The third gutless performance in a row.  Who noticed Hangeland going straight off after the game.  Was he disgusted with the performance or the support or was we on the phone to his agent asking them to get him out of this shite hole.
We Are Fulham, Believe.

CurryForMario

Probably a little bit of both.
He gets the ball, he scores a goal, he loves to play for Martin Jol - Dimitar Berbatov - Fulham's Number Nine!

MOR :

Probably upset with the teams and his own display but being booed everytime he passed back must have clinched it for him to get off ASAP...

hangerland and hughes looked really unhappy and dispirited before the game. I saw that as the walked past us after the warm up.
The manager has upset/fallen out with BZ, Baird, rayL Clint and now it seems Brede and hughes may be in the same camp.

I hope you aint calling our beloved Cottage a hole.
A proper football ground.

I was describing his reaction to a say when you could hear the Southampton fans, the players shouting at each other and occasionally some of the Fulham fans.  Our support was abysmal and that must communicate to the players.  I have never listened to so much complaining about this and that player from old and young.

Why have we become so cynical please lets give them whole hearted support on Saturday they will need it as we are on a fast track route to the bottom of the table.

But it's a bit chicken and egg isn't it. If I had spent good money on going to any of the last 3 games, I think I would certainly be mightily pi**ed off with the apparent lack of commitment and skill of the team. I know we need to support the team through thick and thin, but the team is a highly paid bunch of professionals who also have a responsibility to give the fans a decent performance.

And remember that the fans are (mostly) with the club for far longer than the players, managers and coaching staff.

A large number of the Fulham crowd are neutral football supporters not fanatics of Fulham.  The Cottage becomes more like a Cathedral every game.

Not sure about the neutral bit. But what was there to get excited about and encite some passion amongst the fans. Poor passing with very little action going forward and too many mistakes which gave Southampton the attacking iniative.

Don't think I would say "gutless" because can't know what players are thinking while playing so poorly, but FFC have played very, very poorly three times in a row and have barely managed one win in the last 11. Expectations don't define a team, results do, and our results are just awful. Battling for 18th, indeed.

The title of this thread says it all -- one shot on target, and it came in the first 10 minutes. The team selection was questionable, the substitutions were hardly credible, and either the tactics were bad or the players failed to execute them. Why oh why does the manager keep putting Riise, Baird and Rodallega in the starting lineup? If it's because there's no one better on the bench, then that's all we need to know.

It's hard to imagine that the players will put in a real shift on Saturday, more likely to be passed into submission. Hard to fancy any points at West Brom, either. Our primary hope for staying up seems to be that there may actually be three teams more terrible than Fulham, not that we are likely to gain anything close to 40 points.

I could not agree more, our support is the worst in the league, only one stand with any noise, the Hammersmith End, the other two and a half are like a morgue.

My friend teaches Bredes daughter and says he comes in every day talking about how much he loves living in London and playing for Fulham so I dont think he wants to leave. Understandably hes frustrated with how things are going like we all are!

CH FFC

I agree that we need to get behind the team, but on the other hand......These past three games have been so poor, that negative reactions and not getting behind them should say something.  They should deserve their backing...yes?
If they play with no heart, and put little effort in why would anyone want to back them?

I personally start every game behind the team, but if there is such poor play the fans should communicate this to the team.  The fans most definitely need to back the team.  Are the players doing the same?

How often have we been able to start with the same 11 players. It´s only playing with a settled side that you get players playing with instinct´, not having to think who is where. Injuries have hit us hard this season which is why we have lost our slick passing game.

I am surprised that this point has not been brought up more often - I also mentioned it in an earlier post. We need a run of games with no injuries to 6 or 7 of the key players so that we can have a settled side. This will inject understanding and instil some confidence again. Have we put the same side out for more than 2 games this season? We need a fit Richardson playing as he did for Sunderland in that left midfield spot, Diarra & Ruiz fully fit, Duff back and fit and with Sidwell that is an adequate midfield, leaving 1 out of Berba, Petric and Rodders for the front with options to change during the game. Diarra links defence to midfield and is the available out ball for the defenders and the keeper and Ruiz links midfield to attack. These core players will play better when playing alongside our other strongest players rather than the stand ins. Then Frei, Kaca and Dejagah can be used as subs so they become more experienced/acclimatise to the Premier League and Baird is the utility player on the bench that is essential and so useful to have available to call upon when needed.

No one seems to have asked the most obvious question, why did Jol take off the most effective attacker in kaca who linking up well with Berbs and riise down the left and really causing saints problems  and leave mick on the pitch? Tactics, Jol doesn't have a clue

MJG

Jol had the chance after Newcastle to play an unchanged side at QPR and did not.
The back five has hardly changed all year and one striker position is locked in.
Just saying.

One up front does not work, we have no one of that quality and with the poor tactics, who ever gets the job is left isolated.

Well Hangeland has missed the best part of 4 games but we all know the problems lie further up the field where we are weakest and have been hit the hardest. No sooner for example do we get Ruiz back and Duff is then out and so on. We need all these key players fit and playing several games on the spin together. We all expect the player coming in to perform and it is just not that simple at this level.

If you are joking then fair enough. If you are being serious then that is one of the most antiquated and boring points that recurs on here. If you really want to get into this then could you please define 'worst'? Please consider loyalty, footballing knowledge, respect, patience, sense and wit. I've seen real magic in the cottage, and the fans have helped create that every time.

I think it could if we could get consistency of team selection - worked at the Arsenal I seem to recall. Whatever the formation I am convinced that the key 6 or 7 need to be fully fit for a decent time. Maybe these persistent injuries can be attributed to the higher age of the squad ?
