Fulham youngster could make MLS move

Portland Timbers are among several Major League Soccer clubs interested in signing Fulham youngster Tayo Edun on loan.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who has played for England at Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 levels, recently trained with Timbers and could be set for a move to the United States.

The Whites, owned by American tycoon Shahid Khan, are keen for their young players to move on loan to the MLS – and New England Revolution are keen on Luca De La Torre.

MLS clubs have also shown some interest in striker Cauley Woodrow, whose first-team prospects at Fulham continue to look slim.

These potential MLS loans are interesting. I wonder how much is truth versus paper talk.

They are basically half season loans, so the youngsters would be back in the winter window. The facilities would be good. No language barrier. Less unpredictability to coaching situations compared to the Championship without relegation and all the pressure that comes with that.

Not sure if they are good or bad ideas, but seem to be a relatively unexplored avenue for the development of young English players at this point.

He was out there a few weeks ago for a trial and said himself that the move could happen

Krychowiak from PSG anyone? Got loaned to WBA last season and he's a quality defensive midfielder who would fit in our system very well who I don't think has a future at PSG

Excellent in that DMF position and good with set pieces.

The Intertoto might not exist anymore, but that doesn't matter. We'll still win it again.

Be curious to know what Reading fans think of Swift. Checked their forum and they dismissed the rumour out of hand, bandied the word tinpot around a bit as per, but wonder what they think of him as a player and whether he's worth the £12m that's being bandied around

Jokanovic said we were after Thomas Delaney last summer and this summer before he went to Dortmund in his Daily Mail article, which to me would suggest we're looking for a Johansen replacement.

We had three senior CM's in the team going into the season. Norwood wasn't a replacement for anyone.

I don't think we were looking to replace Stef last season. He got 13 goals and I believe about 10 assists.

I mean this summer if that wasn't clear. Left-Footed, Box-to-Box Centre-Mid who can score a goal. Scandinavian as well.

MrFFC

Doubt he will be looking to replace Johansen he is a quality player he will just want competition for places now we are in the Premier League
Come on you Whites!! :)

According to this Fulham are interested in Peter Žulj, 25, central midfielder from Sturm Graz. Scored 10 goals and made 19 assists this season.

That is a lot for a defensive midfielder. Seems interesting.
