FOF MOTM Reading 1-1 Fulham (Odoi)
« on: August 12, 2017, 05:03:32 PM »
Having lost Kalas in the first 30 seconds, the Whites came away from the Madejski Stadium with a well fought point. Please cast your vote the FOF MOTM v Reading and discuss any match action here

Odoi every day of the week for me. Broke up play, won headers and was very confident with the ball at his feet. Hardly had a step wrong.

Odoi certainly featured  strongly in Jim's commentary, as did Ream.

Well done to all the lads.

Says alot that 2 of the 3 contenders were subs. Just goes to show how well the ten did all game to allow the subs to try and grab the glory.

Odoi was an absolute man mountain today closely followed by Ream. Incredible performance from the right back or is he a left back???
Ream though has definetly won the Chris Baird award for me gone from woeful to wonderful  :wine:

Well put, good point. Although, Odoi came on after 5 min so played just as much as anyone of the starters.

Very difficult today i went for ream and can only think that he is transformed by SJ with the cofidence and probably being one of the first picks every week on the team sheet.
But everyone on that pitch today gave everything for the shirt and the supporters.
Take a bow boys,you done us proud.coyw

A tremendous defensive display from everyone, we played as an organised unit. Ream has become so good and the fans are giving him full support.
However I guess it is Button again for MOM, he did so well.

Didn't go to this one so I'm going to let those there get the right verdict for this one. I've seen the red card and goal, terrible decision once again against a team I'm beginning to really dislike and a great finish by Piazon.

I think to hold onto a point after playing a whole game with 10 men is a great point in the end. So whether the sub who came on after just 5mins or the keeper or whoever is MOTM, I'm not going to criticise the team with an outcome like this.

Onwards and upwards I guess.

Here is how I saw it for anyone who didn't go (and match ratings). We did very well to get a point playing with 10 men for 96 minutes.

Button 8.5- My MOTM. Distribution was better than ever before and he single handedly started some counter attacks. Some great saves too. Better than last week where he was MOTM
Fredericks 6.5- Didn't get forward like he usually does but to be fair we basically defended for the 90. Was solid at the back, Made no mistakes and worked hard
Kalas 1- Nearly lost us the game trying to dribble out the back leading to us playing with 10 men
Odoi 7.5- Played CB and did very well. Made some important interceptions and carried the ball out of defence well going on some good forward runs
Ream 8- Class game at back didn't put a foot wrong. Lead by example- Composed, solid and worked hard.
Sessegnon 7- Was good today. Worked very hard and was probably our best player going forward (Until Piazon came on). Single handedly started some counter attacks with his pace
Mcdonald 7.5- Good to have him back and at his best. Top leadership. Solid and made some nice passes.
Johansen 6.5- Worked very hard but didn't always come off for him today. Was very busy and had to do a lot of running so I can't fault his effort
Norwood 6.5- First 30 he was very quiet. Early on a poor back pass nearly resulted in a reading goal. From then onwards he impressed. Worked hard making some vital tackles. Played some nice passes and made 2 good longshots that nearly went in
Kebano NA- Feel for him, taken off very early on.
Ayite 5.5- Didn't really get involved today but not so much his fault as we basically parked it. Went off injured around 60th min
Aluko 6- Worked hard and put in a good shift today. Tracked back well but didn't always work for him going forward
Piazon 7.5- Gained us a point. Goal was a thing of beauty (created from nothing) and we looked a better side once he came on
Kamara 6.5- Gave us something extra once he came on. Was direct and powerful. Was good to use on the counter

Went for Ream as there wasn't the option to give it to the whole team.

Reading v Fulham PLAYER RATINGS: Who stood out at the Madejski Stadium?

Fulham picked up a big point away at Reading this afternoon, thanks to substitute Lucas Piazon.

The visitors were reduced to ten men after just 60 seconds, when Tomas Kalas was given a straight red for bringing down his opponent as the last man.

Get West London were at the Madejski Stadium to give player ratings to all of Slavisa Jokanovic's men.

Attendance: 17,398 (2,091 Fulham fans).

Check them out, below!

Button - Made an excellent save from Mendes' header around the post. Early in the second period he pulled off a stunning stop to deny John Swift. Really good performance. 8

Fredericks - Could hardly get forward and offer support. Not too effective. 5

Ream - Stepped up to the plate after defensive partner Kalas was sent off. Combined well with Odoi. 7

Kalas - Off within 45 seconds, straight red. Tough afternoon for his team-mates from there on. 0

Sessegnon - Different story for the other full-back, he got got forward a bit more. Defensively sound. 7

McDonald - Battled away but nothing spectacular from the midfield man. 5

Johansen - Neat and tidy in the middle of the park. Not a big threat in the final third. 6

Kebano - He may not have even touched the ball more than once, as he was taken off tactically due to Kalas' red card so early on. 3

Norwood - Took a while to get going, but when he did he had a goal-bound effort saves over the bar. Fulham needed him a bit more though at times. Made one vital block to prevent a second Reading goal. 6

Ayite - Hardly any impact and taken off in the second half. 4

Aluko - Chasing shadows at times, with the midfield and defence working over time. Had one effort go wide from outside the box in the second half. 5

Odoi - Came on after a minute following Kalas' red card, replacing Kebano. Slotted in well and battled superbly. Stood out. 8

Piazon - The former Royals loan man came on out wide on the left. Got involved early on but faded. However, he sprung to life to race through and slot home the equaliser. 7

Kamara - Bit of second half action and basically looked to run the front line. Definitely got involved. 6

Tough decision, went for Ream over Odoi.
For me he had a solid game considering the situation.
