Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target having medical at Celtic

The 19-year-old has agreed personal terms and is undergoing a medical in Glasgow ahead of his move to Celtic Park.

He is out of contract at Craven Cottage and has been linked with a host of clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea, Galatasaray and Paris St-Germain.

According to the Daily Mail, Fulham could receive just £350,000 in training compensation.

Dembele scored 15 goals in the Championship last season prompting a host of interest in his signature.

Arsenal were tracking his progress with a keen interest.

A source told Spanish outlet Fichajes.com: "Arsenal have been interested in him for months, they have watched him in many games during the season.

"They think of him because of [Danny] Welbeck's injury."

Fulham star Ross McCormack believes Dembele will be a steal for the Scottish champions.

"If Celtic manage to sign Moussa, that will be a real coup for them," McCormack told the Daily Mail. "Wherever he ends up this summer, it will be at a good club."

STRIKER HAILED AS NEXT THIERRY HENRY JETS INTO GLASGOW TO UNDERGO CELTIC MEDICAL – SOURCES

Moussa Dembele has arrived in Glasgow to finalise a sensational transfer to Celtic, Football Insider sources understand.
The Fulham sensation will undergo a medical and put pen to paper on a shock switch to the Scottish giants.

Celtic have been able to secure the France Under-20 international for compensation fee of just £250,000 as his Fulham contract expires at the end of the month.

The signing of Dembele is manager Brendan Rodgers' first for the club and represents a huge coup as some of Europe's biggest clubs have been monitoring the youngster.

The 19-year-old was hailed as the next Thierry Henry when he joined Fulham from Paris Saint-Germain in 2012 initially on a three-year contract. The deal was extended by a further 12 months last summer when both parties decided to trigger the option of a 12-month extension.

Dembele had a medical at Tottenham in the January transfer window but the deal collapsed and he returned to west London.

Football Insider revealed in February that Dembele had rejected a contract offer from Fulham that would have quadrupled his wages.

Tottenham were thought to be keen on a return for Dembele once his contract expires at the end of the month, but there has yet to be a fresh approach from Spurs for the striker.

Fulham will now only recoup the £250,000 fee they paid for the Frenchman due to Fifa rules for players moving overseas as opposed to staying in England.

In other Celtic news, the Scottish giants have been told to increase their offer for a key Premier League target.

Moussa Dembele to Undergo Celtic Medical

Reports suggest Celtic have won the race to sign out of contract striker Moussa Dembele.

The in-demand 19-year-old who lead the scoring charts for Fulham last season has been courted by many clubs but it seems Brendan Rodgers may have twisted the promising forwards ear.

If reports are correct, Moussa would be the first Celtic signing under the new boss and would certainly be an eyebrow raiser as well as a statement by the club.

Moussa is a very highly rated striker and could really add something new to Celtic's strike force.

The Frenchman is in Glasgow ahead of the move, if he passes his medical he's expected to sign a 3-year-deal with the club.

What a coup this could be for Celtic.

Oh dear. Going to the Scottish league is a step down from the championship I think. Then there is the Glasgow weather to deal with. I know, I am from there, it gets miserable at times. Another one gone, shame.

ASTON VILLA LAUNCH BID FOR FREE-SCORING STRIKER AFTER DI MATTEO DECISION – REPORT

Aston Villa are reportedly set to make a bid for Championship star Ross McCormack as new owner Tony Xia reveals a striker is their priority.

The Birmingham Mail claim that new manager Roberto Di Matteo has sanctioned a formal move for the highly-rated Championship striker.

It is said Villa are keen to beat their rivals to the signing of the free-scoring McCormack, who scored 21 goals in the recently concluded Championship season.

The Craven Cottage attacker has a £15million release clause after extending his contract in January until 2020, but Villa are expected to bid imminently at below that figure.

It has been reported that Fulham may be willing to cash in on the Scottish international for a price lower than his release clause, even though £2.5million was added to the clause when he signed the contract extension.

After a lacklustre performance in front of goal in the recently concluded season, where the Midlands club only netted on 27 occasions, Di Matteo is on the lookout for a new striker.

It is also reported in the Birmingham Mail that owner Tony Xia has made the forward position his priority ahead of the new Championship campaign.

After Jordan Ayew finished top scorer with seven league goals, Xia revealed that the club is on the lookout for a new striker, but he will not pressurise Di Matteo in the transfer market.

"A strong striker is a first priority for us," Xia revealed to the Birmingham Mail.

"I don't want to put too much pressure on the manager. He is the one who has the ability to get things done."

Villa have already made a move in the transfer market with the signing of Bournemouth captain and defender Tommy Elphick as reported by Football Insider.

A move for 29-year-old McCormack would mean Villa getting a striker who scored on 21 occasions in the recently concluded Championship season.

Everton to revolutionise problem era with transfer deal for gigantic Championship ace

According to reports from The Liverpool Echo, Everton are chasing a cut-price transfer deal for Fulham goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.
The Netherlands international worked under new Toffees boss Ronald Koeman at Southampton last season, making 17 Premier League appearances amid Fraser Forster's injury layoff.

He's now returned to parent club Fulham but they could sell the 33-year-old for as little as £1million this summer to get him off the wage bill – and Koeman is eyeing a reunion at Goodison Park.

However, with long-term No.1 Tim Howard departing to the MLS and Joel Robles struggling to convince during the latter portion of the season, Stekelenburg won't be Koeman's only goalkeeping acquisition this summer.

The Liverpool Echo claim the 6 foot 6 shot-stopper will be signed to understudy and provide competition to the new No.1 he's planning to sign during the summer transfer window.

England international Joe Hart was linked with the Merseysiders last month, whilst Chelsea's Asmir Begovic was mentioned in February.

Fulham star 'almost certainly' the first signing of Koeman at Everton

Reports in the English media has suggested Everton boss Ronald Koeman wants to sign Fulham goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.

There are similar reports in Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, but they've gone one step further and claim Stekelenburg is 'almost certainly the first reinforcement for Koeman at Everton'.

The Liverpool Echo reckon Stekelenburg would be a back-up option for Koeman next season, whilst De Telegraaf believe Stekelenburg could replace Tim Howard, and naturally expect a more important role.

The Netherlands international spent the last season on loan at Southampton, and was heavily involved for the Saints after an injury to Fraser Forster.

It is reported Everton could complete a deal for the 33-year-old for a nominal fee, as he has just another year left on his contract at Fulham.

Koeman and Stekelenburg first worked together at Ajax, and a reunion seems to be very likely.

And when was Stekelenburg a "Fulham star"??
