Keeper set to stay

Fulham may have missed their chance to cash in on Mark Schwarzer as Arsenal have turned their attentions to Federico Marchetti.

The Gunners have had one bid of £2m for the 37-year-old Schwarzer turned down already with Fulham holding out for closer to £4m but they may not get it now that Marchetti has become available.

Cagliari have put him up for sale but the keeper, who replaced the injured Gianluigi Buffon in Italy's opening World Cup match and then kept the shirt, believes they have priced him out of a move to Sampdoria, who have had an offer turned down.

That leaves the door open for Arsenal who are looking for a new number one after losing patience with Manuel Almunia and seeing offers for Schwarzer turned down.

The Equalizer

Very good news, as long as another club doesn't come in for him.
"We won't look back on this season with regret, but with pride. Because we won what many teams fail to win in a lifetime – an unprecedented degree of respect and support that saw British football fans unite and cheer on Fulham with heart." Mohammed Al Fayed, May 2010

Showing signs of being human of late. So I have mixed feelings. We will have to find a replacement in another season anyway. Still I am sure the new manager will.....
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Oh yes, I nearly forgot...the new manager!! :005:
Johny's in the basement
Mixing up the medicine
I'm on the pavement
Thinking about the government
The man in the trench coat
Badge out, laid off
Says he's got a bad cough
Wants to get it paid off
Look out kid
It's somethin' you did
God knows when
But you're doin' it again

...Black Mark did make a few 'human' errors, but to be fair that was towards the end of a gruelling 63 match extravaganza. We have been very fortunate with some excellent goalkeepers over the years, but even with a knackered Scwartz he is still the best I have ever seen in between the sticks at Fulham!

PS: If there are any ar$e'n'all fans reading this - he is old past it and rubbish but we need someone to paint the lines on the pitch...
