The 2016 Official Silly Summer Season Transfer Thread

Thought we'd get this kick started early, as we expect a bit of activity from Fulham, as they prepare to rebuild their squad for the 2016/2017 season.

This is the Official Silly Summer Transfer Thread, so please try to share any information here, about any ins and outs that might be happening at the Club.

Report: Fulham target international defender previously on Everton's radar

Fulham are targeting a summer move for Augsburg centre-back Ragnar Klavan, a previous target for Everton, according to a report in Wednesday's Daily Star.

Having steered Fulham away from the Championship's drop zone in his first half-season in charge, manager Slavisa Jokanovic will be keen to put his own stamp on the Cottagers' squad.

A move for Blackburn Rovers winger Ben Marshall was mooted by the Sun on Tuesday, and the Star claims Klavan is also on Jokanovic's shortlist.

The 30-year-old Estonia international, who has 108 caps to his name, has a year to run on his Augsburg contract.

Everton reportedly made contact over Klavan last summer, with the player's agent later revealing his client's dream to play in the English Premier League.

Fulham plotting £1.5 million move for talented Blackburn Rovers star

The former Stoke City winger has impressed for Blackburn this term, and according to the Sun, Fulham intend on tabling a £1.5m bid for him once their transfer embargo has been lifted.

Marshall, who spent time on loan with Sheffield Wednesday in 2011 before securing a move to Leicester City, has been one of the standout performers in another wise poor season for Rovers.

He moved from Leicester to Blackburn after struggling to nail down a regular place with the Foxes, with concerns about his weight and commitment hanging over him during his time at the King Power.

However, he seems to have put that behind him with a string of solid performances this term, and Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic is clearly impressed enough by him to add him to his summer wish list.

Both clubs face a huge summer ahead after seasons of disappointment, and with both clubs having wealthy foreign backing, it will be interesting to see how they act during the close season when it comes to transfers.

Fulham Winger Considering Rangers Move?

What's being said in the forum now? Click to join the Vital Rangers forum!
The Daily Express has said, with what they call an exclusive, that Ben Pringle is 'giving serious consideration' to a switch to Rangers this summer.

Clearly Mark Warburton will be looking to bring in players, there's a history with Pringle too as the Rangers boss tried to sign him when he was in charge at Brentford and he was playing for Rotherham, who wouldn't sell.

Pringle, who is under contract to Fulham for another year, is currently on loan with Championship rival Ipswich with a decision on his future to be made once the season ends on Saturday.

Assuming there's an interest in the 26-year-old given the fact he's still under contract we'll either have to pay a fee to Fulham or be reliant (again assuming he doesn't have a future with the London based club) on an agreement to free him from his contract.

Josh Windass and Matt Crooks have already agreed pre-contracts to sign for the Gers from Accrington this summer with Warburton thought to be in for as many as five close season signings.

Excellent. Hours of harmless fun ahead.
There should be a prize for the most outrageous 'if only' rumour from a recognized source.
Previous winners I can remember having included Sebastian Giovinco, Radja Nainggolan and, my personal  favourite, Thiago Alcântara.
Unfortunately the quality has understandably dropped off since relegation (although I think we had Demerai Gray last year), even more unfortunately many of them came true.

Well here's an article to contribute...

http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/5-premier-league-stars-fulham-need-to-sign-to-mount-a-promotion-push-next-season/5/

Gotta be one of the worst out there; a wonderful mix of unrealistic targets in Borini and Calum Chambers, and the suggestion that Garbutt has had a good season there.

For those who (understandably) can't be bothered to read it, the article thinks we should go for:
1. Garbutt
2. Fabio Borini
3. Wayne Hennessy
4. Maya Yoshida
5. Calum Chambers
The Intertoto might not exist anymore, but that doesn't matter. We'll still win it again.

Plenty of out of favour PL players that would walk into our side. Collins (West Ham), Kalas (Chelsea), Anya (Watford), Guedioura (Watford), Dyer (Leicester), Pritchard (Spurs) to name just a few.

I've heard from a bottle of Hp sauce at motspur park that After new players last season and a new coach and things still not having turn round we are buying a new stadium to try and turn our luck around. Might have to do a swap deal with Chelsea with all the fans flocking to Leicester next year

I like that we are linked with a couple of big, physical players like Klavan, Bastians, Ilsanker... so far. We need to be tougher in this league.

Also a good thing is Joka is looking for players in Germany and here is hoping we expand our scouting to France too, he can find some gems there for sure.

I noted with amusement that the thread started by saying that after Jok had steared us away from the relegation threat.
There is me thinking, hang about, I thought he had steared us even closer than we were before he arrived.

Can we have this one thread without posters moaning about the state of the club or having a go at the manager please. There are are dozens of threads on those subjects for those who still feel the need to vent their anger.

Excellent. This thread will be more exciting than the season we have just had!

Further to my post of about a year ago, the owners of this site should have got a sponsor for this thread. It will probably end up having about 50'000 views. A FFC fan could have got some exposure for a few quid and put coffers into the site. A win - win.

Done by many other forums and some fans sponsor as a laugh and some have a proper business with a link. Think you missed a trick.

I would like this thread to be treated a seriously as possible. No joke stuff & where possible, links to the article it was found in.

Any manager can get the best out of Mitroglou, his time at Fulham was plighted by injuries/mystery, everywhere else he has gone in his career he has been superb.

If that is true then we could face further punishment from the league. It's all a joke considering QPR still haven't paid the league their fine.
