Mullers OG

We all have our own subjective opinions and there will always be arguments and disagreements. My own opinion is that Andersen was, and is, a very fine CB who has cemented us into a safe if dour premiership team. We may be trying to be less dour but stopping the opposition scoring is important. The sooner he's back the better.

I fear for us this season. I hope wrongly. Against many teams we need to win balls in the air. Our new CB is short. Jiminez won high balls when we defend corners. Not sure Garcia will to the same extent. Without Andersen I suspect opposing teams will fancy their chances at every dead ball.

Bassey the warrior

Andersen has many positive qualities but he is slow and not very agile, which is a recipe for disaster given we play a high line.

He also never plays as well when Castagne is starting instead of Tete, Kenny has the better recovery speed.

So not a bad player by any means, just maybe not the right man for Arbeloa.

YankeeJim

I think that Anderson is a decent center back, not that the top six would consider him but in his first go around at the Cottage he was surrounded by poorer quality defenders, so he looked good. Attackers tend to look for the easiest defender. On today's team, he is alongside Bassey, who is a higher quality player and we have two solid if not specular fullbacks. He is the weakest link and attackers know that and his weaknesses are exploited.
That being said, he needs to keep his yap shut. Whining isn't helping the team. I'd tell him that and if he takes issue with that, January will soon be upon us.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

I think he's a player who's fairly clearly on the decline, and when we've seen a player compete at a high level for a long time it can take a while to catch up with the reality.

A bit like when we had Parker as a player. Everyone was happy we had signed a PFA winning player, and he applied himself well - but was a shadow of what he used to be really, although it was still Scott Parker and we felt lucky to have him.

Sting of the North

He wasn't whining in the article that was quoted. He just stated that he thought he had played well, but that the manager had opted for another player. Posters seem to simply make things up just to be able to complain... quite sad, in my opinion.

So did Mitrovic.

Mitrovic was promoted and signed whilst in the championship with us mate do your research, Andersen got relegated whilst on loan from Lyon playing for Fulham.
