Lily Allen has admitted that she feels embarrassed after being spotted crying over the result of last night's Europa League football final.

The singer was in attendance in Hamburg for yesterday's game and TV cameras later captured her sobbing as her beloved team Fulham lost to Atletico Madrid in extra time.

Speaking on This Morning today, Allen confessed: "It's so embarrassing! I'm okay. You know what it was? I took my granddad, who's been supporting Fulham since the '30s and going to see them since the early '40s, so I really wanted them to win so he would have seen them win for once!"

The 25-year-old revealed that she did not know her tears had been broadcast until today as her mobile phone's battery was dead last night.

She said: "I woke up this morning and had charged my phone overnight and got all these text messages saying, 'Don't cry, Lil - it'll be alright'. I was like, 'What's everyone talking about?'

"I'm fine. I cry at EastEnders, I cry at John Lewis adverts, I cry at pretty much everything."

I didn't last night. But as you get older you do become emotional. But my family are by tradition Fulham fans as well. In the end

I didn't need to cry
Caus My heart was full of pride

You can use that when you go back to writing again Miss Allen.
