Nottingham Forest eye Fulham keeper Bettinelli

HITC Sport understands Nottingham Forest are keen on the Fulham goalkeeper.

Nottingham Forest are interested in Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Forest boss Mark Warburton is in the market for a new goalkeeper as he looks to strengthen his goalkeeping options at the City Ground and Bettinelli is thought to figure highly on his wanted list.

Forest have Jordan Smith and Stephen Henderson on their goalkeeping books, but Warburton is looking to bring in a new No.1 as he looks to improve on last season when they narrowly avoided relegation.

England Under-21 international Bettinelli's future at Fulham is up in the air with the keeper playing second fiddle to David Button for most of last season following his arrival from Brentford last summer.

Bettinelli won his place back in the Fulham starting XI in April and started the last eight games of the season, including the two Championship Play-Off semi-final ties against Reading.

The 25-year-old is keen to be playing regularly at this stage of his career and if that does not happen at Fulham he could consider moving on.

Bettinelli, who has come through the ranks at Fulham, still has two years to run on his current deal at Craven Cottage and it remains to be seen if Fulham would consider letting him leave this summer.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST PLOT RAID FOR FULHAM'S BETTINELLI

Nottingham Forest are keen on signing Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, according to HITC.

The news outlet claims that Mark Warburton is "in the market" for a new shot-stopper this summer and that the Cottagers' 25-year-old is one of his top summer priorities.

Jordan Smith and Stephen Henderson are expected to battle it out for a starting spot in Warburton's plans next season, but HITC reports that he is looking for a new No 1 choice between the sticks.

It is understood that Bettinelli is currently unsettled at Craven Cottage as he has been playing second fiddle to David Button in recent times.

The report adds that the former Accrington Stanley loanee is willing to quit Fulham if assurances aren't made about his future role at Forest's Championship rivals.

Bettinelli made just 13 appearances across all competitions for Fulham last season, but conceded in every single game he played as the Cottagers reached the Championship play-offs.

He featured in both legs of the semi-final clashes with Reading, only to see his side lose 2-1 on aggregate after failing to keep a clean sheet.

Nottingham Forest notably struggled at the other end of the table last season and only managed to avoid relegation thanks to a last day win over Ipswich.

The Reds' struggles were compounded by their lack of depth in the goalkeeping area after Henderson suffered a serious ankle injury in February and missed the rest of the campaign.

Nabay has been with Aldershot training at Bath University in the latter half of this week after featuring for the north Hampshire team in friendlies against Brentford and AFC Totton.

After Bath, the Shots play Hampton & Richmond Borough away on Saturday followed by Staines Town on Tuesday before welcoming the Chelsea Development side to the EBB Stadium on Wednesday.

The midfielder is spending pre-season with the Shots but has been described by the Cottagers as a 'powerful central midfielder' with the Championship club admitting they are expecting "big things" of him.

The promising youngster, who turns 19 on Saturday, August 5 – the first day of the National League season – is still under contract at Fulham and so it is expected any move for the midfielder would be a loan one.

Reading bid for Nottingham Forest 'target' David Button

Reading boss Jaap Stam is keen to sign David Button, say reports

Championship rivals Reading have lodged a bid for ulham goalkeeper David Button – a man who has been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest.

Reading, fresh from their Championship play-off final defeat to Huddersfield are set to lose their number one stopper Ali Al Habsi to Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal, and have instead turned their interest to the Cottagers number one, according to reports.

Reds boss Mark Warburton knows the 28-year-old well from their time together at Brentford, with the latter leaving Griffin Park for Fulham a year ago.

Forest have been linked with a whole host of goalkeepers throughout the summer, with Button and his Fulham teammate Marcus Betinelli the latest.

Interest is growing in Fulham's Marcus Bettinelli

The Reds have seen the likes of Bettinelli and Liverpool's Adam Bogdan all rumoured to be attracting admiring glances from Warburton, who signed under-23 keeper Liam Bossin earlier this week after his release from Anderlecht.

In fact, Bettinelli was the man who replaced Button towards the end of last season and both have been linked with moves away from the Cottage this summer.

Bettinelli, 25, who progressed through the youth ranks in West London, making 11 appearances for the Whites and has two years left to run on his current deal.

The former England under-21 international has also been linked with a move to Forest's Championship rivals Bristol City.

Transfer Talk: Fulham to enter negotiations for Newcastle target Diego Rolan's Bordeaux team-mate Maxime Poundje

The left-back, who plays for French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux is said to be attracting interest from the West London side, as well as a number of other Championship clubs.

Fulham are set to open negotiations with French defender Maxime Poundje, according to reports.

The left-back, who plays for French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux is said to be attracting interest from the West London side, as well as a number of other Championship clubs.

The 24-year-old is a team-mate of forward Diego Rolan, who is reported to be in negotiations with Slavisa Jokanovic's men.

The French club's hierarchy earlier this week and has reportedly expressed his desire to speak to the Whites ahead of a move to England.

The striker, who scored nine goals last season, only has one more year on his current deal at Bordeaux, so a fee will be involved and Fulham have money to spend as they bid to return to the Premier League after missing out on promotion in the play-offs last term.

Piazon Joins On Loan

The Club is delighted to announce that Lucas Piazon has returned on a season-long loan from Chelsea for the 2017/18 campaign.

Brazilian Piazon joined on loan last season, initially until January but the deal was extended until the end of the season which saw Piazon play a key role in the side that made the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Semi-Finals.

The 23-year-old scored on his debut against Bristol City in the EFL Cup and went on to make 29 league appearances for Fulham, impressive considering he fractured his jaw in February against Cardiff but returned to action just over a month later against Derby County.

In total Piazon scored six goals and provided four assists for the Club across all competitions.

The attacking midfielder joined Chelsea in the summer of 2011, and in his first season he helped them win the FA Youth Cup and was named the club's Young Player of the Year.

His first three senior appearances for Chelsea came in high-scoring games during the 2012/13 season, as he played in 6-0, 5-4 and 8-0 victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester United, and Aston Villa, respectively.

Piazon went on loan with La Liga side Malaga in 2013, where he played in the UEFA Champions League for the first time and reached the Quarter-Final stage with the club before being knocked out 3-2 on aggregate by Borussia Dortmund.

He then spent a season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem and scored 11 times to help them finish sixth in the Eredivisie for the 2013/14 season, before helping Eintracht Frankfurt to ninth in the Bundesliga during another loan spell in 2014/15.

Piazon's first taste of Championship football came two seasons ago as he played 27 times for Reading, scoring five goals for the Royals before joining Fulham on loan last August.

He is also capped at Brazil youth level, playing up to the Under-23s, in 2014 he helped Brazil Under-20s win the Toulon Tournament.

Speaking to fulhamfc.com Lucas expressed his delight about returning to Fulham.

"I believe it is a very good move for me," he said. "And I am very happy with the decision.

"There is a certain feeling of unfinished business. It felt like I must come back and help the team to reach what we were chasing last year, so it will be a very exciting season.

"This is the first time I will spend two seasons with a club. I am excited to see the boys and get back into training."

The 23-year-old had one year to run on his current terms, signed in the summer of 2015, and has now recommitted to the Premier League champions.

Piazon impressed at Craven Cottage, initially arriving on a short-term deal before having it extended, scoring on his debut before going on to make 29 Championship appearances.

"I believe it is a very good move for me and I am very happy with the decision," Piazon told Fulham's official website.

Fulham make 'concrete offer' for defender, negotiations currently underway

Tracked by the likes of Newcastle United and Sunderland back in December, there is still a strong possibility that Bordeaux's Maxime Poundjé will be playing in England next season.

The left-back spent most of last season in and out of the Ligue 1 club's squad, suffering from seemingly recurring achilles tendon problems and only made 10 appearances overall.

Despite this, the 24-year-old is still attracting interest and has apparently received a 'concrete' offer from Fulham in the Championship, according to Sud-Ouest in France.

While they managed to hold onto Ryan Sessegnon for a while longer, the departure of Scott Malone to Huddersfield for just over £3m means the Cottagers need another player in that position, as the trust in Sean Kavanagh doesn't appear to be there yet.

Sud-Ouest also reveal that, as well as making the player an offer, Fulham have started speaking to Bordeaux about a deal for Poundjé, meaning negotiations are under way.

The defender has been given the green light for an exit by his current club, who renewed his contract ending in 2017 back in January for two more years, most likely in order to get some money for him this summer.

CHELSEA TO PLAY FIRST PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY TODAY

Chelsea are to face Fulham today in a 'behind closed doors' friendly as the club's pre-season preparations get well underway.

Closed off friendlies are not uncommon at this time of the season and it's likely to be a Chelsea XI made up of younger players, or those returning from loan who have not been included in the squad to face Crawley.

It's unlikely that a host of first-team players will be involved against the Championship outfit as the Premier League champions put in the final preparations before flying out on their tour of China, however, a number of players could get a runout.

The friendly is just a day after Fulham completed the loan signing of Lucas Piazon.

The Brazilian, who spent time at Craven Cottage on loan last season returns to the Championship side after putting pen to paper on a new contract at Chelsea.

For Fulham, the game also provides them with a chance to field some younger players and possibly a number of trialists.

Diego Rolan to Fulham, latest from France: Forward has travelled back to London

Fulham's long time and international search for a quality forward appeared to have struck possible gold when Diego Rolan was landed upon, an ambitious transfer of a talented player and one which may, just may, be achievable.

Rolan is completely different to most of the previous targets. For one, he's been heard of outside the circles of regional Belgian football.

Since the initial claims, however, things have stuttered somewhat.

Bordeaux have Rolan on a contract until June 2018 so are very prepared to sell to Fulham, that's not an issue, it's the player's desire which is problematic.

The Uruguayan isn't exactly running to sign for Fulham, Saturday's edition of L'Equipe says the player is 'hesitant'. He won't appear for Bordeaux today in a friendly because he's been authorised to travel to London for more talks with Fulham.

That's the second time Rolan has now travelled, meaning that whilst he may be hesitant, it's a definitely maybe.

Bordeaux would receive around €7m from the sale of the forward, and they're not bothered where he ends up.

Whilst Newcastle United have been mentioned in the English media, there's no mention of them in the L'Equipe report.
