Reading the Hugill thread reminded me of something that seems worthy of starting a new thread.ย  Twice now this season Tim Ream has taken a fearful whack around the chops and twice he's gathered his senses and soldiered on manfully.ย  Tim, I salute your bravery.

Benny

I think he has been outstanding this season - Reem and KMac are key in the back bone of the team

Pardon my ignorance, but what are chops?

I think he means the head as twice no Ream has taken a good knock to the eye and side of the head.ย  Both times though Ream labored on so I agree with the OP.ย  Ream has been essential to the back four.ย  No, he's not the fastest and yes he gets stick for supposedly not using his head enough but, he's work rate and willingness to put his body on the line is commendable.ย

Hope he stays fit and keeps being a key part of the back four.ย  ย
Anyone can blend into the crowd.ย  How will you standout when it counts?

The Rock

Always has been. 94% through and through. Please remind of us when he's out of position and you miss it next week. Maybe you'll see it, maybe you'll miss it.

If I asked my missus to show me her jugs and she proceeded to wave her ears at me i'd be hugely disappointed...

Completely agree about McDonald (got to be POTS so far?) but although I'm warming to Ream and can see that he's improved massively over the last year, I still think his defending in one-on-one situations is quite passive. Preston's second goal on Saturday was a good example of this - backing off and backing off, allowing the shot and not really engaging with the opposition player. Obviously he shouldn't dive in but standing off and allowing shots is poor. Maybe that's a little harsh as it did take a big deflection, but I think it's illustrative of our soft underbelly - we don't have defenders who are going to kick lumps out of opposition strikers and get in their faces, and we have been conceding some sloppy goals this season, for which the centre halves have to take their share of the blame.

Tim Ream is a real pro, like KMAC the two may not have all the finesse that some of their teammates possess, however, they make up for it with dogged determination and passion.
Someone once asked me, "Why Fulham?".
My response, "Well, lad, you just haven't seen the light yet"
