Wolves have been summoned to meet football league chiefs over concerns over their relationship with super agent Jorge Mendes.

They need to demonstrate their integrity but also to report on their financial position which is rumoured to be beyond permitted losses under financial fair play rules.

Should they fail , one possible sanction is points deduction.

Who knows, but one to watch

Given the protracted QPR saga I wouldn't hold my breath.

Fulham Tup North

I thought that the FFP rules were over a 3 year period?
Surely they cannot be charged half way through that time?
Also, I thought some of their players are on loan and so no money has changed hands?
It's all very confusing.
Considering QPR have never been punished and they really took the Michael, Wolves have about 5 or 6 years to argue their case!

I should have added for Sheffield u fans it was from a broadsheet but the finance issue is over the 3 year period

Tabby

Seems they're in trouble as they were over £20 million in the red last year.

Defo, but this is a bit more sinister than QPRs situation.

If it comes down to the footballing powers that be Asking the question "Should we sanction The mighty ex historically massive footballing Wolves and stop them getting back to the division they quite rightly should be playing in or let that little old club down by the Thames squeeze into the premiership after Wolves have bent the rules? I think we,ve got more chance of our chairman running naked down The Fulham Palace Road before each home game for a season.

I agree but couldn't resist the chance of a cheap shot at them.

One of the allegations is that they are 'paying' their big name stars well under the true rate in their books to avoid further FPR problems with the difference presumably made up from other sources.
