Couple of points of order!:

Charlie Mitten, although born in Asia and gaining fame (notoriety) in South America was as English as they come, although not getting a  full cap.

Now I'm on dodgier ground with Tony Macedo who was definitely Gibralterian, but he got a load of caps for England u23 and was only deprived of a full cap by a weak decision by the FA.
So although you are undoubtedly right to including him among the 'foreigners' and although he would be my number one pick even in that esteemed company, I'll be picking EVDS as a matter of principle! (Tony would be between the sticks in my Fulham ENGLISH XI.)

Not sure youth caps count when it comes to this sort of thing. People can change nationality for the senior team. I'll take your word on Mitten.

It's s very strong position so would it make you feel better if I removed him?

I can't remove Macedo who was born outside of England and was never capped by England's first team.

Apprentice to the Maestro

Can we add Karagounis please.

Also it would be quite interesting to try to put together a team with no two from the same country.

Thats a great idea and a thread for another day. Maybe next week? I'll add the Greek for ya (the one who actually played for us)

No, no. You're quite right about Macedo. Officially not-English. It's just that the way he was treated has bugged me for the last thousand years.
Interestingly, until recently he would, under FIFA regs, be entitled, as someone born in Gibraltar to chose between any of the 4 UK home nations. This may have changed recently as Gibraltar now field their own representative side. In any case Tony would probably be  bit too old now to represent anyone (probably still better at cutting out a cross and diving at the feet of an onrushing forward than some of the static muppets of today!)

Mitten was, quite simply, English.

Consider Mitten removed for being English

Alternative reject World XI (sorry this goes against your OP but it got me thinking of the most obscure and worst XI we've ever had):

Somogyi
Zverotic  Halliche  Senderos  Manolev
Kakuta  Gecov  Dikgacoi  Chihi
E Johnson Kuqi

Southcoastffc

Some very tough calls but I've plumped for

Schwarzer
Finnan
Hangeland
Goma
Bonnisel

Johansen
Malbranque
Boa Morte
Best
Saha
McBride

I've really not much idea of what formation they'd play (4-2-4 or 4-6?) but my team talk would just be "Go out there and play!"
The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

Barrett487

Mark Schwarzer
Steve Finnan
Moritz Volz
Alain Goma
Brede Hangeland
John Collins
Steed Malbranque
George Best
Jimmy Conway
Gordon Davies
Louis Saha

I'm assuming you're joking so lol.

I set out to give just 6 options per position but in the end gave up and listed as many as I thought needed to be there. I'd be a bit worried if any of these were actually in anyone's 'best' Fulham Eleven.

Favourite........well that's a different question. Everybody loves a Dirk Lehmann in their team lol
