Fulham transfers: Every player linked with a move to Craven Cottage this summer

There's been a lot of names linked with Fulham this summer already, here's who they are in a handy list

It's the first day of pre-season training, but transfer window madness is well and truly upon us, with everyone wanting to know who the first new face will be.

Despite there still being weeks left of the window, Fulham have been linked with a number of players, ranging from the possible to the downright ridiculous.

In case you've had trouble keeping up with everyone that has been linked with the club (and let's be honest, even we're struggling to keep up), we've combined every player into a handy list for you to look at to keep things ticking over.

They won't (and can't) sign them all, with Fulham only looking for quality that will add to the squad, but here's who they've been linked with.

No doubt there will be more to come...

Josh Scowen
The Barnsley midfielder rejected a new deal at the club this summer, meaning he is available on a free transfer.

Fulham were among a number of clubs interested in signing the 24-year-old, although it looks like he may be off to QPR according to reports.

Steve Mounie
Fulham made a bid for the Montpellier striker, but are facing stiff competition from recently promoted Huddersfield Town.

They've had a bid accepted and it looks like the Benin international could be on his way to Yorkshire, with a fee of around £11million being branded about in the national press.

Rui Fonte
Another striker that Fulham bid for, the 27-year-old has spent the last season playing for Braga in the Portuguese league.

According to the press in Portugal, Fulham's bid was knocked back and it remains to be seen whether they will be back in for him.

He fits the bill of what Slavisa Jokanovic is looking for, a forward who can play up top or on the side of a front three.

Diego Rolan
Fulham have made a bid for the Bordeaux man, with the President confirming there had been bidas for the striker.

It looks they'll face competition from Germany for his signature though, with Cologne, Leverkusen and Schalke looking at him.

Jackson Irvine
Reports in the Australian press suggested that Fulham were after the Burton midfielder, although boss Nigel Clough has said that there's been no bids as yet for the star.

He has been away with the Australian team recently, but with a full Fulham midfield at present it looks unlikely they'll move for him.

Tomas Kalas
The one ever Fulham fan wants back at the Cottage - the side have been in talks with Chelsea over a fee for the Czech international, although Hull have had a bid accepted.

He seems to want to come back to Fulham, but they'll have to agree a deal quickly in order to get him.

Marcelo Djalo
A 23-year-old centre back from Lugo, it looks likely that Djalo will be signing for the club having spent most of career playing the lower reaches of Spanish football.

He was previously signed by Juventus, but never made an appearance for the side.

Ricardo Avila
Reports from Belgium claimed that the Panamanian U23 international had signed a pre-contract agreement with Fulham back in May.

It's all gone a bit quiet on this front, with Avila back in training with Gent at the moment.

Dan Crowley
Reports suggested that Fulham were leading the queue of English clubs interested in signing Arsenal's youngster, although it seems he wants a move to the continent instead as it suits his style of play.

Several German clubs are after Crowley, so it wouldn't surprise us if he heads there this summer.

Kenan Kodro
The national press had linked Osasuna striker Kodro with Fulham, along with Bristol and Bolton.

It seems he is set for a move to Dutch side Groningen, so he won't be bolstering Fulham's front line this season.

Mathias Jorgensen
A rumour started doing the rounds that Copenhagen's captain was going to join Fulham having told the Danish side he was leaving for pastures new.

However, there is no interest in him at the moment and would cost Fulham some serious money if they were to try and get him.

Sam Hughes
Chester's left back, Fulham had scouted him extensively throughout last season.

However, this deal is dead in the water after he signed for former Premier League champions Leicester.

£2.13m-rated Championship man could be Fulham's ideal Cairney replacement

Fulham suffered Play-Off heartbreak last season after their first serious push for a return to the Premier League since their relegation from the division in 2014 ended in failure.

Manager Slavisa Jokanovic must rally his troops ahead of the new campaign, but may have to do so without influential midfielder Tom Cairney, who has been linked with a number of Premier League sides.

The Serbian manager might need to replace his star man, who scored 13 goals and laid on a further 10 assists during the most prolific season of his career.

The former Hull man was one of the best players in the league last season, and a big money Premier League move is a just reward for the form shown by the Scottish international.

Jokanovic will need to replace the Scot, and will find this extremely difficult to do.

A number of names will be on the shortlist of the manager, but one wildcard could emerge as a solid piece of business this summer.

Norwich City's Youssouf Mulumbu – valued at just £2.13m on Transfermarkt – has fallen out of favour at Carrow Road, and will leave the club this summer when his contract expires in the coming weeks.

Mulumbu was a Premier League regular with West Brom from 2009-2015, and impressed in the Baggies midfield throughout his six-year spell in the West Midlands.

The Democratic Republic of Congo midfielder is still only 30, and if he can rediscover the form he showed at West Brom, he could be a surprise at Fulham next season.

Available on a free, the marauding midfielder represents a low risk, high reward alternative to Cairney, and Jokanovic should consider offering the player a contract this summer.

From France: Fulham leading the race for versatile 22-year-old defender

Freshly relegated from Ligue 1 to National, France's third-tier, in the space of about a month, SC Bastia are in a lot of trouble.

Already relegated to Ligue 2 via the standard route of finishing in the bottom two, the Corsican side were then dropped another tier after failing to comply with regulations set by the DNCG, the organisation set up to monitor the accounts of French football clubs.

Each club needs to pass their demands at the end of the season, which Bastia failed to do, meaning Fulham could very well profit from the likely mass exodus.

The Championship club, who reached the playoffs last season, are said to be leading the race to sign Bastia defender Alexander Djiku, according to FootMercato.

One of the French website's journalists, Constant Wicherek, released the information on Twitter, claiming the Cottagers were the 'hottest' to sign the 22-year-old.

With Dennis Odoi's Craven Cottage future a doubt after a rejected bid from Gent in the Belgian right-back, it could be that Slavisa Jokanovic is keeping an eye for potential alternatives were the 29-year-old to leave, adding depth in the middle as well.

Despite missing a chunk of last season with a fractured arm, Djiku was one of the regulars for Bastia throughout their poor Ligue 1 campaign, making 24 appearances in all competitions both in the centre and on the right of the defence.

Report: Fulham among a number of Championship clubs linked to Werder Bremen keeper

Reports in the German press have linked Fulham, along with a host of other Championship clubs, to the Werder Bremen stopper

Fulham are among a number of Championship clubs that have been linked to Werder Bremen keeper Felix Wiedwald.

Reports in the German press have linked Fulham, along with QPR, with the German stopper who has reportedly asked to be released by Werder Bremen as he seeks a move abroad.

Leeds United, Norwich, Wolves and Nottingham Forest are also said to be interested, although it seems likely he will move to FC Nantes, according to the reports.

Bremen finished eight in the Bundesliga last season with Wiedwald playing 26 times in all competitions, with a contract extension being triggered which would keep him at the club for another season.

But with both David Button and Marcus Bettinelli at Fulham, it looks unlikely that the club would make a move for another goalkeeper at this time.

Sessegnon & Edun Call-Up

Ryan Sessegnon and Tayo Edun have been named in the England U19s squad for the forthcoming European Championship.

The Fulham duo will travel with England to Georgia to compete in the UEFA U19 European Championship, a competition the Young Lions have come close to winning in the past having previously been runners-up on two occasions.

England are in Group B alongside Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Germany and only the top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-final stage.

Head Coach Keith Downing and his squad will kick-off their campaign against Bulgaria on Monday 3 July in Tblisi.

Then the youngsters will meet the Netherlands – who boasted the meanest defence in qualifying, conceding just one goal in six matches – on Thursday 6 July.

The group stage concludes against Germany, the only former winners that will appear in Georgia, on Sunday 9 July.

Huddersfield beat Fulham to the signing of Steve Mounie according to Montpellier Chairman

Fulham had made a bid for the striker but he has opted to join David Wagner's Premeir League new boys

Huddersfield have beaten Fulham to the signing of Montpellier's Steve Mounie, the French club's Chairman has confirmed.

The Cottagers had bid for the Benin international, but he has decided to join newly promoted Huddersfield Town with the lure of the Premier League too strong for the 22-year-old.

Laurent Nicollin, chairman of Montpellier, confirmed that the striker had joined the Terriers on a four-year deal, subject to a medical, with a fee of €13million plus bonuses agreed between the two clubs.

Mounie scored 14 goals last season in Ligue 1 in France, as well as providing two assists for the club as they finished 15th in the division.

Meanwhile, the club remain optimistic that they can reach a deal with Bordeaux for striker Diego Rolan.

Why Everton's move for ex-Fulham youngster Josh Bowler could be win-win for QPR

The 18-year-old is said to be close to securing a move to Goodison Park, but despite the disappointment of losing a hot prospect, the silver linings are clearly visible.

The news that Everton appear close to finalising a move for QPR winger Josh Bowler has been met with a distinctively mixed reaction from the Hoops faithful.

Despite only making one first team appearance to date, many seem disgruntled about the club appearing to be in the process of moving on one of their hottest prospects.

However if the move materialises, it shouldn't be all doom and gloom in West London.

Bowler is without a doubt a top talent, and if given the right coaching, environment and opportunity to impress, he has every opportunity to become a top-drawer player.

But for a club such as QPR, who aren't exactly flush with cash, now many be the right time to cash in.

We don't know the figures that are being discussed for Bowler's transfer fee, but I could take a guess that it'll amount to somewhere in the region of £4-5m.

For a Championship side such as QPR to receive that sum for a player who not only isn't deemed to be a first team regular, but is far from the finished article, seems to be a good deal.

The youngster has every opportunity to become a star, but given the club's current situation, that transfer could be used to bring in two decent Championship signings, players who will be expected to play first team football week-in week-out.

If Bowler does stay at the club, it'll be a huge boost as the club can help him fulfill his undoubted potential, however if the move to Goodison Park does materialise, it could be a move with clearly defined silver linings.

Fulham target Marcelo Djalo set for medical ahead of proposed move from Lugo

The 23-year-old is in London ahead of a move to Fulham with his medical set for this week

Fulham target Marcelo Djalo is set to undergo his Fulham medical this week ahead of a move from Lugo to Craven Cottage.

GetWestLondon understands that the 23-year-old is in London ahead of a medical, which is due to take place this week as Fulham look to bolster their defensive options.

Despite suggestions he would be an U23 signing, we have learned that Djalo is being signed with the view he would be in the first team and would join his team mates in the first team training squad once the transfer is complete.

He played 25 times for Lugo last season, scoring two goals as they finished they finished ninth in the Spanish Segunda Division, winning 14 matches while losing 15.

Fulham set to take another step towards signing Spanish defender

Sky Bet Championship club Fulham are closing in on the signing of CD Lugo defender Marcelo Djalo according to Get West London.

The 23-year-old Spanish centre-back is thought to have been on Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic's wishlist for several weeks and a deal is said to be close.

It has been reported that Djalo has travelled to England with a view to completing his move to Craven Cottage this week and the player will undergo a medical at the West London club.

The Barcelona born defender started his senior career in the lower divisions of the Spanish game with Badalona after failing to make the grade as a scholar with European giants Real Madrid. After making just 21 appearances for the Catalan side, scoring two goals the player was snapped up by Granada and the defender went on to feature in the B Team at Los Carmenes.

In August 2014 after just one year with Granada, Djalo secured a big move to Juventus however the player failed to break into the first team picture at the Italian club and was loaned out to former club Granada, Girona and UCAM Murcia.

Djalo signed for CD Lugo on a permanent deal last summer and the journeyman is now set for another stab at establishing himself at a big club by moving to Fulham.

We really have no idea how much of this is pure journalistic speculation and how much is clubs just testing the water.
We do know that it is painful for the fans.
Why oh why cannot the window be shorter and close a week before the start of the season and thus eliminate a few weeks of this needless rumour mongering.
