The £2.13m-rated Fulham striker who would make an excellent addition to Nottingham Forest's play-off push next season

It's been a tough season for Nottingham Forest and there's hope that Mark Warburton can turn things around over the summer months.

The former Brentford and Rangers manager, who masterminded the Reds' safety on the final day of the season, has lots to think about as he looks to rebuild a Forest side that has seriously struggled this season.

But part of that will be moving out the deadwood, some of which has struggled at the club for years now.

But there's one man that we at the FLW think could make a huge impact down at the City Ground next season and that's £2.13million-rated Fulham forward Sone Aluko.

The former Birmingham youngster has never been renowned for scoring 30 goals a season, but he's a seriously pacy outlet upfront, and we've seen the best from him this time out.

He's scored nine goals and created 12 goalscoring opportunities this season which makes for decent reading, but it's his movement off the ball and around the forward line that makes him so good going forward.

The Nigerian international has a wicked turn of pace which has seen him cause problems for many defences this season.

He's proven to be one of the best pieces of business made last summer, joining the Cottagers on a free transfer and performing very well indeed.

But at 28-years-old, the forward should now be hitting his peak and should the right offer come in for his services, Fulham may decide to move him on.

Forest need some real striking talent going forward and he could be the sort of man that really fits the bill.

The Chelsea duo that Fulham need to ensure they seal deals for this summer

Fulham's end of season form saw them storm into the Sky Bet Championship's play-offs at the expense of Leeds United, and under two weeks ago, many were predicting Slavisa Jokanovic's side to seal promotion back to the Premier League.

However, a 2-1 aggregate defeat to Reading condemned the Cottagers to another season in the Championship, leaving Fulham's late season push for the play-offs a distant memory.

The future of players like Tom Cairney and Ryan Sessegnon is now being discussed in the media, with a host of top-flight clubs interested in taking the duo away from Craven Cottage this summer.

Fulham have also benefitted from having two Chelsea players on-loan this season, with Tomas Kalas and Lucas Piazon playing important roles for Slavisa Jokanovic's side.

Both are expected to leave Chelsea permanently in the summer, and Fulham must look to bring the duo back to Craven Cottage next season, particularly after the impact they have had in West London this year.

Kalas has been impressive in defence, making 40 appearances for the Cottagers, whilst Piazon was influential early in the season and made 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals.

Both players have stated they would be happy to return to Craven Cottage next summer, as Fulham prepare for another promotion challenge in the Championship.

It will be difficult for Fulham to retain the service of Cairney and Sessegnon, with big money offers from the Premier League, likely to be too good to turn down, meaning it will be essential that Jokanovic keeps the rest of his squad together.

Re-signing Kalas and Piazon, who have both shown glimpses of their class at Craven Cottage, should be one of Jokanovic's first pieces of business.

Fulham's Luca De La Torre insists it's down to business for the US U20s after his point saving goal against Ecuador

The Fulham man celebrates his 19th birthday today and is hoping for US World Cup glory this summer in South Korea

Luca De La Torre insists it's time his US U20 squad gets down to business in the U20 World Cup after his last gasp goal rescued a point against Ecuador.

They ended up drawing the game 3-3, with the Fulham man setting up Josh Sargent for his first goal while he showed ice cold composure to smash home the equaliser in the last minute of injury time in their Group F game in South Korea yesterday.

He celebrates his 19th birthday today and Fulham have high hopes for the midfielder after seeing Ryan Sessegnon and Dennis Adeniran make senior appearances this season and will be pleased by his performance for his home country yesterday.

The US still have to play Senegal and Saudi Arabia, and De La Torre insists that the draw felt like a win and they can really get down to business now.

He told FIFA.Com: It's not really a matter of being calm or not, it just came to me, you hit it and it goes in.

Luca De La Torre and Daniel Ayala battle for the ball (Photo: PA)

"At half-time, we felt like, despite being 2-1 down, that we were the better team and we knew that if we came out and played well that the game was ours to win.

"Unfortunately that didn't happen, but we still showed that we deserved to win the game, in the end.

"We're mentally strong. You can't count us out of anything. It doesn't matter if we're 4-0 down, we'll still have a chance of coming back.

"It felt similar to our first game of qualifying against Panama where we lost 1-0 against a ten-man side. I feel like you only get one of those in a tournament, and if you take a second one and have a second game like this, then you're out.

"We took one of those games in qualifying, but we ended up winning the whole tournament. We've taken our tough game now. It's down to business."

Fulham 2016/17 review: After a strong start September is a harsh welcome back to reality for the squad

We look back at a tough month as Fulham went without a win in all games, including one of the heaviest losses of the season at home to Bristol City

If August wiped away the worries of pre-season, September offered a harsh welcome back to reality for Slavisa Jokanovic's new look squad.

Fulham didn't manage a single win and struggled to hit the back of the net in what was a stark contrast to the first month of the season which had seen them into second in the division.

They suffered one of the worst results too, when Bristol City smashed them 4-0 at Craven Cottage only days after dumping them out of the EFL Cup too.

After starting the month in second, they finished it in 12th and had it all do to in the coming weeks.

Here's how it panned out.

September 10 - Fulham 0-1 Birmingham City
It was a first defeat of the season for Jokanovic's side as Clayton Donaldson missed one penalty before smashing home his second to give Birmingham three points.

Michael Madl was booked for the first penalty and then he received his marching orders for a second booking after he brought down Donaldson in the 44th minute of the tie.

The manager took responsibility for the many mistakes his team made after the game but insisted Fulham would continue to play out from the back.

September 13 - Fulham 1-1 Burton Albion
The league's new boys came to the big city three days later and went home happy after securing a point at the Cottage, although they would've been frustrated it wasn't more.

They led the tie since the 51st minute when Jackson Irvine hit the back of the net and they looked on their way to their first ever away win in the Championship.

But Fulham piled on pressure and up stepped 16-year-old Ryan Sessegnon to bundle home in the third minute of injury time to save a point for the side.

September 17 - Wigan 0-0 Fulham
Another weekend and another draw for the Cottagers - this time away from home against recently promoted Wigan Atletic.

Wigan had lost their previous four games while Fulham were unbeaten away from home, which continued for Jokanovic's side despite not hitting the net in this tie.

The result saw Fulham drop out of the top six while Wigan remained in the relegation zone.

September 21 - Fulham 1-2 Bristol City
Fulham crashed out of the EFL Cup after Tammy Abraham scored a last minute goal to secure victory for the Robins.

Lucas Piazon had given the hosts the lead before Aaron Wilbraham restored parity just before the break for Bristol City.

As was the case for the season, Fulham missed a penalty when Cauley Woodrow had his penalty saved but the on-loan Chelsea man for Bristol made sure his side went through when he scored his ninth goal in eleven games.

September 24 - Fulham 0-4 Bristol City
It was deja vu at the Cottage three days later as Bristol visited in the league, but the performance and result couldn't have been more different.

Bristol ran riot, with Tammy Abraham scoring in the tenth minute to get his tenth of the season, while Luke Freeman hit the target in the 60th minute to double the lead.

Bobby Reid made it three and then things got worse as Kevin McDonald was given a straight red after he tackled Callum O'Dowda.

Aden Flint made it four late on to give Bristol their first victory since they beat Aston Villa on August 27.

It was Fulham's fourth game in the league without a win.

September 27 - Nottingham Forest 1-1 Fulham
Fulham ended the month at the City Ground and were the recipients of Nicklas Bendtner's first goal for Forest when he put them in front on the hour mark having already hit the crossbar earlier with a 25-yard-strike.

Tom Cairney equalised for the visitors after Forest failed to clear their lines but it was five games without a win for Fulham as they ended September.

Jokanovic said after the game: "My team showed a reaction after the embarrassing game against Bristol City but I am disappointed we didn't score a second and win the game. We created enough chances to have won the game but if we stay calm then the goals will come."

"Im calm" – Fulham interest not going to player's head yet

At the weekend, Fulham were one of a number of clubs linked with Kenan Kodro. It would have been a very strange rumour to pluck from thin air, so it certainly appeared this one had been pushed to the media.

Initial English claims linked Bolton Wanderers and Bristol City, along with Fulham, but it was the London club who caught attention in Spain. Diario de Navarra were impressed with the interest from 'classic Premier League club' Fulham, whilst Bolton and Bristol were almost mentioned in passing.

Kodro, 23 years of age, has a buyout clause of €25m, but no club is ever going to pay such an amount for the Osaunsa player. The centre forward scored seven goals this season, as Osasuna were relegated from La Liga.

In light of the Fulham claims, Marca have published some quotes from the player. Quizzed on the recent rumours, Kodro is quoted as saying: "I'm calm. I have a contract with Osasuna. I'm very happy here."

Given Fulham's January search for a striker showed their target list is pretty much endless, it would be no surprise if Kodro is one of the many players on it.

Rising Stars: Ryan Sessegnon heading for the top but shouldn't rush to move

Fulham won't be playing in the Premier League next season, but with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham circling, Ryan Sessegnon might just be.

When Fulham crashed out of the Championship play-offs against Reading last week, it was a blow for more reasons than one.

The Whites entered the lottery on the back of a strong end to the season and had won plenty of admirers courtesy of their vibrant attacking football, but they now face a battle to keep hold of several of the men that have been key to their success.

Manager Slavisa Jokanovic has been linked with jobs in the Premier League that could soon become available, and captain Tom Cairney has been among the Championship's finest performers all season, but it's Ryan Sessegnon that is the most in-demand player at Craven Cottage.

Virtually every top-flight club has cast an eye over teenager, who only turned 17 last week and thus has only just become eligible to sign a professional contract. The vultures that have been circling west London since this time last year can finally sweep in.

As such, Fulham's defeat at the Madejski Stadium was a real boost to those vying for the full-back's services. With Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham all rumored to be interested, you could forgive Sessegnon for having his head turned.

Arsenal already have Nacho Monreal, Kieran Gibbs and have agreed a deal to sign Sead Kolasinac from Schalke, while Tottenham have Danny Rose and Ben Davies, but that is not to say either club is not still interested in a player with his career still ahead of him.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have played James Milner at left-back this season and are definitely in the hunt for at least one specialist this summer. And some believe Sessegnon is already good enough to be a first-team regular in the Premier League.

However, it's important to remember that he still has a great deal to learn.

After all, while Scott Malone is a very capable defender at Championship level, the fact that Sessegnon has been used in rotation by the Cottagers this season should serve as a reminder not to expect too much of the England youth international too soon at such a tender age.

In that respect Jokanovic has handled the situation wisely, starting Sessegnon just 17 times in the league, making his appearance in the PFA Championship team of the season somewhat farcical albeit a sign of just how good he is.

He was an unused substitute in the first leg of the play-off with Reading and a second-half substitute in the second. The manager knows that too much pressure on his young shoulders would not be helpful to his development.

Nevertheless, Sessegnon hasn't disappointed when he has been called upon, and it's his maturity in possession for a side that has been a joy to watch at times in the second tier that will have attracted interest from the country's top teams.

An 81.8% pass accuracy may not appear particularly noteworthy, but for a Championship full-back it's superb, and for a player of his age it's a commendable figure at any level.

His team-mates certainly don't lack faith in their junior colleague, and for a side that looks to attack down the flanks the youngster's pace has been a valuable asset, both at full-back and further upfield on the wing, where he started five times this season.

Understandably at his age, he stands out for his work in possession and on the attack more than he does at the back

His experience in a physical league will stand him in good stead, but Sessegnon certainly isn't one of these monster teens that must have hit puberty before they hit the books at secondary school. He looks 17 and as such looks out of place taking to the field at times.

However, his willingness to show for the ball or to make a run beyond the opposing full-back to get Fulham in behind means he certainly doesn't look out of place come kick-off.

Completing a dribble every 81.1 minutes and key pass every 108.1, the threat Sessegnon offers in the final third is evident.

Indeed, it's his performances further forward on the left wing that have perhaps most caught the eye, with three goals – including a brace at league champions Newcastle – and an assist contributed in five appearances. Overall he has five goals and three assists, which from 1622 minutes of action is not to be sniffed at.

His ability to pick up goalscoring positions is one of his greatest assets. He has averaged a shot every 55.9 minutes, and when just taking his appearances at full-back into account that's still at an impressive 74.3 minutes per attempt at goal.

All that said, Sessegnon doesn't shirk his defensive responsibilities with his speed ensuring he can still have a say at both ends. His average of a tackle every 41.6 minutes is actually second only to Scott Parker at Fulham – yes, he's still around – and further indicates that he does have the tools to become a top player, if there was any doubt.

For the time being he needs to keep his feet on the ground, but that shouldn't be an issue for an unassuming boy.

"He is a quiet lad, but his mind is clear. He is focused on improving and being ready for the games in front of us, Jokanovic told the Evening Standard earlier this month.

"In the future, if he keeps doing what he's doing, he will be at the highest level. In front of him is something like 18 to 20 years as a professional and it is better for him to go step by step."

There seems to be no question that Sessegnon will get his chance at the very top sooner or later, but having just turned 17, he should certainly be in no rush.

de la Torre On Target

Luca de la Torre scored a last gasp equaliser for the USA in their Under-20 World Cup opener against Ecuador.

It was their first match in the South Korea Tournament, and they face Senegal next followed by Saudi Arabia.

de la Torre's 94th minute strike made it 3-3 at the Incheon Football Stadium, earning a vital point in for the CONCACAF Champions, it was the latest goal ever scored by the USA at an Under-20 World Cup.

The Stars and Stripes went 2-0 down early in the match and fought back to bring the game level through debutant Josh Sargent, who scored a brace.

Ecuador put their noses back in front in the 64th minute, and looked certain to take all three points until the USA crossed a ball into the box late on.

A South American defender headed the ball 14 yards out in an attempt to clear any danger and de la Torre pounced on the opportunity, hitting the ball first time on the half volley past the keeper, earning what could prove to be a crucial point for his national team.

In the other group match Senegal beat Saudi Arabia 2-0, increasing the importance of the result in their next game.

You can watch the highlights from the USA v Ecuador at the Under-20 World Cup, including de la Torre's goal here.

The next Under-20 match for the USA is on Thursday 25th May at midday (BST).

What defenders should Fulham sign as they look to strengthen their defence ahead of next season?

The club are on the lookout for a defender next season - we've taken a look at five players the club could sign to bolster their defensive ranks this summer

Fulham are looking to boost their squad ahead of next season and work is well on the way behind the scenes to secure some of the club's top targets.

After missing out on promotion via the Play-offs with defeat to Reading, the club need to strengthen in most departments in order to achieve their target of automatic promotion in next season's Championship.

The defence is key to next season's target - Fulham shipped 57 goals last term and one of their best defenders, Tomas Kalas, has returned to Chelsea after his loan expired.

We've had a look around and come up with five defenders that would add that bit more steel to the Fulham defence next season.

Harlee Dean (Brentford)
This one would be sure to annoy the neighbours from Griffin Park but Dean and Fulham would be a very good fit indeed.

The centre back has come on leaps and bounds at Brentford in recent years, going on to become their captain and played a pivotal role in the heart of defence in the previous couple of seasons.

He's a similar sort of mould to Kalas, he's strong, good in the air and is a leader, something that the Cottagers lacked this season in defence.

However, his pace lets him down, but should Fulham look for a strong defender to compliment a fast one, Dean may be the perfect fit.

He would probably be available for the right price too - Brentford have always shown a willingness to do business if the price is correct, as they did with David Button last season, so if Fulham had any interest this may well happen.

Harlee Dean (Photo: Gareth Davies)

Marc Roberts (Barnsley)
The Barnsley captain has been one of the standout players of their season back in the Championship and he made the most clearances in the league out of any defender this season.

He helped the side keep 12 cleansheets, making 43 appearances and has the know-how of English football having been through the divisions with Halifax Town and Barnsley.

He's been linked to a host of Premier League clubs and Barnsley could struggle to hold onto him this summer - Fulham could do a lot worse than strengthening their defence with the 26-year-old.

Captain fantastic: Marc Roberts (Photo: Nathan Stirk/Getty Images)

Francesco Vicari (SPAL)
The 22-year-old Italian defender has already been linked to Fulham this summer and has just won promotion to Serie A with SPAL in Italy.

He's considered one of the most promising youngsters in Serie B and his stock will have rise even further after winning promotion with SPAL, a side which had no non-Italian players in it.

Vicari is good with the ball at his feet and looks comfortable in possession, all things that will tick the boxes of both the analytics department and scouts at Craven Cottage.

Target: Francesco Vicari (Photo: Marco Luzzani/Getty Images)

Aaron Pierre (Wycombe)
Pierre has been a solid fixture in Wycombe's side since signing from Brentford in 2014.

He's physical, strong and very good in the air and should be playing at a higher level than the one he currently finds himself in.

He was actually in Fulham's youth team before he was released, where Brentford snapped him up until his release in 2014.

Boss Gareth Ainsworth has lived in fear for some time that his star centre back will leave the club eventually, and a step to Fulham to be the apprentice to Tim Ream could be a decent next step for him.

Wycombe Wanderers' Aaron Pierre.

Kortney Hause (Wolves)
The 21-year-old signed for Wolves from Wycombe in 2014 and is highly rated at Molineux, making 30 appearances at the club this season.

He's been called up to England U21s previously, embarking on their training camp last week and is another who is good with the ball at his feet and is extremely strong.

Hause was disciplined by the club previously for allegedly not being in a fit enough state to train, but since then has stepped up his performances and he could on to play at the top level.

Where are the Fulham players heading on international duty this summer?

Several Fulham players have been called up for international duty, with Tom Cairney getting a call up to face England at Hamden Park

The season may be over for Fulham's players in a white shirt, but the football doesn't stop there as they jet off for international duty across the world.

There are World Cup qualifiers for the European players, while Fulham's African contingent have Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers to compete in.

Tom Cairney was called up to the Scotland squad yesterday to face England in the most eagerly anticipated of the ties in June but there were call-ups for other members of the squad too.

Here's where everyone will be jetting off to in the coming weeks.

Floyd Ayite - Togo
Ayite is in action for Togo as they start their qualification for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations against Algeria on June 13, as well as two friendly games against Nigeria on May 31 and Comoros on June 3.

He's made 34 appearances for Togo, scoring eight goals and he will be hoping to add more to his name as Togo start their qualification having been knocked out of at the group stage last time round.

Togo only scored two goals in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and Ayite will be hoping he can add more goals to their side after a decent season with Fulham.

Neeskens Kebano - DR Congo
Kebano will be travelling back to DR Congo this summer to face two home games, one in a friendly and one in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

His first game will be against Botswana on June 3 in a friendly match before they face Congo a week later on June 10 in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

DR Congo finished top of their group in the 2017 competition before they lost in the quarter finals to Ghana, with Kebano scoring once in the competition during the 2-2 draw with the Ivory Coast.

Tom Cairney (Scotland)
Cairney has been called up to the Scotland squad for their World Cup qualifier against England at Hampden Park.

It's the biggest tie of the international break and one that Cairney will be relishing winning a cap in after getting his first against Canada during the last internationals.

Chris Martin, who has returned to Derby, will also be in the squad after he was called up by Gordon Strachan.

Stefan Johansen (Norway)
The new Norway captain has been called up for his side's World Cup qualifier and friendly games in June.

Norway face a qualifier against the Czech Republic on June 10 before playing a friendly match three days later against Sweden, both of which are at home.

They've only won once game so far in qualifying, and that came against San Marino in a 4-1 win.

Lasse Vigen Christensen (Denmark U21s)
Christensen has been called up to Denmark U21s squad for their European U21 Championships in Poland this summer.

They're in a very tough Group C along with Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic.

They first play Italy on June 18, before facing games with Germany on June 21 and Czech Republic on June 24.

Middlesbrough installed as favourites to land Fulham boss, Sunderland also keen

Slavisa Jokanovic is a wanted man this summer, with north-east clubs interested, according to bookmakers

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has been installed as the favourite by Sky Bet to become the new Middlesbrough boss.

The Whites will be desperate to hold on to him after a successful season, just missing out in the play-offs against Reading.

Fulham were the most entertaining side in th Championship under Jokanovic in the last campaign, according to statistics.

Middlesbrough, relegated from the Premier League, are now seen as frontrunners to land Jokanovic, with Sky Bet offering 7/2 odds.

He also has odds for the vacancies at old club Watford (18/1) and now Sunderland (9/1), also relegated from the top flight.

Leeds United may regret missing out on Fulham's Floyd Ayite in 2015

Leeds United reportedly balked at Floyd Ayite's asking price back in the summer of 2015but two years on, his Fulham side helped ruin Leeds' play-off hopes.

Floyd Ayite may have taken his time to hit form in Fulham colours. When he did, however, it was worth the wait.

Arriving on a three-year deal from Ligue 1 side Bastia in the summer, as reported by ESPN, it took the powerful forward 13 games to open his account in the Championship. However, after exploding into life with a clinical brace in December's thrilling 4-4 draw with Wolves, the Togo international has not looked back.

He ended his debut season with nine Championship goals and a major cog in a thrilling Fulham attack only equalled by champions Newcastle United and Norwich City last season. Add another seven assists to his output and Ayite was one of the most versatile and productive forwards in the second tier last season.

As a result, his Fulham side stormed into the play-offs while Leeds United dramatically dropped out with just a few games remaining.

Looking a million dollars

Therefore, the fact that Leeds were determined to sign him in the summer of 2015 only pours further salt onto the wounds. The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that Ayite, then of Rennes, was the out-and-out winger former Leeds boss Uwe Rosler wanted at Elland Road.

However, as he was likely to cost upwards of £1 million, Leeds turned their attentions elsewhere.

And, two years on, owner Massimo Cellino's reluctance to meet Ayite's asking price looks like a mistake. After all, Chris Wood was the only Leeds player to score more than Ayite last season while only Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe can match his impressive tally of assists.

With the club's lack of creativity costing them dear in April, losing three games without scoring, you cannot help but wonder if Leeds would have been contesting the play-offs with Ayite driving down their wing.

Former Liverpool and Fulham bosses lead the way in next Crystal Palace manager betting

Roy Hodgson and Chris Coleman are the early frontrunners for the job

Sam Allardyce has sent shockwaves through Crystal Palace by telling the hierarchy of the club that he is ready to quit the club.

Allardyce, who left England after just 67 days in charge, is now set to quit the Eagles after just five months in the hotseat.

The former Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United boss came in after Alan Pardew was sacked and remarkable wins over champions Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal towards the end of the season helped to save the club from relegation.

But what next?

A former Palace favourite is one of the early frontrunners for the job according to the bookmakers, with Wales head coach Chris Coleman at 4/1 for the job.

Could the Eagles go for another former England manager? Roy Hodgson is also 4/1 for the role, with former Premier League winner Claudio Ranieri available at 9/2.

Ryan Sessegnon would be a brilliant buy for Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be lining up a £12 million bid for the Fulham defender.

Tottenham Hotspur could secure a brilliant bargain buy, if they snap up Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham for just £12 million.

Tottenham are said to have been tracking Sessegnon for some time, and according to the Sun, Fulham realise they may lose their prized prospect.

Sessegnon has been in wonderful form in the Championship this season, scoring five times in 25 league matches.

And the youngster looks to have all the capabilities required to make a step up to the top level.

For £12 million, Sessegnon also looks to be cheap - in the current market.

A 17-year-old with as much talent as Sessegnon could be worth considerably more than £12 million in the years ahead, and he could be Spurs' first choice left-back for many seasons.

In comparison to other transfers of a similar nature, Sessegnon also looks to be well priced.

Manchester City Join Race For This English Sensation: Can Pep Turn Him Into A Superstar?

Manchester City have made their way into the Champions League for the next season as well and are now looking to make a mark in the prestigious competition. Their coach Pep Guardiola has been monitoring a number of players during his first season as a manager in the English Premier League and quite a few have caught his eyes. One of them is the young prodigy from Championship side Fulham, Ryan Sessegnon.

The 16-year-old is currently considered as one of the best young players in England and has attracted interests from a number of big name clubs including the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool. Manchester City has also joined the race to bag the English youngster from Craven Cottage to play for them in top flight football next season.

Manchester City did not have a very good season given their high standards in the Premier League this term. Defence has been a major area of concern for The Citizens and has been a detriment in their way of owning a silverware throughout the season. Pep Guardiola is desperate to bring in a good full back into the team during summer who can play for them for quite a long time, and Sessegnon looks to completely fit his bill.

With their 31-year-old left back Gael Clichy being out of contract in the summer, The Citizens will undoubtedly be eyeing someone young and having a great prospect like the English full-back. Reportedly, Manchester City has no plans to offer a new contract to their French left-back Clichy with the French international already confirming his departure from his current club after this season, with Crystal Palace having a keen interest in securing his services.

Sessegnon, on the other hand, has not yet agreed to sign a new deal with his current club Fulham and might be available for the taking in the summer. Apart from Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool are also eyeing to bring in the youngster into their team once the summer transfer window is open.

Fulham is also looking to keep the 16-year-old left back with them for the next season, although they might find it very tough to lure the full-back to stay put at Craven Cottage, given the fact that they will be staying in the Championship for the next season as well. Fulham were beaten in this season's Championship Playoffs semi-final by Reading who will be playing the final against Huddersfield to make it to the top flight football next season.

Is This Fulham Starlet The Man To Solve Liverpool's Left-Back Problems?

For just the second time in seven years, Liverpool have managed to qualify for the Champions League and this will mean that they will attract some top quality stars to the club in the transfer window. But Jurgen Klopp, the current manager is more interested in players who fit in his system at Anfield and the latest name doing the rounds is Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon.

The London club have used the 17-year old regularly at left-back this season and he has been productive in that position, picking up seven goals and three assists in all competitions this season. He is versatile and has also been used in an attacking winger's role, where he excelled and at just 17, he is a star for the future.

A number of clubs including Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in his signature but reports suggest that Jurgen Klopp is desperate for him and will do all he can to land him this summer.

An attacking full-back by trait, Sessegnon is an excellent passer of the ball and is usually smart with his movement at both ends of the field. Even at his age, he is not afraid to put in a crunching tackle and is adept at tracking back even in the 90th minute of the game.

His key pass ratio is something a midfielder will dream of and though he still has to work on his crosses, he is a player who will fit in well at Anfield. At his age, he already has a matured head on his shoulder and though a jump to the top flight might be too challenging, having someone like a James Milner to learn from will definitely make him a star at Liverpool.

The Reds have used the veteran, versatile midfielder at left-back this season, and to good effect. Milner has been solid at the back for Liverpool, solving their problems in that position in the recently concluded season and at just 31, could be the first choice next season as well.

And Sessegnon can act as an understudy for the English star and can learn from him in his first season at Anfield. Liverpool are in the Champions League and cannot afford to thrust the teenager into the mix as yet but the left-back position has been an age old problem for Liverpool and Sessegnon can solve it for decades to come.

Fulham may not be able to keep him, with offers flying in from all corners so it might be up to the player to choose his destination and at the moment, there are very few clubs better suited for him than Liverpool. The Spurs are also desperate for his signature and Klopp will have to act fast to snap him up.
