Weird, I though Hangeland was beaten many times in the air today. Not that that's a criticism, Carroll is a monster. But there were a few that went wide or were saved from Carroll today.

Hughes gets my vote, his performance was summed up in the first half when Carroll tried to barge him over and Hughes instead used that momentum to take the ball round him and clear, before Carroll clumsily took him out. A top performance. His best of the season imo.

Having watched the highlights on football first it seems that Brede was outstanding last night. Looked like Hughes and Riise among others had excellent games too.
