Fulham Football Club announces grosvenorcasinos.com

Fulham Football Club is delighted to welcome grosvenorcasinos.com as Main Team Partner. The two-year deal will see the grosvenorcasinos.com logo displayed on the playing shirts worn by the Club's First Team and PL2 side as well as designation as the Club's official betting and casino partner for the duration of the partnership term.

Today's partner announcement is made in conjunction with the official unveiling of the Club's new and stylish adidas Home Kit, which will be worn this Saturday for the first time when Fulham hosts VfL Wolfsburg at Craven Cottage in a pre-season friendly.

Grosvenorcasinos.com is a leading and fully UK licensed online casino and sports betting provider, offering over 300 casino games, live casino tables and a substantial range of in-play betting markets. The brand has been operating for over 40 years and is the UK's biggest casino operator, entertaining and exciting players across the nation.

As well as presence on the playing shirts, the grosvenorcasinos.com branding will appear prominently around Craven Cottage on the Club's new and improved LED system, as well as exclusive branding at the Putney End stand.

Fulham FC's extensive media and social media platforms will help enhance awareness of the Grosvenor Casinos brand, to both domestic and international football audiences – as well as assist Grosvenor Casinos, raising the profile of its sports betting, online casino and online poker products.

Casper Stylsvig, Chief Revenue Officer of Fulham FC, said: "I am delighted to welcome grosvenorcasinos.com as Main Team Partner.

"We are thrilled to have a partner on board which matches our ambition of delivering a first class service and experience and we look forward to working together."

Henry Birch, Chief Executive of The Rank Group plc, which owns grosvenorcasinos.com, said: "Grosvenorcasinos.com is delighted to be part of Fulham FC's charge back to the Premier League as Main Team Partner.

"Both the Club and Grosvenor Casinos have strong brands and proud histories and we look forward to working together and supporting the Club and fans."

I think the sponsor goes well. I know it's gambling but nobody complained about encouraging obesity in kids with pizza hut so for me if the club get a good deal and the sponsor looks good and fits in with the kit then I'm happy.

Plus the kids ones will have no sponsor so there's will look even more traditional and Fulham.

The fact is betting and booze birng in the money and anyone turning that down would be remiss. If the company took say Twinnings Tea for 100k and turned down 500k from betting or booze people would complain.

Its a good deal and seems to be Casper Stylsvig having an influence on the income stream. Long may it last

It's a revenue stream and the club will take it. Not fond of it myself, but which innovative club brought betting and gambling companies onto football shirts for the first time in 2002???

Yep us and betfair were the first betting company shirt sponsor in the U.K. , Middlesbrough were next with 888.com

And Jimmy Hill campaigned to stop the wage cap for Johnny Haynes and now look at the wage structure.

It's all Fulhams fault. You can't get more Fulhamish than that lol

Ignoring logos for a moment - I like the design - looks quite simple

Holders

Another naff sponsor - but it has to go to the highest bidder. At least the shirt is black and white.

Squad looks poor, enough of the negatives.

Kit looks fantastic - about time we appreciated a kit that we have all been shouting for. Great design, true to our colours and even the sponsor logo colour matches the shirt. Best kit we have had in years.

Well done all concerned.

Flume

This is from a totally aesthetic point of view, but I personally think having a '.com' on our kit just makes it look like were in the 90s and 00s and not in a good way. I've already ranted about the sponsor so I wont do so again.

Just a question about the sponsor. Kids get sponsorless kits, u18 team gets sponsorless kit.
Advertising to under 18s of gambling is irresponsible.. so what does Ryan Sess wear when he's playing in the senior team? Can an under 18 advertise over 18 products and services?

With the plethora of gambling companies out there, I'm assuming it's possible but is it ethical ? Granted sponsorship goes to highest bidder though

That's a good (and amusing) point that.

From an aesthetic point of view, the sponsor's logo fit really well with the shirt. I like it!

Much better than a black/white/red kit with a blue logo!!!
I was there, standing in the Putney end

Given the huge sums of money we pay these days on wages and players. Would a chairman rejecting the few hundred thousand for a casino to sprawl their name across the front of our shirts and stadium be such a bad thing?

Surely we would gain more shirt sales, have less negative brand connotations with gambling, etc and also the team looks much more stylish on the pitch!

I realise 500k or whatever it is is a lot of money for me (the old student life...) but compare that to the price of football and couldn't the chairman write it off one year and audit the rise in sales and public opinion?

I oculdnt care less if it was.co.uk, .com, .net or any other . ... as long as they are paying a good price.

Not being funny but you dont like the ponsor so it cant be purely from one aspect

At least they will know where to look for the players after training.

I think "public opinion" is strongly for the best possible deal for the club. One could manufacture a grievance against pretty much any commercial organisation for one reason or another.

How many extra shirt sales would a adult shirt without a sponsor make, 50, 100? With the club making less than a tenner a shirt thats hardly going to fill a gap. And the season after when the club decides to take this sham-moralistic post-1980 football is rubbish stance again, thats another half million not going into the budget.

It i sbecause of those huge sums we pay that we need to maximise our revenue streams via sponsorship. If we didnt then we would not be able to afford some of the players we have. These days chairman cannot just pu money in for the sake of it, the dreaded FFp put pay to that. Even under Mo I doubt we could have done what he did in this current climate.

I dont see a negative brand at all I see a marketable product, which will aid both parties.

nose

personally I am against gambling so have a sense of uneae with a casino being our sponsor
I didn't like it when it was betfair either.
I do not like sponsorship on shirts but i feel sure I will blank it out just like I did all the others
I hope we have enough players to make printing a few shirts worthwhile.
