Is that our club motto or just the Borough's?

Translates as "for civil and state" so I'm guessing the latter.

If not have we actually got a club motto?

I am pretty sure you are correct sir...it is the Borough's... I just like the old school crest and in many ways would like to see it back at least a few times a year.
And I like Equalizers motto  :54: I was just so pissed late last night reading the on-line London papers and it was all Roy and Liverpool I was getting sick to my stomach and disgusted with the whole mess so I thought I would express my hatred for the bastards!!! :59:  :61: :59:
Our history is much more rich and dignified regardless of their titles.

Very good.

I actually took Latin at school (for a year before they realised I wasn't as clever as they first thought). All I can remember, other than lots of stories about some fella called Caecilius, was getting a b*ll*cking from my teacher for staring at my finger so that it appeared to be invisible.

Ah, the wonderful tales of Caecilius, his wife Matella, son Quintus, dog called Dogmatix and slave called Clemens. It was like a Classical version of Eastenders reading those tales in the original Latin. Caecilius ended up dying in the books as he got crushed by a wall after Vesuvius exploded, covering Pompeii.

I studied the language for 3 years and was nigh on fluent, but that was 20 years ago now. Now all I remember are choice phrases such as 'flocci non facio', which means 'I don't care a hang' / 'I don't give a poo'.

Thanks - I figured the free internet translator might have failed to get the full meaning correct.

So, anyone know if we've got a proper Latin motto?

...destined to always snatch defeat from the jaws of victory - or as Eq correctly translated - Fulhamish...

Of course there is always this classic: "Same Vetus Fulham , Captus Piss"
