This solid Chelsea player is the perfect replacement for Tomas Kalas at Fulham

The performance of the English defence in the country's U20 World Cup semi-final win over Italy was extremely impressive, with the back four dominating their Italian counterparts for 88 minutes of the game after being breached in the second minute.

The Young Lions took accountability for their early slip up, and remained an imposing wall to ensure their more attacked minded colleagues secured a place in the final with three devastating goals.

Young Chelsea prodigy Fikayo Tomori was a standout performer in the heart of the English defence, and his no nonsense nature ensured an impressive outing for the young man who spent time on loan with promoted Brighton last season.

Having made his Stamford Bridge bow in 2016 with a rare outing against Leicester City, Tomori is in dire need of first team football, and another loan move to the Championship is sure to be on the agenda.

Fulham narrowly missed out on promotion last season after a play off semi-final defeat to Reading, and with Tomas Kalas set to return to Chelsea when his loan deal expires, boss Slavisa Jokanovic will be on the lookout for the Czech's replacement.

Chelsea have placed great faith in their local rivals this season, having shipped Kalas and Lucas Piazon to Craven Cottage, the Blues will trust the Cottagers with the nurturing of their young stars.

Jokanovic should exploit this relationship, and bolster his squad with the signing of Tomori.

Born in Canada, Tomori has seemingly pledged his international future to England, and a full season in the Championship is exactly what Tomori needs to launch a bid for Premier League football.

Having achieved promotion with Brighton last season, the 19 year old already boasts a winning mentality, and victory in South Korea will only further his credentials.

Jokanovic will hope to launch another promotion push next year, and will look to install a winning culture within his squad.

Adding Tomori to the mixture will go a long way in achieving this.

Fulham target chooses Leicester City as he looks to leave National League side Chester FC

Fulham had scouted the defender extensively last season but the 20-year-old has decided to make the move to Leicester City

Fulham target Sam Hughes has chosen Leicester City over a move to the Cottage.

The Chester FC defender, who Fulham had scouted extensively last season, has agreed personal terms with Leicester and looks set to complete his move to the 2015/16 Premier League champions imminently.

The 20-year-old had a stunning season for the National League side outfit at left back, and Slavisa Jokanovic's side had been one of the forerunners for his signature towards to first part of the campaign last year.

Interest cooled slightly, but the club continued to send scouts to monitor the progress of the left back as the season progressed.

Barnsley had a £80,000 bid rejected in January while Swansea decided against making a transfer deadline day move for him, but Hughes has now got his dream move to the Premier League in a deal reported to be worth £125k.

General Election 2017: If Fulham had to create a Cabinet, who would hold what position?

It's the day after the General Election, and while no one has got a majority we've created a Fulham Cabinet we think would do a decent job of running the country

It's the morning after the General Election and the country is currently coming to terms with what the election means - will Theresa May continue as Prime Minister or is turmoil about to unfold?

Over on the sports desk, we're thinking of a easier and more simple Election, one where instead of a cross for May or Jeremy Corbyn, the electorate put a cross next to the name Slavisa Jokanovic of the Fulham FC party.

"Making Fulham great again."

We're sure he'd get a landslide election win, we'd certainly vote for him and who wouldn't? The man looks the way the next James Bond should - effortlessly cool and dripping in style.

In this hypothetical world where Jokanovic wipes the floor with May and Corbyn on the political battleground, who would make up his Cabinet?

Foreign Secretary, Chancellor of the Exchequer and Justice Secretary are all positions that would need to be filled, so in the wake of the election we've had a look at who might fill them.

Prime Minister - Slavisa Jokanovic

Obviously, the man making Fulham great again would be the Prime Minister - he's done a fantastic job last season and will be ready to lead from the front and inspire the people.

The PM: Slavisa Jokanovic (Photo: Lewis Darling)

Chancellor of the Exchequer - Tony Khan

The brains behind the scenes, Mr Khan would be our Chancellor as he looks to balance the books and come up with a Budget that would allow Jokanovic to sign the players he needs and wants.

Home Secretary - Stuart Gray

Fulham's senior head coach would be our man in charge of home affairs - he has the experience of looking after the squad under Jokanovic and we think he'd do a decent job in protecting the interest of the country at home.

Foreign Secretary - Javier Pereira

Jokanovic's number two who has followed him from Watford, to Maccabi Tel Aviv and now to Fulham and would have the experience needed to deal with countries as Britain's Foreign Secretary.

He's got the experience around Europe to do a decent job of this we reckon.

Defence Secretary - Tim Ream

The heart of Fulham's defence this season, Ream would be our choice for Secretary of State for Defence, responsible for the defence of the country.

Completely defensive minded, he seems the perfect candidate for the job in our Fulham Cabinet.

Tim Ream - Defence Sec?

Justice Secretary - Kevin McDonald

The midfield anchor and the enforcer in Fulham's midfield, our pick for Justice Secretary would be the Scotsman.

He makes sure justice is served in the midfield on matchday on the opponent's midfield pack, despite never really getting into trouble with the referee - he'd do a good job in the Cabinet.

Education Secretary - Huw Jennings

The club's Academy Director is the right man to take on the position of Education Secretary in Jokanovic's government.

He is in charge of the young players at the club and in a previous life he used to be a teacher, so we couldn't think of a better person that Jennings to take on the mantle of this Cabinet position.

Health Secretary - Marco Cesarini

This one is fairly obvious - who better than to be Health Sec than Fulham's Manager of First Team Medical and Sports Science, Marco Cesarini.

He's got a wealth of experience in dealing with injuries, and while managing the NHS might be a whole different kettle of fish compared to a sore muscle, we think he'd be alright.

Work and Pensions Secretary - Scott Parker

The elder statesman at Fulham, although technically he is out of contract at the moment, Parker would be our man to fill this role.

He's been on the scene for years now so will know what is required for the work side of the job, while the pensions side will come as a breeze to man who has been around as long as Mr Parker.

Leaders among men: Slavisa Jokanovic (L) and Scott Parker

Transport Secretary - Denis Odoi

It looks like he may well be on his way back to Belgium, but Odoi gets our vote to be Transport Sec on the basis he drives a Mini Cooper alone.

Enough said.

Environment Secretary - Ragnar Sigurdsson

Coming from a country as beautiful and as stunning as Iceland means Sigurdsson knows exactly how the environment should be, so on the basis that Iceland's country is possibly more beautiful than ours, he's the man for the job.

Culture, Media and Sport Secretary - Tom Cairney

Judging by Cairney's social media, he is definitely a man of culture from his viewing of Celebrity Love Island amongst other things, so we've put the talisman in as Culture, Media and Sport secretary.

Odds drift on Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic taking up the reins at Crystal Palace

Reports in the national media had said that the Serbian was Palace's top target, but he looks to be staying at the Cottage

The odds on Slavisa Jokanovic being the next Crystal Palace manager have drifted since reports suggested the south London club were considering him for the role.

Reports in the national press reported that the Fulham boss was one of Palace's top managerial targets to replace Sam Allardyce, along with ex- Fulham gaffer Chris Coleman.

However, GetWestLondon reported that the Serbian was happy at the club having received assurances from the Board and was not looking to manage elsewhere at that particular moment.

And that has been echoed with the bookies, who have currently priced Jokanovic as a huge outside bet at 33/1 - with 26 managers ahead of him with SkyBet, including outgoing manager Allardyce.

If we look at his odds for the other vacant jobs, he's currently 28/1 to be the next Leeds boss, 33/1 to be the next Middlesbrough boss, which is the same odds as Steven Gerrard, and 28/1 to be the next Sunderland gaffer.

Fulham return to training in the coming weeks and Jokanovic will be busy preparing to ready his side for the upcoming Championship season.

Tottenham Hotspur odds-on favourites to sign Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon according to bookies

It doesn't make good reading for those of you who hope the 17-year-old will remain at Fulham next season

Ryan Sessegnon will be going to Tottenham Hotspur from Fulham this summer, if the bookies are to be believed.

Betfair have the north London club as odds-on favourites to sign the 17-year-old wonderkid this season and are offering prices of 4/9 to see him in a white jersey next season.

It's not good reading if you're hoping to see him remain at Fulham, with the bookies offering prices of 15/8 for him to still be a Fulham player when the Transfer Window closes.

There's a few other teams knocking about in Betfair's odds too, with previous front runners Liverpool drifting to 20/1 after they were reported to have pulled out of the race for his signature.

Current team mate, Stefan Johansen, has recently been quoted in the Norwegian press, claiming he could go on to be one of the best players in the world in his position.

Talking to Nettavisen , he said: "He's a huge talent. He got the chance on a good team in the Championship and delivered insanely well.

"He is a big, big talent. The sky is the limit for him. He may become one of the world's best in his position.

"He is an incredibly down to earth person who works hard every day. His future seems very bright."

The list of odds in full are:

Spurs 4/9

To stay at Fulham 15/8

Everton 14/1

Man Utd 14/1

Arsenal 20/1

Liverpool 20/1

Man City 33/1

Southampton 33/1

Newcastle 33/1

West Ham 33/1

West Brom 33/1

Celtic 50/1

Barcelona 100/1

Real Madrid 100/1

How does Chris Martin view his future at Derby County? Here's what he said

Chris Martin has been speaking about how he sees his future at Derby County.

The striker is expected to report back for pre-season training with the Rams later this month, having spent the majority of the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Championship rivals Fulham.

Current Derby manager Gary Rowett is expected to make big changes to his squad over the summer but has said that Martin is part of his plans.

"I've spoken to Gary Rowett on a couple of occasions and everything has been positive," he told The Scotsman.

"You never know. I could go back in pre-season and things could change, it can change quickly in football - but he's making all the right noises.

"There was a period of adjustment and I'm sure there will be changes over the summer, as happens at most clubs. But I'll be back on June 28 and we'll go from there."

Martin has scored 63 goals for the Rams since arriving on a free transfer from Norwich City.

He netted 11 times during his time at Fulham, helping them reach the play-offs.

Martin is currently on international duty with Scotland, who take on England at Hampden Park in a World Cup qualifier today (Saturday, 5pm).
