I remember "we all live in the Hammersmith End the Hammersmith End the Hammersmith End" to the tune of Yellow Submarine.
I remember " He's here he's there were not allowed to swear Barry Lloyd Barry Lloyd"
I remember who's your father who's your father who's your father Referee? You ain't got one you're a bast***d you're a Bast**d Referee.
There were loads more and everyone knew the words and when to sing them
Today it is just the name of the player a few times which is quite boring

If I had the wings of a sparrow.
Stamford Bridge is falling down.
Kill kill kill the Gill.

I am willing to bet songs were more creative back then as most people were smoking a little something something if you know what I mean  :dft012:
Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

Andy S

I remember those smells as well god knows what was being smoked on the terraces and that was the legal stuff

Oh Stanley Horne is etc etc.

You have jogged my memory of Stan Horne.
Wasn't he one of three players brought in at the same time, to help us in the fight against relegation.
Stan Horne came from Manchester City,  Wilf Tranter came from Manchester United and Brian Dear came from West Ham United.
All three I believe made their debuts in a midweek home game, which I think we won 2 1 or 2 0.
It may have been against Sheffield Wednesday or Sunderland but I can't be sure.

Remember it well Woolly.
I'm not sure but was there another new recruit at the time, Ivan Murray another midfielder?

Yes he came along with another player called Brendan Mullen who was a forward, and scored a brace on his debut at Roker Park.
