I know it has been said for some time now that Fulham has one of the most picturesque settings and to an extent stadums in the UK, and I do love it when I pop along for my couple of visits each year (particularly when I get a Riverside ticket).
But which others come close ?
Which away grounds are worth a visit for a neutral ?
I really liked Aston Villa for a start.
(I think QPR is awful by the way, hated the place when we were there and I had a season ticket.)
If you've never been, Griffin Park. Another characterful ground soon joins the likes of Underhill, Layer Road and the remarkable Gay Meadow. It's enough to make grown men weep.
For lovers of eccentric football grounds, Hampton & Richmond's Beveree is utterly brilliant.
Hillsborough, proper old style ground. Also seems massive, looks a lot bigger than 40k.
Not a lover of big modern stadiums, would take Craven Cottage or a ramshackle Fratton Park over the Emirates all day long, love the character & uniqueness of old football grounds
I rather like some of these small comfortable and convenient modern stadiums like High Wycombe and Reading play in, suspect the new stadium that Brentford are planning could be interesting too.
I like the Derby stadium !!!! Best modern stadium I've been to
Goodison park

Couldn't agree more
I like the Amex ,

I like the Amex ,
Preferred their old ground The Goldstone, their record att actually against us 38,000.
LincolnCity(The old Sincil Bank)
Tooting n Mitcham(Sandy Lane)
Brechin City(Glebe Park)
Emirates for me, some of the older grounds are ok, but I like a little bit of comfort nowadays.

I like the Amex ,
Disagree its soulless and a nightmare to access by any means of transport (good seats though)
I'd go for Fratton Park which as it's a throw back to when football was real :54:
Selhurst Park, C.Palace- where I saw my very first pro games with my parents, standing where the terracing became a grassy hill behind the goal.
Firhill- home of friendly, non-sectarian, neutrals favourite, Scottish Championship club Partick Thistle, and where i saw Fulham draw in a friendly, with Collins John scoring.

Remember Selhurst well in the 70's! it was grass and cinders behind the goal which was lethal when wet!!!
Hate modern stadiums - utterly characterless & soulless - Villa Park is good, Selhurst ok - got to love a proper old skool non league ground too and have been to many.
McDiarmid Park , home of St Johnstone fc , in Perth , Scotland . Went there for for a friendly July 1999 , locals were great , small ground with a lovely feel to it .

I was also there, I think it was on my Birthday. Lovely setting with mountains in the distance. I remember Stan Collymore made his first appearance for us there.
Lords or the Oval

Lords or the Oval
Trent Bridge for me.
Football wise I love all the ones I've been to in Germany, but I guess it's due to being able to stand and have a beer in your hand. Shalke's stadium was epic, even if the town it's in is a dive
Hamburg was good but that could have been to the day. Etihad not bad with good facilities all around especially with the tram station. Hated Emirates but I was in the home section. Old Trafford not bad as was Goodison. Brentford current stadium when I went a good few years ago looked like it was falling down. Loftus Rd has the smallest leg room in any stadium I have been to. Fratton Pk was dump.
Goodison Park. Been up there many times with a toffee mate and it's always a great day out. Will be a shame when it goes.
Also love Griffen Park and its pubs.
The Nou Camp. Just wow when full.
The Ajax/Amsterdam/Johan Cruyff Arena is a fantastic stadium with great facilities.
Another nice ground is the Dripping Pan in Lewes
Wolfsburg's was the best imo. The lighting, fans standing zone and the friendliness of the opposition fans before the match made it well worth the journey.
Rather a bizarre choice I know - but I had a real soft spot for Darlingtons old ground Feethams .That allchanged when the self confessed bank robber George took them to their new place out of town

Good call :54: also I liked the Basel stadium too 049:gif
From our days in the lower divisions I always enjoyed St James's Park, Exeter and Gigg Lane. Love De Goffert in Nijmegen purely because NEC fans treat you so well.
However it must be a non football ground - Lord's. If only they didn't have so many rules and regulations. And jobsworth stewards.
The old Lansdown Road had a lot of carachter. Otherwise always had a soft spot for Brisbane Road. I believe the groundsman there used to regularly win awards for maintaining the best playing surface of all London clubs..
New Rd Worcester cricket,a beautiful ground.

I disagree, I think as new football stadiums go the Amex is up there with one of the most characterful, the fans are close to the pitch, fantastic atmosphere, and an aesthetic design, though you're right about transport, queueing for an hour just to get on the train.
As for other stadiums, I agree Hillsborough is class, Griffin Park is fun as it's a sh*thole, St Andrew's is underrated. As for foreign clubs, Union Berlin's Stadion an der alten Försterei and the Olympiastadion are up there.
The Parks of Griffin, Villa and Fratton for me.

The previous wednesday i saw fulham at Tynecastle playing hearts , again the scottish fans were great , were you at that game ?
The Gay Meadow with the Corricle at the end of the pitch to rescue balls kicked into the River Severn.
Wembley. That day we beat the Villa was the most memorable and happiest of my life1
Victoria Road - Dagenham & Redbridge
Gallaghar Stadium - Maidstone
Vicarage Road - Watford
Kingsmeadow - AFC Wimbledon

Reading?
JOKING!!!!!
The Old Den.
the new Wembley, mind you I've only been to one game there :dft011:
Not that I have seen Fulham there but I like Malaga's ground. Its quite open and watching a game on a warm is great. Other than that I think Wembley for a big stadium.

Yes was also at that game, 4 of us went up for about 5 days. The Hearts supporters were not quite as friendly though although Edinburgh is one of best cities I know.
