Everton Badge

I have a friend who is an Everton fan and really isn't happy about whats happened today, the Everton badge has been changed and the fans have already made a petition for it to change back.

as a designer I've got to say that I "understand" their new badge, I like the way they've kept the "feel" of the original however, ditching the latin text removes any "nod" to tradition.

as a small consolation its not been completely revamped, ours, Arsenals and even QPRs badges have been, I'm sure in all cases to fit with some marketing drive, tradition = old fashioned = not a market leader = less revenue, at least that's the way the soulless bean counters think!

I quite like the new badge. But I liked the old one as well. It is not such a severe change as we had to put up with. I still don't like ours but unfortunately we have to put up with it. I think the worst thing that can happen to a club is have its grounds name changed. Heaven help us if that ever happens

The United States has a great tradition of highly detailed crests and badges for government offices and city logos... but nearly every sports team end up with something that looks like someone had a go in ms paint for a few minutes. This very much looks a nice, dumbed-down version in line with the MLS aesthetic.  i'd be a bit upset as well... but, on the other hand, whatever.

Its been changed throughout the history of the club, I think this is about the fifth different layout.
I think its inevitable that things will be updated on a regular basis, the powers that be decided it was time to do it again, tho i do think this one is a bit basic,  cheap and nasty is another way of describing it.  
But to start talking of petitions and mutiny is OTT, i cant be arsed one way or the other really.

Interesting that, like us, Everton had the club's initials as a 'crest' in the 70s.  All the rage I guess.

I was puzzled as to what this hut was so did a quick google search. It transpires that the hut is an actual building in Everton called Prince Ruperts tower.
