb addition.

Matt Targett managed to impress as Fulham's left back last season but the player has returned to Southampton now. Therefore, the signing of Bryan was crucial for the Whites.

Fulham have signed the likes of Andre Schurrle, Alfie Mawson, Jean Michael Seri, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and Calum Chambers so far.

The fans will be expecting the Londoners to have a good season next year. Fulham will be hoping to establish themselves as a Premier League club now.

EXCLUSIVE: Southampton demand even larger fee for Fulham Targett

Southampton are demanding £20million for Matt Targett, after rejecting two bids from Fulham on Wednesday for the left-back, TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal.

The Cottagers want to bring Targett back to south-west London, after seeing him end last season on loan at the club.

The Cottagers have bid £14million, as we revealed, before returning with another £16million offer late in the day – but Southampton have so far held firm.

We understand that Fulham are set to return with another offer on deadline day, but are not confident Southampton will relent – which is why they have also made a move for Joe Bryan.

Bristol City full-back Bryan was set to join Aston Villa before Fulham made a last ditch bid, and he is now due for a medical in West London.

Fulham would happily do a deal for both players, but at the very least they will get Bryan in on deadline day.

Fulham are also looking for a holding midfielder, and are still in talks with Wolfsburg over Josuha Guilavogui and St Etienne about Ole Selves.

Four ins and outs Fulham could complete one deadline day

ulham have enjoyed a tremendously successful transfer window to date, strengthening in all departments of the pitch while bringing in impressive talents to Craven Cottage along the way.

However, the Cottagers' summer business isn't done just yet: here are four potential ins and outs that could occur at Craven Cottage today.

Joe Bryan from Bristol City

The Bristol City left back appeared set to sign for Aston Villa, but then the Whites swooped in and hijacked the deal, according to the Bristol Post.

It was a stunning turnaround– brilliant for the Premier League side while soul-crushing for the defeated play-off finalists. Fulham will acquire the services of an impressive, young British fullback in the position that needed strengthening the most, a great piece of business for the Cottagers.

In addition, Bryan will likely be purchased for far less than Southampton were asking for Matt Targett– another positive aspect of the transfer.

Hugo Mallo from Celta Vigo

Mallo will be a name that is familiar to many Fulham supporters, as the Celta Vigo right back starred for the Spanish club in the preseason friendly between the two teams on Saturday.

The defender was outstanding against Fulham, constantly finding space down the right wing and posing a constant threat in attack, as well as being solid defensively.

Sky Sports claims Fulham are interested in signing the Spanish right back, who has been capped at U-21 level for his country and has made more than 300 appearances for Celta Vigo.

Mallo would provide competition for Cyrus Christie at right back, as Fulham look to add to their fullback options following the departure of Ryan Fredericks earlier in the summer.

Andre Zambo Anguissa from Marseille

According to the Daily Mail, Marseille's central midfielder Andre Zambo Anguissa has flow into London ahead of a move to Fulham. Anguissa would satisfy Slavisa Jokanovic's desire for an assertive, box-to-box defensive midfielder.

At just 22 years of age, Anguissa has already made 11 appearances for Cameroon and was an ever-present for Marseille last campaign, notching a remarkable 56 appearances for the French club in all competitions as Marseille progressed to the Europa League final.

Possible departure: Floyd Ayite

The Togolese international has not been linked with a move away from Craven Cottage, yet with the high-calibre attacking talents the Whites have brought in, Ayite may be contemplating leaving to gain playing time.

Behind the likes of Andre Schurrle, Aboubakar Kamara, and even Neeskens Kebano in the pecking order, Ayite may be set to leave Fulham after joining in the summer of 2016.

Fulham to sign Sevilla keeper Sergio Rico on loan as Slavisa Jokanovic continues busy summer recruitment

Fulham are set to snap up highly-rated Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico on loan
The shot-stopper was looked at by Chelsea before the deal for Kepa Arrizabalaga
A key part of the Spanish side for four seasons, he won the Europa League twice
Rico has since fallen down the pecking order under new manager Pablo Machin

Fulham are set to complete a sensational coup by snapping up highly-rated Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico on loan from Sevilla.

The shot-stopper was looked at by Chelsea as they searched for Thibaut Courtois' replacement before settling on Kepa Arrizabalaga.

He was an integral part of the Spanish side for four seasons and won the Europa League twice before falling down the pecking order under new manager Pablo Machin.

Sevilla have already signed goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik from Swiss side Basel earlier this summer and that has made Rico surplus to requirements.

The youngster has already made over 150 appearances for Sevilla by the age of 24, including 40 across all competitions last season.

The deal will now spark a scramble to sign the Cottagers current No 1 Marcus Bettinelli.

Championship sides Bristol City and QPR are both keen, but it remains to be seen whether Fulham will sell.

It has so far been a busy summer of transfer activity at Craven Cottage with Rico set to become the club's seventh addition.

They have already completed deals for Jean Michael Seri, Andre Schurrle, Alfie Mawson, Calum Chambers, Maxime le Marchand and Fabri in this window.

Fulham begin the new Premier League season with a home match against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Fulham close to €30m signing of Marseille midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa

Reliable Foot Mercato journalist Dahbia Hattabi is reporting that Fulham are now set to sign central midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa from Marseille for €30m.

She claims that the player is set to actually undergo a medical in the South of France in order to save time, as he is currently in Marseille, before signing a 4-year contract with the Cottagers.

Report: Fulham confident of beating Southampton to Martin Montoya

Southampton are reportedly rivalling Brighton and Hove Albion for Spanish defender Martin Montoya, but Fulham have made a late move.

According to a report from the Daily Mail's live transfer blog (09/08; 09:19), Fulham are looking to beat former boss Mark Hughes to the signing of Martin Montoya, with the Cottagers making a late bid for the Southampton target.

Fulham have really captured the imagination with some of the business that they have done ahead of their return to the Premier League, while the Saints have enjoyed a much quieter window, with just four new signings through the door and one major departure in the form of Dusan Tadic.

It remains to be seen if any more players leave on deadline day, but it seems that Hughes is keen to get a new defender in, with the Mail reporting on its live transfer blog (09/08; 09:19) that the Saints have made a move for Montoya.

However, the report suggests that the Saints' hopes of signing Montoya appear to have suffered a setback. The Mail reported that Brighton are also interested, but Fulham have since joined the race and are now confident that they will sign the defender ahead of the Seagulls and their old boss Hughes.

Montoya featured regularly for Valencia last term, so it would appear that the Premier League pair may face a tough task trying to get a deal done for the former Barcelona ace.

But if they can get a deal done, it could arguably be a very good piece of business with Montoya capable of playing anywhere along the back four.

Southampton kick off their campaign at home to Burnley this weekend, while Fulham mark their return to the highest level with a clash against Crystal Palace. But will either side have Montoya in their ranks by that stage?

Medical in France: Fulham expected to sign €30m defensive midfielder, four-year contract

Having only signed Jean-Michael Seri from Nice to bolster their midfield, there was no chance Fulham were done in that department before the transfer deadline, and they've returned to France to do their shopping.

According to Foot Mercato 's Dahbia Hattabi, the man they are about to sign is André-Franck Zambo Anguissa from Marseille.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder emerged as one of the more regular options for Rudi Garcia last season in his midfield three, and started attracting interest from the Premier League as early as January.

However, the Ligue 1 side held on to him as they went on to reach the Europa League final, but it seems Fulham have simply offered too much for them to refuse.

The Cottagers are expected to sign Zambo Anguissa on a four-year contract and will spend €30m to acquire his services.

The midfielder should undergo his medical in Marseille, we're guessing to save some time, and Hattabi explained this is likely to go through barring any unexpected U-turns.

Slavisa Jokanovic and co. mean business.

Chelsea starlet set for Bristol City to replace Fulham-bound Joe Bryan

The latest transfer news on deadline day

Bristol City are set to sign Chelsea left-back Jay Dasilva on loan today.

The 20-year-old is highly-rated at Stamford Bridge and he impressed on loan at League One side Charlton Athletic last term.

Dasilva made 44 appearances for the Addicks, and was named their player of the year as they reached the play-off semi-finals.

He is now expected to sign up at Ashton Gate as Lee Johnson looks to replace Joe Bryan ahead of the game against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Derby County had been linked with the defender earlier in the summer but they have now signed Huddersfield Town man Scott Malone.

Bryan had looked all set to join Aston Villa after undertaking a medical at the club but a last-ditch offer now sees him heading to the Premier League with Fulham.

The 24-year-old is set to be confirmed as a Fulham player on transfer deadline day with Bristol City thought to be working hard to find his replacement.

Southampton defender Sam McQueen has also been linked with the Robins but it looks like Dasilva will be the man heading into the club on transfer deadline day.

Fulham set to sign André-Frank Zambo Anguissa

Fulham are set to sign the Cameroon midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa before the transfer window closes today.

According to Daily Mail, the defensive midfielder flew into London for talks last night.

Reports from France add that a fee has been agreed and Anguissa will undergo his medical in the South of France. Reliable French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi has confirmed the deal as well.

Apparently, Fulham will pay around €30m for the player and he will sign a long term contract with the club.

Jokanovic's side are lacking a proper defensive midfielder and Anguissa could be a terrific partner for Cairney and Seri next season.

The Cameroon international is a good reader of the game and his powerful presence will help the Whites dominate games. He will also shield the back four and allow the likes of Seri and Cairney to play in a more advanced role.

Fulham have been very active in the market this summer and the fans will be expecting an impressive season next year.

The Londoners will be expected to fight for a top ten finish after the window they have had. The Cottagers have signed the likes of Schurrle, Mawson, Seri, Mitrovic and Chambers so far. They are expected to complete a move for Joe Bryan as well.

Anguissa agrees Fulham move

Fulham have reached an agreement with Marseille midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa over a move to the Premier League, according to reports in France this morning.

The Whites held extensive talks with the Cameroonian international and his representatives and have agreed a long-term contract with the holding midfielder. It is believed that the fee for the 22 year-old will be in the region of £26m and Anguissa will have a medical in Marseille later today.

The powerful midfielder, who has won eleven caps for his country, has enjoyed a whirlwind two years in the south of France after being brought in from Reims. He was a key part of the Marseille side that reached last season's Europa League final – where they were beaten by Atletico Madrid – and has told the French press that he has carefully modelled his game on that of former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.

The deal was struck after head coach Slavisa Jokanovic made clear he needed another defensive midfielder to challenge Scottish international Kevin McDonald, one of Fulham's key players in their promotion from the Championship, as they prepare to return to the top flight this season. It follows Fulham's breaking of their transfer record to bring in Ivorian international Jean-Michael Seri from Nice earlier in the summer.

Matt Targett to Fulham: Southampton reject huge £15m bid from Cottagers for young left-back

The 22-year-old, who starred for Fulham on loamn in the Championship last season, is highly rated by the Saints

Southampton have today rejected a massive late bid from Fulham for defender Matt Targett.

Mirror Football understands promoted Fulham have tabled a £15million deal, plus add-ons, for the left-back.

Ex-England U21 starlet Targett, 22, starred on loan for Fulham in the Championship last term as he helped them to promotion after joining in January and making 21 appearances.

The Cottagers have tried to buy the ex-Saints trainee permanently this summer but have now seen multiple bids rejected, including this latest huge offer.

Fulham are also in talks to sign left-back Joe Bryan from Bristol City after coming in late for him when he had agreed to go to Aston Villa for a medical.

Who is Sergio Rico? The keeper Chelsea were linked with who could move to Fulham

Here's everything you need to know about the latest keeper linked with a move to Fulham

Fulham look like they could be adding a new keeper to their ranks today, with Sevilla keeper Sergio Rico the latest name linked to the club.

The 24-year-old was linked with a move to west London neighbours as they looked to replace Thibaut Courtois after his move to Real Madrid, but instead plumped for Athletic Bilbao stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga in a world-record deal for a goalkeeper.

Fulham have already added Fabri to the side this summer, securing his signature from Besiktas in a £5million move and now could add Rico on a season-long loan move.

We've taken a look at who the potential new signing is.

Career so far

Rico has only ever played for Sevilla - starting his career with them as a youngster and spent the early stages of his career with the B team, playing in the second division.

He made his first team debut in 2014 in a 2-0 win over Getafe in La Liga and then appeared in the Europa League four days later, keeping another clean sheet in a 2-0 victory over Feyenoord.

He's won the Europa League twice with Sevilla, although the third campaign saw Rico replaced by fellow youth graduate David Soria.

Sergio Rico (Image: Clive Mason/Getty Images)

Stats behind his season

He's already made over 150 appearances for Sevilla having come through the side's youth team and kept 13 clean sheets last season in all competitions.

He appeared in the Champions League and La Liga, making 38 appearances in total but has fallen down the pecking order at his boyhood club.

His last appearance came at the end of March against Barcelona, where a 2-2 draw saw Rico go through a run of conceding seven goals in four matches.

Is he an international?

He was called up to the Spain side in 2015 for the friendlies against Costa Rica and Euro 2016 qualifying Belarus but didn't play.

He was named as third choice keeper for the tournament and made his debut for his country against South Korea ahead of the Euros.

What's been said about a move?

Reports in Spain claim that the keeper will join on a season-long loan deal after falling down the pecking order at Sevilla, and that looks set to go through today.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail claim this move could cause Marcus Bettinelli to move on.

Report: Fulham in talks with Selnaes and Guilavogui; plan bid for £20m-rated talent

Premier League newcomers Fulham are set for a busy transfer deadline day with Southampton's Matt Targett still allegedly on the agenda.

In quite remarkable circumstances, Fulham appear to have won the race for Joe Bryan.

According to Bristol Live, Aston Villa had agreed a £5 million fee with Bristol City for the left-back, with the 24-year-old then undergoing a medical and agreeing personal terms. But, at the eleventh hour, Fulham allegedly swooped in and Bryan is now set for Craven Cottage.

But this does not necessarily mean that Matt Targett will not return to West London before Thursday's transfer deadline.

TEAMtalk are reporting that Fulham turned to Bryan with Southampton playing hardball over the 22-year-old's future. But Slavisa Jokanovic would happily have both left-backs in his ranks and the Cottagers are set to make another bid for Targett today.

But Fulham would have to pay £20 million now for a player who impressed on loan at the club between January and May last season. They reportedly had two bids rejected on Wednesday, £14 and £16 million, and will now have to pay a bigger fee than they perhaps ever expected.

TEAMtalk adds that Fulham are also looking for a defensive midfielder to provide support to Kevin McDonald. They are allegedly in talks with St Etienne's Norwegian international Ole Selnaes and Wolfsburg powerhouse Joshua Guilavogui.

Fulham close to deadline day deal, medical planned, Aston Villa impacted

Fulham are closing in on the signing of Bristol City defender Joe Bryan from under the noses of Aston Villa before the transfer deadline, according to Sky Sports sources.

The 24-year-old is due at Craven Cottage today for a medical, in a move which will strengthen the Premier League newcomers' back four.

The news of the Fulham move comes just one day after Bryan was due at Aston Villa for a medical, however the left-back snubbed a move to the Championship club for the lure of top flight football.

He has featured 230 times for Bristol City since making the step-up from the club's youth set-up, scoring 20 times.

Seven of those goals came last campaign, including three goals in four games during December. His most memorable moment came in an EFL Cup victory over Manchester United, scoring in the 2-1 giant-killing.

Fulham are looking to build a squad strong enough to survive the drop, after returning to the Premier League via a play-off final triumph.

The signing of Bryan will be a smart move, and their ability to attract players due to top flight status could see more than one new face arrive at Craven Cottage before 5pm.

Slavisa Jokanović is also targeting a right-back and a defensive midfielder, but Fulham are running out of time to get the deals over the line.

Villa meanwhile will be kicking themselves as Bryan has proven himself at Championship level and he would have been a shrewd addition for Steve Bruce's men.

Exclusive: Fulham confident of beating Southampton to signing of 27-y/o

Fulham are confident of success with a beat-the-deadline move to fend off Premier League rivals Southampton and Brighton for Valencia defender Martin Montoya, Football Insider sources understands.

All three Premier League clubs are looking to bring in a new right-back before the close of the transfer window closes on Thursday and they have targeted a move for former Barcelona defender Montoya.

Montoya has been pushed down the pecking order at Valencia following the arrival of Cristiano Piccini to the Mestalla this summer.

Valencia are prepared to listen to offers for the 27-year-old and Fulham are in pole position to land Montoya despite interest from Real Betis to keep him in Spain.

Montoya came through the famous Barcelona La Masia academy and spent five years in the Barca first-team before leaving for Valencia in 2016.

Fulham are set to be one of the busiest clubs on deadline day and have also lined up deals for Bristol City's Joe Bryan and Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico.

Fulham set to bolster midfield with signing of Marseille's Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa

Fulham look to make another audacious signing with the signing of Anguissa from Marseille

Fulham look set to add to their midfield with the signing of Marseille's Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

Reports in France have claimed that the 22-year-old will have his medical in France ahead of a reported €30million move to west London as the Whites continue their impressive summer transfer window.

Slavisa Jokanovic had stressed the need for strength in depth in midfield, particularly the defensive area, and it looks like Tony Khan has found a new man to bolster their options in the middle ahead of the Premier League season.

Foot Mercato report, via Get French Football News, that the Cameroon midfielder will sign a four-year deal at Craven Cottage ahead of the 5pm deadline this evening.

He joined Marseille in 2015 from fellow French outfit Stade De Reims and has made over 70 appearances for the south French side, featuring in the Europa League final against Atletico Madrid last season.

Having already signed Jean-Michael Seri from Nice, this represents yet another ambitious move for Tony Khan and the side's recruitment team ahead of their return to the Premier League.

Anguissa will join the likes of Andre Schurrle, Aleksandar Mitrovic and potential new signings Serio Rico in west London this season as Tony Khan looks to build a team not only capable of staying in the top flight, but one able to cause some upsets whilst doing so.

Meanwhile, as well as the loan signing of Sergio Rico, Joe Bryan is set to be announced as a Fulham player after a last-minute bid saw him reject an offer from Aston Villa to join the Cottagers.

Bristol City and QPR want Championship play-off winning goalkeeper

It is being reported by the Daily Mail that Sky Bet Championship duo Bristol City and Queens Park Rangers are interested in Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli. Whilst he was first choice under Slavisa Jokanovic last season, he is unlikely to be this season after signing a new goalkeeper, and another may follow.

The question now is if Fulham are indeed prepared to sell the player. Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico is primed to complete a deadline day switch to Craven Cottage. Fabri has already signed from Besiktas, which highlights the fact Jokanovic felt the goalkeeping situation could be drastically improved at the club. Bettinelli surely won't be happy to be a sub, at best, in the season to come.

Dropping down into the Sky Bet Championship again may seem a backward step in one regard, but quite simply, he would play more. In the case of Bristol City, they are missing current first choice Frank Fielding long-term through injury, and wouldn't say no to adding the former England Under-21 international to their ranks at Ashton Gate. Queens Park Rangers have only made one signing this summer, and lost key keeper Alex Smithies earlier in the window. Michael Ingram started the season between the sticks, but he is inexperienced at Sky Bet Championship level.

It is likely to be a situation that will rumble right until the 5pm deadline. Quite possibly, other clubs in the English second tier could declare their interest in the player, who has a promotion out of this division on his CV, when winning the play-off last season.

Fulham to sign Sergio Rico?

Fulham are reportedly close to signing Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico.

The 24-year-old was mooted as a potential target for Chelsea, before the Blues bought Kepa Arrizabalaga from Atletic Bilbao in a world-record £71m deal.

According to the Daily Mail, Fulham are now interested in swooping for the stopper, who has featured over 150 times for his current employers.

The newspaper says that Rico, who is surplus to requirements at Sevilla after the club signed Tomas Vaclik from Basel, would be open to a switch to the Premier League with a chance of more minutes.

Rico is a two-time Europa League winner in his time with Sevilla.

Newly-promoted Fulham have sent a medical team to Marseille in a bid to rush through the signing of Andre Franck Zambo Anguissa.

Sportsmail exclusively revealed on Wednesday that the Cameroon international was in talks over a £25million deal to the Craven Cottage club and was due to fly in to London.

However, with Anguissa struggling to make connections, Fulham took the initiative to send a delegation to the south of France where the 22-year-old is undergoing his medical ahead of signing today.

Fulham are in the process of signing midfielder Andre Franck Zambo Anguissa from Marseille

In what will be a five-year contract, the central midfielder has earned 79 appearances for the Ligue 1 side since he joined from Stade de Reims in 2015.

He has also earnt 11 caps for Cameroon and made his debut for his country in a 1-0 win over Tunisia in a friendly match in March 2017.

Standing at six-foot exactly, his stand-out ability is still his physicality, but he is also comfortable with the ball at his feet as well as drive forward.

Slaviša Jokanović's men face Crystal Palace on their return to the Premier League on Saturday

Slaviša Jokanović's side have so far been one of the busiest clubs during this current transfer window which ends today.

They have so far acquired Jean Michael Seri, Maxime Le Marchand, Fabricio Agosto Ramirez, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Alfie Mawson and Calum Chambers.

German international Andre Schurrle has also joined a two-season long loan from Borussia Dortmund.

Fulham make their return to Premier League action this Saturday in front of their home crowd at Craven Cottage against fellow Londoners, Crystal Palace.

Not only will it be Fulham's first game in the top flight for four years, coincidentally it will be against the team they last faced in the Premier League back in May 2014.

Southampton 'reject £15m Fulham bid for Matt Targett'

Southampton have reportedly rejected a £15m bid from Fulham for full-back Matt Targett.

The defender spent last season on loan at the Cottagers, scoring one goal and assisting two others as Slavisa Jokanovic's men sealed a return to the Premier League.

The Mirror reports that Fulham, who have been tracking the Englishman all summer ahead of a potential return to West London, have been knocked back with their latest attempt.

According to the newspaper, Southampton see Targett as a key player in their team this season and are prepared to hold off further competition from their Premier League rivals before the transfer deadline.

Targett, who has been on the south coast since turning professional, has appeared 27 times in the top flight to date.

Fulham close in on Marseille youngster

Fulham are closing in on the signing of Marseille midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, according to Get French Football News.

The 22-year-old established himself as a key man for the French side last term having made 22 league starts for Marseille and 11 appearances on their way to the Europa League final.

However, the Cottagers, who have spent well this summer already, are prepared to raid Ligue 1 once more for Anguissa.

Jean Michael Seri and Maxime Le Marchand have already swapped the south of France for London this summer.

The youngster is set to undergo a medical in the south of France to save time and is set to put pen to paper on a four-year deal, with this transfer worth following on Transfer Hound.

Anguissa made 2.7 interceptions per 90 in France's top tier last term to reinforce a statistically calculated WhoScored strength of 'ball interception'.

Fulham have already made significant additions to the squad this summer in the form of Seri, Le Marchand, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Andre Schurrle, Alfie Mawson, Fabri and Calum Chambers.

Fulham hoping to conclude deal for Marseille's Andre Zambo Anguissa

Fulham are hoping to conclude a deadline-day deal for Marseille midfielder Andre Zambo Anguissa, according to Sky sources.

The Whites have been after a new defensive midfielder and Anguissa was one of the highest statistical performers in his position in France last season.

The 22-year-old made 37 appearances in Ligue 1 last term and helped Marseille reach the Europa League final.

Fulham had been interested in Wolfsburg's Josuha Guilavogui.

The west London club are also giving a medical to Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan on Thursday morning, according to Sky sources.

Fulham have already completed deals for Fabri, Maxime Le Marchand, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Alfie Mawson, Andre Schurrle and Jean Michael Seri this summer.

Report: Hugo Mallo rejects Fulham move after £9m Cottagers bid

Premier League newcomers Fulham look set to be disappointed in their reported pursuit of the La Liga right-back Hugo Mallo.

There has been so much focus on Fulham's pursuit of a left-back this summer that the need for a Ryan Fredericks replacement has almost gone under the radar.

But, while the Cottagers look to have landed Bristol City's Joe Bryan to reinforce the left side of their defence, their attempts to bring a new right-back to West London appear to be proving a little more problematic on transfer deadline day.

Marca claimed on Wednesday that Fulham had made a £9 million bid to sign the Celta Vigo captain Hugo Mallo.

But, while the Cottagers have enjoyed great success in the transfer window this summer, Mallo looks like one player who will not be on his way.

It is reported by the Sun that the 27-year-old has rejected the chance to move to Craven Cottage and will now sign a new and improved contract with Celta Vigo. The former Spain U21 international has spent his entire career with the Balaidos, making over 300 appearances, and it seems that he has no interest in leaving just yet.

This will be a major boost for Celta, who still face up to losing Slovakian midfielder Stanislav Lobotka and Uruguayan striker Maxi Gomez to Premier League clubs on Thursday.

Fulham hold Montoya talks

Fulham are in discussions with Valencia over a possible deal to sign their Catalonian right back Martin Montoya.

The Whites are confident of seeing off concerted interest in the former Barcelona full back from Premier League rivals Southampton and Brighton and Hove Albion. Montoya, who won the Champions' League before moving to Valencia two years ago, has slipped down the pecking order at the Mestella after his current club signed Cristiano Piccini to be their first-choice right back.

Fulham head coach Slavisa Jokanovic is keen to sign another right back after losing Ryan Fredericks to West Ham earlier this summer and he only has youth team graduates Steven Sessegnon and Marlon Fossey as possible understudies to Irish international Cyrus Christie. Montoya has made 54 appearances in his two seasons with Valencia and is reportedly attracted by the idea of a move to London, although there is still significant Spanish interest in his services as well.

The 27 year-old won seven major titles in his time at Barcelona and has previously spent time on loan at Inter Milan and Real Betis, who are apparently considering a late move to sign him for a second time.

Fulham have entered talks with Valencia for defender Martin Montoya

Fulham have entered talks with Valencia for the signing of right-back Martin Montoya, according to Sky sources.

Montoya, 27, signed for Valencia in 2016 and has made 52 appearances for the club, scoring twice.

He has represented Spain at youth levels, from U17 through to U23, but has not made a senior appearance.

FEATURE | What can Fulham expect from André Frank Zambo Anguissa?

Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa is on the verge of a stunning move to the Premier League with Fulham for €30m. The soon to be former OM man would represent insane value for the Europa League finalists who initially scooped him from under the radar in Reims' reserve team for less than £500,000 back in 2015.

The Cameroonian international has clearly developed leaps and bounds over the last three seasons, having gone from a player expected to feature on the periphery, to an undisputed starter and a fully-fledged international for the current African champions. Zambo Anguissa is a powerful midfielder used deep in Rudi Garcia's 4-2-3-1 formation. His tenacity in the middle of the park alongside stalwart Luiz Gustavo has helped OM nullify attacks and create fast turnovers of play going forward.

His movement across the defence has enabled him to cover the defence well. While defensively strong, from time to time ball control and pin-point passing could be an issue in the rough and tumble of the Premier League, a fact enlarged by his major mistake in May's UEFA Europa League final that allowed Atletico to open the scoring.

Many in Marseille appreciate a player who has performed nonetheless exceedingly well, particularly in 2017-18's satisfactory campaign. But with the figure that has been touted, it's safe to say Marseille will take the deal and run.

M.A.

Rico nearing Fulham move

Former Watford target Sergio Rico is on the verge of making a loan move to Fulham from Sevilla.

Watford had been rumoured to be weighing up an approach for the keeper earlier this summer as they searched for a long-term number one to replace Heurelho Gomes.

Any chance of them continuing to pursue the Spaniard all but ended when Watford completed the signing of Ben Foster from West Bromwich Albion.

Now Rico is close to making the move to England with Fulham as their summer revamp continues at pace before today's 5pm deadline.

Sevilla have been eager to shift Rico on for much of the summer, with the 24-year-old keen to secure regular first-team football after falling down the pecking order at the La Liga side.

Olympiacos eye Fonte move

Olympiacos could be in line to offer Rui Fonte a deadline-day move away from Fulham, according to reports this morning.

The Greek club are discussing the possibility of a loan move or permanent deal for the Portuguese striker, who has struggled to make an impact in England since arriving from Braga last summer. Fulham have given Fonte permission to hold talks with Olympiacos just two days before their Premier League season kicks off against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The 28 year-old came to Fulham with some fanfare after scoring fifteen goals to help Braga to a fifth-place finish, but struggled to replicate that form in the Championship – despite scoring on his second appearance for the Whites, in a 2-0 win at Ipswich Town. Fonte finished the season largely being utilised as a substitute by Slavisa Jokanovic with three goals in 28 appearances.

He has won 22 caps for Portugal, scoring eight times at senior international level, and won both the Portuguese League Cup and the Portuguese Cup during his time at Braga. The Evening Standard suggests that Fulham are stepping up their attempts to sign back up to Aleksandar Mitrovic as they prepare for Fonte's possible departure. It is unlikely that the Londoners will receive anything close to the more than £8m they paid for Fonte last year.

QPR keen on Bettinelli

Queens Park Rangers are eager to sign Marcus Bettinelli should the goalkeeper be allowed to leave Fulham following the arrival of Sergio Rico, according to the Daily Mail.

The former England under-21 international had an excellent second half of the season as Fulham went on a 23-match unbeaten run to win promotion via the Championship play-offs. Bettinelli kept a clean sheet as the Whites beat Aston Villa at Wembley, but he was swiftly usurped in the pecking order at Craven Cottage when Fulham brought in Spanish custodian Fabri from Besiktas.

The Fulham academy graduate looks set to slip further down the list of Slavisa Jokanovic's goalkeeping options when Rico completes a loan move from Sevilla, which was widely trailed in the Spanish press yesterday. The 26 year-old, who signed a contract extension with the Whites last summer, has made 98 first-team appearances since making his Fulham debut in the League Cup win at Brentford in August 2014.

QPR are looking for an experienced Championship goalkeeper having sold Alex Smithies earlier this summer, although Bettinelli is also rumoured to be interesting Bristol City, who have previously offered him a loan route out of Craven Cottage when he was second choice to Button two years ago. The likeable goalkeeper has twice turned down a possible switch to Chelsea in order to compete for his place at Fulham and recently spoke of his excitement at the chance to play in the Premier League, but could be persuaded to move on for regular first-team football.

Sevilla keeper nears Fulham switch

Fulham are expected to complete a deal to bring Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico to Craven Cottage before the English transfer window closes.

According to AS, the Premier League new boys are close to agreeing a season-long loan arrangement for the 24-year-old, with the Andalusians happy to let Rico depart the Sanchez Pizjuan following the recent capture of Tomas Vaclik from Basel.

Sevilla-born Rico is a two-time Europa League winner and has made 114 La Liga appearances for his hometown club, including 40 in all competitions last term.

Fulham closing in on Sergio Rico loan signing

Fulham are in advanced talks with Sevilla over a loan deal for goalkeeper Sergio Rico, according to Sky sources.

The 24-year-old is highly rated but lost his position as first choice at Sevilla last season.

He was reportedly interesting several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea - before the Blues completed a deal for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

But he is now set to join a different west London club and is poised to battle with Fabri, who has been signed from Besiktas, and incumbent Marcus Bettinelli, for the No 1 jersey at Craven Cottage.

Fulham confident of signing Valencia defender Martin Montoya

Southampton and Brighton have been reportedly chasing Valencia defender Martin Montoya, but Premier League newcomer Fulham have made a late move to sign the Spaniard.

According to a report from the Daily Mail (transfer live blog, 09/08/2017 – 09:19), Fulham have made a late move for Montoya, and the Cottagers are 'confident' of signing him.

Southampton have had a relatively quiet transfer window but it appears the Saints have made a move for the former Barcelona defender.

However, they face a major upset here, as the report suggests that Fulham have made a late move and they are confident of sealing the deal.

The Spaniard would be an excellent signing for Jokanovic

Slavisa Jokanovic has assembled a very good squad as Fulham mark their return to the Premier League with a clash against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Fulham have made seven signings already, including some eye catchy names like Alfie Mawson, Andre Schurrle, and Jean Michael Seri, and are looking for more additions on the transfer deadline day.

Montoya is an experienced defender and has been a regular starter for Valencia since he joined the club in 2016. It would represent a superb piece of business if Fulham can agree to a deal as Montoya is capable of playing anywhere along the back four.

Leicester City player adds weight to claims former teammate signing for Fulham

On August 8th, Cadena SER journalist Yago de Vega reported that Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico will join Fulham on a season-long loan deal.

The newly promoted Premier League club have already completed the signing of Fabricio Agosto Ramírez, simply known as Fabri, from Besiktas on a three-year deal in July.

Leicester City signed Vicente Iborra from Sevilla last summer and the midfielder has now pretty much confirmed that Rico will move to the Premier League. During an interview with El Partidazo de Cope, the Foxes player was asked about his former teammates in England and that is when he said the 24-year-old will leave Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

"Here, I have a relationship with Alberto Moreno, Sergio Rico, who will come here and with the rest of the Spaniards, that whenever I see, I talk to them," Iborra said, as quoted by Estadio Deportivo.

It is also claimed that Rico already has his bags packed in order to make a switch to Fulham, where he will compete with his compatriot, Fabri, for a place in the starting lineup.

Report: £9m Fulham flop Rui Fonte in talks with Olympiakos

It looks likely that Rui Fonte is on his way out of Premier League newcomers Fulham after just one season at Craven Cottage

Rui Fonte seems a little surplus to requirements at Fulham at the moment.

Big things were expected when the forward arrived at Craven Cottage from Braga last summer for £9 million but he proved to be a disappointment in west London. Fonte managed just three goals in 27 Championship appearances despite averaging almost a one-in-two ratio in the Primeira Liga in 2016/17.

And after the signings of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Andre Schurrle, the 28-year-old appears to have slipped down the pecking order as Fulham prepare for life back in the Premier League.

The Standard is reporting that Fonte is now in talks with Olympiakos ahead of a deadline-day move away from Fulham. The Greek giants have discussed signing him either on loan or on a permanent basis as they aim to wrestle the Super League crown back from AEK Athens.

Fonte started his career in the Arsenal reserves and featured 10 times on loan at Crystal Palace in 2009 without scoring a goal. And it seems that his second spell in England is coming to an end too.

Fonte is not the only Fulham player being linked with a move away on Thursday. The Mail (live blog, 9.12am) claims that QPR and Bristol City want goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.

Fulham discussing deal to sign Atletico Madrid winger Oscar Pinchi — despite arriving at the Metropolitano only one month ago

Oscar Pinchi could be moving to Craven Cottage from Atletico Madrid
The winger only joined Atletico from Deportivo last month to play for the B team
Fulham are reportedly eyeing up several potential deadline day deals

Fulham are discussing a deal for Atletico Madrid winger Oscar Pinchi.

The 22-year-old only joined Atletico from Deportivo earlier this summer and played against Arsenal in Atletico's International Cup win in July.

He was originally signed by Atletico to help their B team get into the Segunda Division but is due at Fulham today.

Atletico Madrid winger Oscar Pinchi could be joining Fulham on transfer deadline day

Fulham have been very active in the transfer window, bringing in six players so far with more planned.

Keeper Fabri was signed from Besiktas, while defender Alfie Mawson cost £15million from relegated Swansea and Calum Chambers will spend the season on loan from Arsenal.

Fellow centre-back Maxime Le Marchand has also joined, Andre Schurrle signed a two-year loan deal from Borussia Dortmund and £18.5m was enough to lure Jean Michael Seri from Nice.

However, the club are still seeking more signings on transfer deadline day, lining up a loan move for Sevilla keeper Sergio Rico.

They could also be planning an ambitious £25m move for Andre Franck Zambo Anguissa from Marseille, and Joe Bryan is reportedly having a medical in west London.

Martin Montoya has landed in London, set to have Fulham medical

Valencia right-back Martín Montoya has reportedly landed in London to complete his move to Fulham.

Outlet Estádio Deportivo claims they were informed that the player 'would have arrived' in the English capital ahead of his move to the Whites.

Even though the conditions of the Fulham deal are not clear, the report says that the Spaniard is now ready to have his medical with the West London side.

Fulham's first option for the right-back position was the Celta de Vigo player Hugo Mallo, Estádio Deportivo says. However, as the player is currently working on his contract renewal with the club, the Cottagers have chosen to go for Montoya instead.

The 27-year-old was expected to stay at Valencia this season, but the attempt from Fulham has changed both player and the club plans.

Other Premier League sides such as Brighton and Southampton were also interested in the former Barcelona player, but it's Fulham who are said to have won the race.

Fulham transfer news: The latest on Sergio Rico, Joe Bryan and Andre Zambo Anguissa

Here's where things stand as we approach the final straight of deadline day

We've reached midday on transfer deadline day and Fulham have been busy trying to get deals over the line.

Joe Bryan, Sergio Rico, Andre Zambo Anguissa and Martin Montoya have all been linked with with the Craven Cottage outfit today as Tony Khan looks to strengthen the side ahead of the Premier League campaign.

There's less than five hours left until the window shuts and deals will start to move quickly as we approach that deadline, but Fulham look in good positions on their targets heading into the final straight.

Here's where things stand on potential transfers.

Things are at an advanced stage with the Bristol City left back, who has undergone his medical at Fulham and should be announced in the next few hours.

This deal started to snowball last night after Fulham made a last ditch bid for him, despite him undergoing a medical at Aston Villa.

He wants to play in the Premier League and will be the left back that the Cottagers go for after being quoted too much for Southampton's Matt Targett.

Sergio Rico

The loan signing of Sevilla keeper Sergio Rico should also be completed before the deadline, with talks between the two parties at an advanced stage after news broke of a deal yesterday.

Fabri has already been added to the squad ahead of the season, while Marcus Bettinelli hasn't featured at all as he recovers from injury.

Andre Zambo Anguissa

Reports in France state a deal between Fulham and Marseilles continues over a move for Anguissa, although the player has agreed personal terms with the player.

A fee of €30million has been touted for the 22-year-old, while there are reports of the Whites offering huge wages for his services.

He looks set to sign imminently with team mate Bouna Sarr wishing him good luck in an Instagram message.

Martin Montoya

Reports are circulating that Fulham are looking to secure the services of Valencia right back Montoya ahead of the deadline of 5pm this afternoon.

Cyrus Christie was signed in January to provide cover for Ryan Fredericks, but now he's left the side are short in that department and Montoya could be the man to come in.

This one could go the distance.

Fulham set to sign Atletico Madrid forward Luciano Vietto on loan

Newly-promoted Fulham have the chance to sign striker Luciano Vietto on loan

Under Slavisa Jokanovic, Fulham have been busy so far this transfer window

Fulham have been offered the chance to sign Luciano Vietto from Atletico Madrid on loan, with the transfer window closing today.

The 24-year-old Argentine was on loan at Valencia last season and is surplus to requirements at the Wanda Metropolitano.

He was signed after impressing at Villarreal in 2014/15 but has struggled to repeat the form that saw him score 18 goals in 48 games there.

Newly-promoted Fulham have been given the chance to sign striker Luciano Vietto on loan

Vietto began his career in his native Argentina with Racing Club under the tutelage of current Atletico boss, Diego Simeone.

He then made a move across the Atlantic to join Villarreal in August 2014, and made an instant impact scoring twice in the Europa League victory over Astana that month.

After showing good form, he then made a £18million move to Atletico in the summer of 2015 and has gone on to make 25 appearances for the club, scoring three times in all competitions.

Fulham have been busy with boss Slavisa Jokanovic seeing a clutch of new signings

However, he was loaned out to rivals Sevilla for part of the 2016/17 season and spent another loan spell at Valencia last term.

Vietto featured four times and scored twice for Atletico during their recent pre-season campaign and was awarded man-of-the-match after the 1-1 draw against Arsenal.

The newly-promoted Fulham have been busy during the summer transfer window, with Slavisa Jokanovic's side having already acquired a handful of players.

They include Jean Michael Seri, Maxime Le Marchand, Fabricio Agosto Ramirez, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Alfie Mawson and Calum Chambers.

Germany international Andre Schurrle has also joined on a two-season loan from Borussia Dortmund.

In what will be their first game in the top flight for four years, Fulham face London rivals Crystal Palace at home on Saturday afternoon.

Report: Atletico Madrid offer £18million striker Luciano Vietto to Fulham on loan

Will Premier League newcomers Fulham seize their reported chance to sign Argentine striker Vietto from 2014 La Liga champions Atleti?

It seems a long time now since Luciano Vietto was scoring goals for fun at Villarreal and being labelled the 'new Sergio Aguero'.

It has all gone a little bit wrong for the Argentine striker since his £18 million move to Atletico Madrid in 2015. Despite reuniting with Diego Simeone, who managed him at Racing Club in his homeland, Vietto has struggled badly to make an impact with the Colchoneros.

Vietto has scored just one La Liga goal in 25 games for Atletico and loan spells at both Sevilla and Valencia proved to be distinctly forgettable. So that is the risk Fulham are taking should they decide to take up the option to sign the 24-year-old on a temporary deal.

According to The Mail (12.11pm), Vietto is surplus to requirements at Atletico and the Europa League winners have offered Fulham the chance to sign him on loan for the 2017/18 season. As it stands, it is unknown whether The Cottagers are willing to play ball.

Slavisa Jokanovic's side are perhaps lacking natural goalscorers and Vietto is a poacher by trade, even if his recent statistics are poor to say the least.

Should he find his form again at Craven Cottage, Fulham could thrive with a player who scored 20 goals in 48 games for Villarreal up top.

Fulham linked with Vietto loan

Fulham are considering a loan deal for Atletico Madrid striker Lucas Vietto, according to a Daily Mail report this afternoon.

The Whites have been offered the chance to sign the Argentinian forward on a season-long loan deal, which could help facilitate the departure of Rui Fonte to Olympiakos. The 24 year-old has struggled to fit in at Atleti after starring for Villareal and was farmed out to Valencia last season.

Vietto was handed his professional breakthrough by current Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, when the former Argentina midfielder was in charge of Racing Club. He scored 18 times in 63 appearances as a teenager and earned a 5.5m move to Villareal, where he scored 20 goals in a single season – and was named La Liga's player of the month in December 2014. Vietto has struggled for game time at Atleti, despite being under Simeone's wing again, scoring three times in 20 first-team appearances.

He impressed in a pre-season outing against Arsenal, where he was named man of the match in a 1-1 draw, and Fulham may view him as useful back up for Aleksandar Mitrovic. If Fonte is set to leave for Greece, as has been rumoured this evening, adding to Fulham's attacking resources will be essential ahead of tonight's 5pm transfer deadline. At the moment, only Aboubakar Kamara, Neeskens Kebano and the injured Floyd Ayite exist in the first-team squad as plausible options up front.

Fulham 'set to land Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa in stunning £27million deal'

The Cottagers have spent big this summer to strengthen after promotion and aren't stopping yet

Fulham are on the verge of landing Marseille midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa in a stunning Deadline Day signing.

According to reports in France, the 22-year-old will have a medical before completing a shock £27million switch to the Premier League new boys.

Cottagers' boss Slavisa Jokanovic has stressed the need for extra depth in midfield, reports Football.London, and Tony Khan has seemingly delivered once again.

Report: Fulham in talks with Atletico Madrid over Oscar Pinchi

Fulham have reportedly entered talks with Atletico Madrid over a move for winger Oscar Pinchi.

The 22-year-old joined Atletico from Deportivo La Coruna earlier this summer and played against Arsenal in the International Champions Cup win last month.

Fulham, meanwhile, have enjoyed a fruitful transfer window, signing seven players to bolster their ranks ahead of their Premier League return.

Pinchi was originally signed by Atletico to help their B team get into the Segunda Division but, according to the Daily Mail, the Spaniard is due at Fulham today.

Fulham have also been linked with Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico, Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan and Marseille midfielder Andre Zambo Anguissa ahead of the closure of the transfer window.

Brighton set to sign Martin Montoya from Valencia as former Barcelona defender turns down Fulham

Fulham had been in talks with Valencia right back Martin Montoya
But the ex-Barcelona defender is now set to join Brighton
Montoya will compete with Ezequiel Schelotto and Bruno for a place

Martin Montoya has opted to join Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 27-year-old Spanish full-back had been in talks with Fulham but Chris Hughton has persuaded him to move to the south coast and the Valencia defender is poised to sign this afternoon.

Montoya will compete with Ezequiel Schelotto and veteran Brighton captain Bruno Saltor for a play in Hughton's starting XI.

He has just enjoyed two years of regular football at Valencia having been on the fringes of the first-team at Barcelona for the early part of his career.

Montoya, now 27, made 67 appearances in five seasons at Barcelona, being used mostly as a back-up for Dani Alves before being loaned out to Inter and Real Betis.

Montoya will become Brighton's 10th signing of the summer.

One winner and loser as Sergio Rico closes in on Fulham loan

Sky Sports reported that Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico is in London in order to complete a medical ahead of his proposed loan move to Fulham.

The signing would represent the Cottagers' second goalkeeper acquisition of the summer, improving Fulham's defensive options but damaging Marcus Bettinelli's Premier League hopes.

Winner: Fulham's defensive depth

Fulham are currently fairly short on goalkeeping options, with Marcus Bettinelli out with an injury and with last season's back-up David Button signing for Brighton.

Spanish goalkeeper Fabri signed for the Whites from Besiktas earlier in the summer, yet Fulham were still facing the prospect of heading into the first weekend of the Premier League season with only one fully fit senior goalkeeper.

The loan swoop for Rico, a goalkeeper with Champions League experience who was previously linked with Chelsea, is great business and will add to the Cottagers' defensive depth.

Loser: Marcus Bettinelli

How hard done by must Marcus Bettinelli feel? The goalkeeper has rarely started a season as first choice at Craven Cottage, yet has always fought his way back into the mix and emerged as a brilliant starter.

In the past two campaigns his return to the starting role has coincided with remarkable runs of form from the Whites, including numerous clean sheets and impressive performances.

Undoubtedly, there is a substantial step up from Championship to Premier League level but, nonetheless, Bettinelli has been desperately unlucky to see two goalkeepers brought in during the summer, right as he might have believed he would star in the top flight.

Fulham 'eye Luciano Vietto loan swoop'

Fulham could reportedly sign Atletico Madrid forward Luciano Vietto on loan for the 2018-19 campaign.

Vietto has been involved in Atletico's preparations for the new season, but the 24-year-old is widely expected to leave the Wanda Metropolitano before this summer's transfer window closes for business.

The Argentine arrived at Atletico in 2015 off the back of an impressive season at Villarreal, but he has struggled in the Spanish capital, and spent the second half of last term on loan at Valencia - scoring five times in 18 appearances.

According to the Daily Mail, Fulham, who have had an active transfer window, have been offered the chance to take the centre-forward on loan for the new Premier League season.

Should the move occur, Vietto could make his debut for the Cottagers in their Premier League opener against London rivals Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Claim From France: Andre Zambo Anguissa's Fulham Contract Details

Fulham-bound midfielder Andre Zambo Anguissa has agreed a four-year contract with the newly promoted Premier League outfit and details of the package he will receive have been revealed.

The Cottagers are rushing to conclude a deal to sign the 22-year-old midfielder form Marseille before the window slams shut today at 5pm.

The Premier League outfit have been finalising an agreement with Marseille and have committed to paying a transfer fee of around €30m for the defensive midfielder.

Anguissa has also agreed personal terms on a contract and it has been claimed that he is set to vastly improve his earnings once he completes the move to Fulham.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, the midfielder's representatives have negotiated a four-year contract with Fulham, reserving an option to extend his stay for at least one more season.

The Cameroonian will be earning £67,000 a week, which is a huge jump from what he has been earning at Marseille.

The French giants signed the midfielder on a free transfer from Stade Reims in 2015 and are set to earn a huge profit from his departure.

A full Cameroon international, Zambo Anguissa has eleven international caps to his name.

Fulham Set To Sign Marseille Star In £27 Million Move

Fulham are hoping to wrap up the signing of Marseille player Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, with RMC Sport saying that it's a done deal.

Despite being a newly-promoted club, Fulham are pegged as everyone's surprise contenders for the season, not least because of the brilliant purchases they have made this summer window. Just today, news filtered through that Fulham were close to signing Bristol City player Joe Bryan.

The west London club are hoping to get the deal for Zambo Anguissa signed and sealed, with a fee of £27 million for the defensive-midfielder. This comes after the club bought striker Aleksandar Mitrović for a reported fee of £27 million.

The Serbian striker helped Fulham earn promotion last season, scoring 12 goals in 17 Championship games. At Newcastle United, the 23-year-old was a frustrating figure. He was loved by fans and his talent was there for all to see, but his inconsistency in front of goal mixed with his wild personality and knack for getting sent off meant he was too much of a risk for Rafa Benitez, who essentially sold him because of the arrival of an unknown quantity Muto.

Fulham were relegated to the Championship in 2014 but after several years away they're back in the Premier League again and are looking sharp.

Southampton Keen To Hold On To Fulham Target

Premier League outfit Southampton are keen to hold on to young left-back Matt Targett, who has been linked with a move to Fulham, according to Sky Sports News.

The 22-year-old is in the radar of the Premier League newcomers, with the Saints believed to have quoted a fee in the region of £20m for the player.

However, with the transfer window in England closing within hours it would be difficult for Mark Hughes to get in a replacement for the player.

And therefore the Saints have decided to opt against any move to let Targett leave, in spite of him not being among the key players at St Mary's Stadium.

The former England Under-21 spent the second half of last season on loan at Craven Cottage, helping Fulham to get promoted to the Premier League via the playoffs.

He featured in a total of 21 games for the Cottagers, providing his team-mates with two assists and even going on to add to the scoresheet once.

Targett is a product of Southampton's youth academy, being promoted to senior level in 2013 after spending ten years at youth level.

He has a contract with the club that runs until June 2022.

Fulham transfer news: Ryan Sessegnon staying put as newly promoted side eye three signings on deadline day

Fulham are close to securing Joe Bryan who could be one of three new arrivals at Craven Cottage

Fulham are hoping to add three new players to their side as vice chairman and director of football operations, Tony Khan, confirms that star player Ryan Sessegnon will be staying put.

The west London side have held firm after bracing themselves for a long summer of interest in the 18-year-old, and are looking to add three new names after an already impressive summer of business.

Sessegnon starred in Fulham's run to the play-off final last season, and set up Tom Cairney to score against Aston Villa at Wembley as the Whites won 1-0 and gained promotion to the Premier League after four seasons in the Championship.

"We're not selling Ryan Sessegnon," said Khan on Twitter in response to rumours linking him with a move to bigger clubs. "We've never considered it.

"I couldn't sit back and read these false rumours anymore, had to say something. Ryan's key to this Fulham squad; he's one of the top young talents worldwide and in our plans for Premier League success."

Fulham have already signed Callum Chambers, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Alfie Mawson, Andre Schurrle, Jean Michael Seri, Mazime le Marchand and Fabri, but there will be a busy end to the window at Craven Cottage.

Slavisa Jokanovic is keen to complete a deal for Bristol City's Joe Bryan as a replacement for Matt Targett, who returned to Southampton after ending a loan spell in west London. Aston Villa had agreed terms with the left-back and conducted a medical, but Fulham's lure to the Premier League has turned the 24-year-old's head, and a transfer could be completed today.

Negotiations with Sergio Rico have also been taking place overnight and the experienced Sevilla goalkeeper may be a Fulham player before 5pm this evening.

Fulham pulled out of Martin Montoya deal to pursue other option at right back

Exclusive: Fulham will pursue another option at right back after pulling out of the deal

Fulham will not be signing Martin Montoya on deadline day after the club stalled on a deal and have now chosen to move on an alternate option.

Reports suggested that the Valencia man had rejected the side in favour of a move to Brighton and Hove Albion, but football.london understands that it was in fact Fulham who stalled on the move.

The club have been after a right back in this window and Montoya looked to be that man, but the Cottagers will instead move on to a different target after opting to pull the plug on the deal for the former Barcelona man and he now looks set to join Brighton and Hove Albion.

ulham are still hoping to bring in four new faces including that right back, with football.london also understanding that the deal for Joe Bryan is nearing completion, while deals for Sergio Rico and Andre Zambo Anguissa are ongoing.

It's been a successful transfer window for the club this summer - adding eight new faces so far to the side, including big names such as Jean-Michael Seri and Andre Schurrle, while Aleksandar Mitrovic also returned on a permanent deal from Newcastle United.

Fulham's Premier League campaign gets underway against Crystal Palace on Saturday at Craven Cottage, when former boss Roy Hodgson returns to west London.

Slavisa Jokanovic wants the club to sign further players to strengthen his team's chances of staying in the top flight this season, with a new defensive midfielder and left back top of his list of players that he wants the recruitment team to sign today.

Fulham close to signing former Argentina U20 international, 'a few details left' to sort out

It's a case of one in, one out at Atlético Madrid on transfer deadline day, as Nikola Kalinic arrives from Atlético Madrid, while Luciano Vietto is apparently on his way to... Fulham.

According to Rubén Uría in Spain, a journalist for a variety outlets, including the Spanish versions of Eurosport and beIN Sports, the 24-year-old forward will move to Craven Cottage in the final hours of the transfer window.

An agreement was found between the two clubs for the former Argentina U20 international, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Valencia.

Never really finding consistent game time under Diego Simeone, Vietto will now be looking to relaunch his career, and has chosen the Premier League, and Fulham, to do so.

There are apparently still a few details to sort out, but the agreement is there, and we'll have to see whether it's a loan or a transfer.

If this deal does go through, the forward could join the likes of Martin Montoya and André-Franck Zambo Anguissa as deadline day acquisitions for Slavisa Jokanovic's side.

Cardiff fend off Watford and Fulham to secure Harry Arter on season-long loan from Bournemouth

Harry Arter has turned down Watford and Fulham to join Cardiff on a season loan
He is Cardiff's second deadline day buy, after Victor Camarasa joined from Betis
Bournemouth broke their transfer record to sign £25million Jefferson Lerma

Harry Arter has rejected late moves from Watford and Fulham to join Cardiff on a year-long loan deal, Sportsmail understands.

The Bournemouth midfielder opted to leave Bournemouth in search of guaranteed first-team football after his parent club broke their transfer record to sign £25million Jefferson Lerma.

Cardiff have already secured the services of Victor Camarasa on loan from Real Betis today.

The 28-year-old midfielder had interested Premier League rivals Fulham and Watford, but opted for the newly-promoted side.

He trained with Bournemouth as normal this morning, before heading to Wales this afternoon to complete the move.

Arter has been at the Cherries since 2010, making 255 appearances in eight years.

He is also a full Republic of Ireland international, making 13 appearances since his debut in 2015.

Neil Warnock has already brought in Alex Smithies, Greg Cunningham, Bobby Reid and Josh Murphy to south Wales this summer as he looks to strengthen the squad for a survivial push after securing promotion last year.

Fulham ready to beat the deadline for South American forward

Premier League new boys are set to beat the clock and sign Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto on loan with a view to a permanent signing, according to the Daily Mirror.

Slavisa Jokanovic has already moved to strengthen his forward line in this transfer window, with the addition of Aleksandar Mitrovic, and it appears as though the Serbia international is to get a fellow forward to play alongside.

Vietto came through the ranks in his native Argentina, but it was a move to Villareal in 2014 where he shot to prominence. He displayed the sort of talent that made Diego Simeone sign him a year later, but it hasn't quite happened for him at Atletico Madrid.

He has been sent out on loan spells at Sevilla and Valencia where he caught the eye a little more, and now a move to the Premier League appears to be in the pipeline.

Jokanovic is keen to ensure he has a real strength in depth as he bids to keep the Cottagers in the top flight, and the addition of the 24-year-old to provide competition to the likes of Mitrovic and fellow new signing Andre Schurrle should help with that quest.

Were he to get the late deal over the line before the 5pm transfer deadline, it would boost his options ahead of Fulham's Premier League return when they take on Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United to send Timothy Fosu-Mensah on loan to Fulham

Manchester United are working on a deal to send Timothy Fosu-Mensah on loan to Premier League newcomers Fulham, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho has spent much of the summer looking for a new centre-back – with offers rebuffed for Toby Alderweireld, Jerome Boateng, Diego Godin and Harry Maguire.

Despite his desire to reinforce the back-line, Mourinho also feels that his defence is bloated and is looking to offload several players before the transfer deadline.

According to Sky Sports News, Fosu-Mensah is one player who could make way and the club are keen to ensure he continues to get Premier League experience.

The Dutchman was on loan at Crystal Palace last season, but there had been suggestions that he would act as cover and competition at Old Trafford – particularly with injury doubts over right-back Antonio Valencia.

Fosu-Mensah is capable of playing in the centre of defence, either full-back position or midfield, and Fulham are hoping to quickly wrap up a deal to bring the versatile youngster in.

If a deal cannot be completed by Friday's 5pm deadline, United still have the rest of the month to find a suitable foreign club to send him too.

It is a busy day for Fulham, with the Cottagers also looking to wrap up several more deals including a stunning swop for Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto.

Fulham made attempt to sign Ligue 1 defender, turned away by player himself

Fulham, much like Watford and Wolves, have approached transfer deadline day with a scattergun approach, with an aim to sign a new right-back at some point.

One of their targets, and the one they look most likely to get, was Valencia's Martin Montoya, but they also approached Monaco's Almamy Touré, where they weren't as lucky.

According to L'Equipe, the Cottagers tried to buy out the last year of the Mali international's contract with the principality club, and while it isn't explained if they succeeded, it doesn't really matter.

The French newspaper state the player, wanting to make a 'qualitative step' in his career if/when he leaves Monaco, decided to rebuke Fulham's advances to sign him, and most likely forced Slavisa Jokanovic to turn to the aforementioned Spaniard.

Despite being seen by many as a better option down the right than Djibril Sidibé, the 22-year-old has never managed to full displace the France international, making just 20 league appearances last season for the Ligue 1 club.

Fulham have reportedly wrapped up two more sensational loan deals

They have arguably had the best transfer window out of all 20 Premier League clubs

Fulham have been hard at work during this summer's transfer window, recruiting some very talented players who should bed into the squad seamlessly.

Aleksandar Mitrović made his loan from Newcastle permament, André Schürlle joined the Cottagers on a two year loan from Borussia Dortmund, and Jean Michael Seri signed from OGC Nice despite interest from several big clubs around Europe.

They've also reunited England's U21 defensive partnership from last summer with the acquisitions of Alfie Mawson and Calum Chambers, and now look set to complete two more loan deals to wrap up a fantastic window.

According to reports, loan moves for Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Luciano Vietto are expected to be announced by Fulham this afternoon. Fosu-Mensah joins from Manchester United after a relatively successful loan spell at Crystal Palace last season and an impressive pre-season tour, while Vietto joins from Atlético Madrid, having struggled to break into the team ahead of Angel Correa and Kevin Gameiro.

The deadline closed at 5pm but expect to see a few transfers announced after the deadline as the photoshoots and social media content is lined up.

If Fulham get both these deals over the line, it would wrap up a hugely successful window for them, although it's difficult to judge before the season has started.

Fulham sign Rico on loan

Fulham have confirmed the signing of Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico on a season-long loan.

The 24 year-old goalkeeper has made more than 170 appearances for Sevilla and has been capped by Spain at senior level. Fulham moved quickly to snap one of La Liga's leading goalkeepers after Sevilla had signed Tomas Vaclik from Basel. The Spanish goalkeeper has won back-to-back Europa League titles with Sevilla and will battle with compatriot Fabri and Marcus Bettinelli for the number one shirt at Craven Cottage.

Rico told Fulham's official website:

I'm very happy, really pleased to have signed for the oldest club in the Premier League. "I'm excited to start training, to meet all my teammates and, above all, to enjoy the season that starts this Saturday.

Fulham's head of football operations, Tony Khan, said:

I'm excited to announce that Fulham Football Club has signed Sergio Rico on loan from Sevilla. Sergio is a world class goalkeeper, and thus, his services have been in great demand. Sergio joins a very talented cast of goalkeepers under contract at FFC, and he answers our mandate of making our squad the strongest and deepest it can be as we face top Premier League opposition. Come on Fulham!

The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Sergio Rico on loan from Sevilla.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper has agreed a loan deal which keeps him at Craven Cottage until the end of the 2018/19 season.

Rico has made 170 appearances for Sevilla's first team during his career, keeping clean sheets in almost half of those, and has also been capped by Spain at senior level.

Born in Sevilla, Rico joined his local club as a youngster and progressed through the ranks before making his debut at the beginning of 2014/15, going on to make 37 appearances as the club's first choice goalkeeper despite his tender age.

His maiden campaign culminated in a first ever trophy, as he was in goal for Sevilla's 3-2 Europa League Final win against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.

Rico added the same medal to his collection a year later as Sevilla defeated Liverpool 3-1 at FC Basel's St. Jakob-Park.

That proved to be the start of a prosperous summer as it preceded a call-up to the Spain squad for the 2016 European Championship where he was one of three goalkeepers alongside Iker Casillas and David De Gea, making his debut in a warm-up match against South Korea – a 6-1 win for the Spaniards.

Rico made 85 appearances for Sevilla across the following two seasons, the first of which ended in a fourth place finish, and the subsequent featuring a two-legged Champions League knock-out victory over Manchester United.

Commenting after putting pen to paper, Rico said: "I'm very happy, really pleased to have signed for the oldest club in the Premier League.

"I'm excited to start training, to meet all my teammates and, above all, to enjoy the season that starts this Saturday."

Tony Khan added: "I'm excited to announce that Fulham Football Club has signed Sergio Rico on loan from Sevilla. Sergio is a world class goalkeeper, and thus, his services have been in great demand.

Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa agrees £30million deal with Fulham as club confirm Sergio Rico loan signing

The newly-promoted side have made some very strong signings ahead of their first season back in the big time

ulham have wrapped up their summer spending spree landing Sergio Rico on loan and agreeing a deal to sign Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa.

Rico joins the newly-promoted club from Sevilla, while Anguissa is due to sign from Marseille, and will set Fulham back a club-record £30million.

Anguissa finalised a deal with the Cottagers on Deadline Day, and will put pen to paper on a four-year deal.

Reports in France claim the deal was held up due to a disagreement over the payment method, with Fulham wanting to pay the £30million transfer fee in installments, and the Ligue 1 club wanting the money up front.

A compromise was struck between the two teams before Thursday's 5pm deadline.

Fulham sign Sevilla goalkeeper on loan

Fulham have announced the arrival of Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico on a season-long loan deal.

The Cottagers have already signed Fabri from Besiktas this summer but have added competition between the sticks with the arrival of Rico.

Rico has spent his entire career at Sevilla and it's a huge coup for Fulham to convince the Spaniard to move to Craven Cottage.

"I'm very happy, really pleased to have signed for the oldest club in the Premier League," he told the club's official website.

"I'm excited to start training, to meet my teammates and, above all, to enjoy the season that starts this Saturday."

Sevilla have allowed Rico to move to England after signing Basel goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik earlier in the window.

Fulham have been one of the busiest sides on transfer deadline day, with up to five new players expected to be announced on Thursday, including Rico.

The 24-year-old has punched the ball clear more times than any other goalkeeper since the start of the 2016/17 La Liga campaign (44).

However, he lost confidence over the course of last season after turning in several nervy performances, costing him a place in Sevilla's plans for the upcoming campaign.

Fulham sign Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico on season-long loan

Fulham have signed goalkeeper Sergio Rico on a season-long loan deal from Sevilla.

The 24-year-old has made 170 appearances for Sevilla, winning the Europa League twice, but lost his position as first choice at the tail-end of last season.

The once-capped Spain international was reportedly interesting several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, before the Blues completed a deal for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Rico is poised to battle with Fabri, who Fulham signed from Besiktas, and incumbent Marcus Bettinelli, for the No 1 jersey at Craven Cottage.

"I'm very happy, really pleased to have signed for the oldest club in the Premier League," Rico told the club's website.

Bryan joins Fulham

Fulham have completed a deal to bring in left back Joe Bryan from Bristol City for a fee believed to be around £6m.

The Whites' swooped for one of the Championship's most impressive full backs last night – which might Bryan's proposed move to beaten play-off finalists Aston Villa collapsed in acrimonious fashion. The Premier League new boys had identified Bryan, who had an excellent season as the Robins narrowly missed out the play-offs, as one of their potential targets earlier in the season and return to sign the 24 year-old after it became clear that Southampton were unwilling to allow Matt Targett leave St. Mary's.

An attack-minded full back, Bryan has made more than 200 senior appearances at Bristol City and famously scored the opening goal as Lee Johnson's side beat Manchester United in the League Cup quarter-final last term. His arrival means that teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon can continue to play as a left winger and Bryan, who was part of the Bristol City side that won promotion from League One and the Football League Trophy in 2014/2015, is in line to make his Fulham debut against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Bryan told Fulham's official website:

Playing against Fulham the last couple of years, the style of play has really stood out to me and it will suit me. The opportunity to play in the Premier League is one you can't turn down as you may never get it again in your lifetime. I'm used to playing fast attacking football, so hopefully I can slot right in.

Fulham's director of football operations, Tony Khan, added:

I'm pleased to announce that Fulham Football Club has signed Joe Bryan. Joe is a gifted young player, and we have seen first hand that he is a fierce competitor in our recent clashes against Bristol City in the Championship. He's a promising addition to the squad, and we are excited to welcome Joe to the club.

The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Joe Bryan from Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.

The left-back has signed a four-year-deal with Fulham, with a Club option to extend by a further year.

Bryan, 24, has established himself as one of the finest left-backs outside the top flight over the last few seasons, helping the Robins enjoy a number of successful campaigns on the pitch.

Born in Bristol, Bryan progressed through City's academy and made his Championship debut in a 3-2 win over Leicester City as an 18-year-old in March 2012.

The following season he played 12 times in the Championship during the first half of the season, prior to a loan switch to Plymouth Argyle, who he helped remain in the Football League.

In his absence, Bristol City had slipped into League One, but in the two seasons that followed he continued his development having established himself as the club's first choice left-back.

After a campaign of consolidation, 2014/15 was a hugely successful one for City, with Bryan scoring seven times in 50 appearances as they won the title with 99 points and claimed the Football League Trophy at Wembley.

In their first campaign back in the second tier, the Robins comfortably avoided relegation, a feat they replicated in 2016/17.

Bryan then played a pivotal role in one of their best ever campaigns. A fantastic start to proceedings saw City establish themselves as promotion contenders, and although they were unable to sustain their league form, they still secured a top half finish.

They really captured the nation's attention in the League Cup, though, when they reached the Semi-Finals.

Having already knocked out Premier League Stoke City and Crystal Palace, Manchester United arrived at Ashton Gate in the Quarter-Final, with Bryan opening the scoring with a stunning strike in a 2-1 win.

The other Manchester side awaited in the last-four, but the eventual winners proved too strong despite a spirited Robins display, with City claiming a 5-3 aggregate win across two legs.

A real fan favourite, Bryan departs his boyhood club having made 230 appearances, during which time he scored 20 goals.

Speaking from Motspur Park after putting pen to paper, Bryan said: "Playing against Fulham the last couple of years, the style of play has really stood out to me and it will suit me.

"The opportunity to play in the Premier League is one you can't turn down as you may never get it again in your lifetime.

"I'm used to playing fast attacking football, so hopefully I can slot right in."

Tony Khan added: "I'm pleased to announce that Fulham Football Club has signed Joe Bryan. Joe is a gifted young player, and we have seen first hand that he is a fierce competitor in our recent clashes against Bristol City in the Championship.

"He's a promising addition to the squad, and we are excited to welcome Joe to the club! Come on Fulham!"

Fulham seal flurry of late deals on Deadline Day

Fulham joined Everton in making the most of Transfer Deadline Day in the Premier League.

The Cottagers absolutely went for it.

Newly-promoted Fulham had already had a superb transfer window after signing Andre Schurrle, Alfie Mawson, Jean Serri, Calum Chambers and Aleksandar Mitrovic, but they kept signing players on deadline day.

Take a look at this lot...

Joe Bryan – Left back arrives in a reported $8 million fee from Bristol City
Sergio Rico – Signed on loan from Sevilla, talented goalkeeper
Andre Zambo Anguissa – Holding midfielder from Marseille set to arrive for club-record $38 million
Luciano Vietto – Argentine striker set to join on loan from Atletico Madrid
Timothy Fosu-Mensah – A season-long loan deal from Manchester United for the versatile Dutch defender, if it goes through in time

If all of these deals are completed then it would mean Fulham have spent over $128 million, more than any other newly-promoted team in a single window in Premier League history.

American owner Shahid Khan doesn't want the bitter taste of relegation from the PL again and he's splashing some serious cash to make sure Slavisa Jokanovic's men don't finish in
