With West Ham being edged out to Automatic promotion by Southampton, they do have the best squad out of the four. But in the play offs, it usually goes to the form team which is actually difficult to decide this year.

Each team's key players (in my opinion) are;

West Ham - Mark Noble - I know others would go for Carlton Cole, Kevin Nolan or even Henri Lansbury. But to me, when Mark Noble players well, West Ham do. I know they are playing long ball football, but when he gets hold of the ball, he can make the team tick with a decent range of passing, his battle with Whittingham will be very interesting.

Cardiff City - Peter Whittingham - In my opinion, is one of the players in the Championship most likely to succeed in the Premier League. He's got a great range of passing, works hard, good from a dead ball and a captain. A couple of years ago I would have loved him at Fulham as a replacement for Danny but we've come leaps and bounds since then. Would do well.

Birmingham City - Chris Burke - Another who I rate really highly. He can do everything. One of Birmingham's top scorers, a great cross and good hit. It would be interesting to see whether he could do it at the top level. Players like Marlon King, Nathan Redmond and Curtis Davies have also been key to their good form. Chris Hughton also has done amazingly well for Birmingham this year.

Blackpool - Matt Phillips. He's been superb all season, and actually, I could have gone for their other winger, Tom Ince, or golden oldie Kevin Phillips. Matt Phillips is a superb direct winger and possesses great pace and a decent ball. I think we'd all agree that Blackpool being back in the Premiership would be fantastic. A great mix of youth, experience and exuberance. The leadership qualities of Barry Ferguson, Kevin Phillips, Ian Evatt and Lomana Lua Lua could have a role to play in a return to the top.

So, assuming the two bad news of QPR staying and West Ham getting promoted, there would be 6 teams in London, when was the last time it happened? Have there been more at the same time?

I'm actually quite frightened about Cardiff coming up. Another 'attractive' mid-table quality side in the Premiership could be bad news for Fulham. I'd love to see Blackpool come up just because Holloway is such a breath of fresh air. Birmingham wouldn't be bad either because Hughton is a sweetie. If West Ham don't come up, it would be nice for Fulham to look at purchasing Noble?

All in all, I reckon it'll be the Hammers or Cardiff.

It has to be West Ham, doesn't it?

They're the best side of those four, if you believe the table, by a large margin.

Actually in 06-07 there were EIGHT London teams making up the Barclay's Premier League season, although two did get relegated. The eight teams were;

Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Fulham, West Ham, Reading, Charlton and Watford.

Hmmmm....

I'll give you Watford (at a push) but I'm not accepting Reading! It's miles from London!

Think it could be Birmingham. Difficult to beat and well managed. Anyone but the cheats though

word to yer muvva.

I picked Blackpool because they lit up the staid, cookie-cutter league last season, and their supporters enjoyed every moment of it.

Birmingham wouldn't bother me much either.

For once I agree with you Mr IW. Reading is definitely not London, and Watford is just an old myth. Never considered that London either

Not Cardiff, that's for sure. Very poor first half against the Hammers.
