After Fulham and Everton is now AS Roma ture strongly for the Congolese striker Standard.

The agent of Mbokani was spotted in the Italian capital and spoke with a delegation of AS Roma, reports The Age.

The Roman club has eight million euros at auction Mbokani to get to Italy. Standard wants more for his capture striker.

AS Roma drew earlier in the week even though the Brazilian striker Adriano and, according to the Italian newspaper Corriero dello Sport also interested in Amauri. Mbokani has a contract for four seasons in Liege.

I've lost a lot of confidence in this going through now, you can bet your back pocket that Roma will offer him higher wages, European football and a higher transfer fee and he'll  end up going there. Fingers crossed but I'm not very confident

Whilst Roma can outgun Fulham in just about every aspect, they have just bought Adriano. Add to this Luca Toni, Totti, Jeremy Menez and Mirko Vucinic and I cant see Mbokani getting anywhere near the starting line-up. For a man who obviously thinks a lot of himself this may be a problem. Add to this the fact that Roma pioneered the 'no striker' formation and under Ranieri like to play 1 up front then I am sceptical.

Of course he is more likely to join Roma if asked but you never know...
