" I told the Inland Revenue I didn't owe them a penny,as I live by the Sea"😁

I admired him mostly for his endless work for deprived children, and children's homes.I believe over the years  lot of his own money was donated to them.

Sounds a bit like Jimmy Saville ?????

I think that's a pathetic statement, in fact downright disgraceful.
Well said.

This is sad statement and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Just saying read into it what you like!

Sad fecker on a RIP to a decent bloke.
Should be banned from the forum.

Apologies if you feel it was out of order but in this world of free speech I think I am entitled to make my comments, they contained no foul language and I was only giving my opinion based on what the person I compared him with who was though to be a charitable person only to turn out to be proved exactly what he was.

keith

Best joke I heard him tell. "What a day to visit the Kremlin. Knock on the door and say, is Len in ?".

Did you actually think it out before you commented.
By that ridiculous statement your making out as though everyone who helps under priveliged kids in homes are Paedophiles.
Ken Dodd also donated thousands to keep old folks home going where he lives...What does that make him for that.

Sorry, but I find this unacceptable. This is not "free speech" and I hope our mods will remove all comments from KJS immediately. I agree these comments are disgraceful, and actually rather sinister; "...the person I compared him with who was though (sic) to be a charitable person only to turn out to be proved exactly what he was."

We know exactly what Jimmy Saville turned out to be, so such comparisons are beyond the pale, and totally unwarranted. Our football club has a deserved reputation of being family friendly; is it too much to expect this to be reflected in our forum?

Burt

"One man's free speech is another man's slander".

KJS, as per our guidelines, posting unsubstantiated comments about an individual on a public forum such as this is something we do not tolerate because:
1. As we have seen with other forums, it opens up the risk of litigation.
2. It creates un-necessary ill-will amongst and between members.

Hope you understand and respect this.

Cheers

Burt

There was one year in the '60's when his records outsold the Beatles. A very good singing voice he had. RIP

I might just be able to beat that record, but it will be a close call.

I was lucky enough to see Ken Dodd a few years ago, I laughed so much my sides hurt, he never stopped with his fast funny one liners. No smut no bad language. It is a sad loss to entertainment.

Also I saw a programme about him being interviewed by Fern Britton, a caring man, deeply religious. It showed a side to a man we would never have seen from just looking at him when he was working.

I concur.

Must be the last of the Music Hall Greats  RIP.
Roy Hudd is still going !

Twig

Was never my type of comedien but he had a long career and apparently did a lot for good causes so RIP Ken Dodd.

hovewhite

Watching him I was tickled and kickled and tickled all over again and again ,the king of the diddymen.
I was tickled and kikcled all over!😉😁

Can't think what would make anyone say such a thing about Ken Dodd, an explanation is called for, second thoughts, you had best just go away before causing further offence.
