I'm not so sure we need to be so pessimistic.

Dembele and Dempsey have siad we are a very good team with great players so it will need a top four team to come in to make them leave. There has been no real stories in the last 4 weeks linking either of them with any of these clubs only the Everton link for £4m which is definitely a non starter on so many levels.

In fact they all appear to have other targets for these positions so it looks like they are on the B or C buying list for these clubs, would they move knowing they were an squad purchase until they can sign the player they want? Only the end of summertime will tell. Yellow card

No Holiday until July probably and no Olympics. We couldn't get past that powerhouse El Salvador.

Can hardly blame him - at least he's got this summer off (unless the US are involved in something?). Might influence a move actually, stop being our most important player.

That US have World Cup Qualifying this Summer. Three friendlies in May, I believe, and two qualifiers in June. He'll be involved in all of them most likely as Klinsman has said he'll be using his best squad throughout.

Does Dempsey ever have a holiday? Is there a chance he will be called up for the Olympics (Have the US qualified?)?

Sadly, the US did not qualify for the Olympics. That's probably a good thing for Clint though. I believe he'd stated at some point that he'd like to go. I don't see how the US coach could've passed on having him in the squad if we'd made it to London.

I thought he played very well. Shame about 2 missed opportunities bit it happens to everyone, even Van Persie this season. As far as his body language, don't read to muchh into it. He doesn't go overboard even when he is the one who scored. Very mature.  dft003 and cool.

Not saying he was not playing well. He looked considerably less sharp than a month ago. I was just wondering whether that was my perception or whether someone else noticed it too.

Sippy, I agree, he does seem less sharp but even still seems to still be in the mix and playing hard. It MAY be he is wearing down a bit. He really hasn't had a proper break since he got here with all the summer commitments for the US and us starting so early this season. He is also sort of streaky as well. My observation seems to score in bunches, then is quiet for a period.

Im not convinced he gets on or likes playing with Pog. Yes they have passed to each other but I have seen a number times Dempsey give him a right rocket for not passing (and of course Dempsey then shoots from 40 Yards) to him. There has been change since he got all that press a few weeks ago and he looks recently to be just going through the motions.

:028:One reason he may look tired is that in the past he fell down a lot and he got a good rest during the games when he was lying down as if shot. drums

dft002 PLEASE PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD BEFORE HATTERDON READS IT!!!! FAST! dft002

TOO LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Et tu, Mr. Sips. For four years I've seen "Clint looks tired. Clint looks uninterested. Clint's playing too much football." And just exactly what has the done for those four years.

As for yesterday's match -- like the previous two where he "looked tired, uninterested" -- every single real scoring threat involved him. He was the best player on the pitch yesterday, but it appears as if when he doesn't actually score then he's had a poor game.

And, as has been pointed out before, Clint will be involved in World Cup qualifying against monster teams like Andorra, The Faroe Islands, Leictenstein, and Cyprus. [No, wait a minute, that's in England's group.  Hilarious]

Truth is that every summer he plays football, every fall Fulham fans say, "Well look at him; he must be tired." And every season he does more for the club than he did before.

And, I am NOT in the mythical DDL. He's never been my favorite Fulham player. I just don't want him to be treated poorly should he leave this summer, because we'll be telling ourselves, "He didn't really work hard when he was with us. Remember that sullen look and how uncaring he was? Now he's with Arsenal, he's working hard." And then we'll boo him. I know we will.

Contrast that with the hated Liverpool supporters giving huge applause for Murplhy and Riise yesterday.

Rant over. I feel quite tired now. perhaps it's too much football.

This must be the first time in my FoF career that I have to say: did you actually read what I said?

I was not slating CD in any way (please read my initial post). I was just wondering whether his long season (for club and country) has had a considerable effect on his performances as of late. Just like RVP has momentarily lost the 'ability' to score (he has said himself he is tired), I was wondering whether the same can apply to the current May 2012 CD. Has the season been too long for him and is he in need of a rest?

I read what you said, Mr. Sips. You just became the 823rd poster to begin a thread by observing that "Dempsey looks tired."

incorrect. I asked that as a question. And it had nothing to do with his appearance: he always looks like he is just out of bed. It had to do with his movement (running back, standing still, not running, ...). He was less energetic than before. A human body can only take what it can take.

He seems to have those moments when things are'nt going well and he resorts to getting at the Ref or slouching about the centre circle more frequently these days and the old Demps comes in flashes. Could of course simply be knackered. If it is to be the last hurrah I will at this rate miss it as we are under a mountain of work and the trains are rubbish on a sunday so I'd say thanks for Juventus and good luck. Yes there have been other goals but ............

I always liked 824 as a number.

I'll pm you later MJG about seating in P1 and P2. Got a really interesting response from the Club revealing once and for all that they have no idea.

If he ain't tired he bloody well should be (unless he was actually manufactured in some shed in Area 51, New Mexico).

He's had 58 games in the last year from Pasadena to Ljubljana (via Wigan) and has netted 28 times, often playing in less than ideal positions.

He may leave us at the end of the season (there is a valid line of argument that would suggest that this has been his optimal season and the club would be advised to cash in when he is the top of his market value. It would need to be a massive wodge of dough, because he would be immensely difficult to replace). I sincerely hope he does not. However, I suppose we will have to wait for his departure before he gets the respect he deserves.
