Ive had an online poker account with these guys for quite a while . Seem one of the decent and honest ones to be fair. Quick to pay back your winnings, far fewer bad beats and almost zero punters calling it a scam or rigged as per poker stars and full tilt etc..
I take it they will take over the betting at the ground too ? As long as they stay open and pay up at full time, then they get my vote.

Another naff sponsor - but it has to go to the highest bidder. At least the shirt is black and white.

But that shirt could be easily lost on a gambling table.

Given the huge sums of money we pay these days on wages and players. Would a chairman rejecting the few hundred thousand for a casino to sprawl their name across the front of our shirts and stadium be such a bad thing?

Surely we would gain more shirt sales, have less negative brand connotations with gambling, etc and also the team looks much more stylish on the pitch!

I realise 500k or whatever it is is a lot of money for me (the old student life...) but compare that to the price of football and couldn't the chairman write it off one year and audit the rise in sales and public opinion?
It i sbecause of those huge sums we pay that we need to maximise our revenue streams via sponsorship. If we didnt then we would not be able to afford some of the players we have. These days chairman cannot just pu money in for the sake of it, the dreaded FFp put pay to that. Even under Mo I doubt we could have done what he did in this current climate.

I dont see a negative brand at all I see a marketable product, which will aid both parties.

I agree with you wholeheartedly,
It's just that I wish we could not have afforded, Sigurdsson and Djalo.

I think this shirt is finally what everyone has been waiting for; I think it's good enough to gain promotion subject to injuries but now we have cover for all positions.

Would be nice if we could have the choice to buy an advert free shirt if we wanted to, even if it was a little bit more expensive.

Do you turn off the tele every time an ad shows gambling (bingo e.g.), alcohol, fags in films etc?
Blimey turn a blind eye

I once came across 2 Cyclops fighting. I asked them why were they fighting, and they replied, that they didn't see eye to eye.

Reminds me of good ol Tommy Cooper story
Long story so a short cut:
Took out a woman and met on Waterloo bridge - she cocked one eye at me, and I cocked one eye at her.....
There we stood - cockeyed

Speaking of which, Sky Bet do not allow under 18s to wear the skybet league badge, you'll see its empty on Sessegnons sleeve, however they don't enforce the same rule when it comes to shirt sponsorship. Maybe it's club discretion.  Interesting to see the inconsistencies.

This is just an observation and an opinion.

In today's world, you can't seem to go anywhere or do anything without being bombarded with obscenities or with what some would perceive as an offensive advertisement.  It's just pretty much impossible.

For those reasons, I find it important to talk to my kids so that they understand what is right and wrong, what is considered obscene and offensive, and what the dangers of things like betting and alcohol can lead too.

A betting company was put on the front of the Fulham kit as this season's sponsor.  Well hopefully Fulham ringed every penny out them they could for the right to be this seasons sponsor.  I for one I'm not worried about it.  I have had the talk with my kids about swearing in public and how some people can become addicted to gambling and drinking alcohol.  I have done all I can and I believe they understand what I have taught them so I'm not worried about them seeing a betting company as the kits sponsor.

As for the company being part of a conglomerate that may or may not be on the shady side of things, that is something that is out of our hands and something that the PR group of Fulham must handle and worry about.
Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

aaronmcguigan

In a PR swing, Metro Bank could organise school trips through the Fulham foundation based on the importance of money management, savings accounts etc, and all coming with a billy badger money box

PR success

Everyone wins

For every dubious deal, there's an opportunity waiting to be pounced on.

Alternatively, sell the kids kits with the bank, or the foundation on it. Kids want a kit to look like it's the real deal and an empty kit pleases no one. That or a charity ?
