Former Siena coach Alberto Malesani would be interested in managing Fulham - report

After being released by Siena, who were relegated from Serie A last season, coach Alberto Malesani is said to be interested in filling the managerial vacancy at Fulham.

Malesani began his managerial career very impressively, guiding then unknown Chievo Verona to promotion from Serie C1 to Serie B and almost getting them up into Italy's top-flight before joining Fiorentina.

A good season with La Viola persuaded Parma to appoint him as their head coach in 1998. He promptly led Parma to UEFA Cup, Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup crowns. In more recent times he had a controversial spell in Greece and was at the helm for Siena's relegation to Serie B last season.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport has reported that Malesani would love to work in the UK, and sees the Fulham job as the perfect opportunity.
