Today again I saw a plaintive cry by the originator of a thread for the mods to lock it.

Guys, if you have started a thread, YOU can lock it at any time. You can also delete it with all its comments. Just look at the bottom of any thread you've started and there are the options.

We generally do try and moderate as per the guidelines...

...but being human, with day-jobs to do (for example, I am on a conference call whilst typing this...who said that men can't multi-task???) the odd thing may slip through.

If we modify or remove a post within a thread, then a PM is normally sent to that person with an explanation. Normally it is because the person has used bad language, or started abusing another poster, or is on a wind-up mission, or threw their toys out.

If we lock or remove an entire thread, it's generally because it has gone way off-topic in to the realms of something controversial and probably unrelated to football and has caused virtual handbag swinging or fisticuffs to erupt. Again, a PM is normally sent to the person / people concerned.

It's all very straight forward really... If you are OK with the guidelines and can tolerate a bit of moderation if you go astray, then all is love and peace. If you disagree with the guidelines, are not that keen on moderation and believe that the board should be a free-for-all then there are other Fulham boards that will be more up your street and absolutely nothing to stop you from registering with them.

Horses for courses, and all that.

Talking of which, I travel to Bank every day and it seems like every second there is an announcement about something, and they are getting increasingly banal.

My two favourites are:

"Passengers are reminded to take care when entering and exiting the station".

"Will people leaving the Waterloo & City Line take care to ensure that they have the right ticket on them".

Me and the boy had a good day out with Fred, Kaz and young Kodi (who won the tournament bless her) but alas, he said there's no way back for him. He said hello Blingo.
It was a good day, Denham ladies (U14) came from NW London / Middlesex area to Hertford and played really well, well enough to win it. And although I'm 20 mins away it was great to see a few other FFC mates that came from Woking to support

It slipped right past me, which is embarrassing, since I've been irritating my friends for decades by turning innocent comments into song references.
