I have never got excited, even as a kid about football shirts. They are what they are. Sponsors are much the same thing. We live in a capitalist society that feasts on our weakness. The only people with money are gambling sites so why not have them support us. As much as I would love to take the moral high ground. Fact is if it was a bank or a big company or a holiday company or a fast food company.  None of them are worth putting up to scrutiny. They all have something to hide.

Bottom line, it's a shirt with a name of a sponsor on. People stop noticing it the second match into the season. But don't tell the sponsors that.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

The thing is, we may have had betting companies sponsor the club in the past but, as of late, its been very controversial partly because the top tier clubs have been hit with a wave of betting sponsors. Something like more than half of the competition are now sponsored by them.

I understand, money is money and the club will take whoever pays the best but would the club accept a sponsorship offer from an p*rn website even if they were prepared to pay the highest amount? Of course not! Think about the kids...

Kids are impressionable and if they see their favourite stars play with shirts sponsored by gambling companies, it normalises them to a practice that eventually has a chance of ruining lives.

Thats why Im 100% against this new sponsor and find it quite ironic that this is a team that is proud of being a 'family club'

What about the betting shops in the stadium? Or the people drinking alcohol? Or the people smoking outside?
I get your point about kids being impressionable, but it's not like they're going to see the casino name on the shirts and then sneak out for a game of blackjack after the match is it.
Although I find alcohol and smoking companies accountable for so many peoples lives lost and find it disgusting that anyone would openly drink or smoke in front of children, I find gambling firms especially bad.

All advertising is phycological, its there to remind people people of the product/service they sell so that later on, if there is a need for said person to buy something, chances are, they'll go to the one they recognise. Now, of course, kids wont sneak out for a game of blackjack after seeing the match, but, the sponsor normalises it through their regular appearance on the front of TC's shirt and when you have kids out there who base their predictions for a match from bookies' odds, you know you have a problem.

Thats also why I'm against betting shops in stadiums, why I mentally block the word 'Skybet' from the Championship and also why I turn off the tv during sport breaks

i much prefered the visitFlorida sponsor but its not the worst in the world. anyone know if there is any truth in the away kit being a different sponsor?

Says they are the first team sponsor so would assume they have their name on both kits.

Are you suggesting we have a back of the short sponsor?

Also like that the name and numbers in the back at also black so no other colours

Disgusting! fancy taking money from an outfit that does something legal in the real world.
I certainly won't be buying one until we are sponsored by the Salvation Army (although I'm not sure about the 'Army' bit, sounds a bit aggressive.)....and when they produce them in 'Zeppelin' size.

Chutney

I like the new kit, yes its just a template, but the colours work nice, and getting rid of the blue sponsor is excellent.

It looks a bit Primark to me. The shirts on sale will be of inferior to the players shirts. They won´t have all the badges & were probably made in a sweat shop for £3.

Yes it's worth pointing out to those who don't know that the badge is not actually sewn onto the shirt, rather has been sewn separately then been glued on. Very sneaky cost cutting by adidas, at yet they put the price up by 5 quid...

Why is the goalkeeper kit more expensive than the home shirt? Or has this always been the case?

Long sleeved shirts are generally more expensive.

That was the first kit I saw Fulham play in - white shirts, black shorts & black 'stockings (so called then!)' with white tops!
