So,if I turn up with a plastic bottle of water, they are going to make me pour it into a plastic cup? So, I end up with no alternative other than to buy their expensive bottled water instead?

There is information as well available about fan zones. There is a Fulham one in Arena Square until 4pm - anyone know what will be there?

The temperature is nose predicted to be 24/25 degrees and it is going to be a long hot day for everyone.

In addition to that I am sure that I am not the only one who for medical reasons needs to remain well hydrated and take tablets at certain times of the day.

All of that is not going to be done sitting there with a cup of water!!

There is information as well available about fan zones. There is a Fulham one in Arena Square until 4pm - anyone know what will be there?

Found this on youtube, I'd expect the same - this is where ours will be, outside Wembley Arena. So a stage with big screens (season highlights?), maybe a band, and some tents serving beer and match programs. A bit corporate and sanitised, but a less busy alternative to the pubs maybe, if you're not fussy. Expensive though.

I do remember a few years ago (October 2013), going to a Jaguars game at Wembley and went to the fan zone then. Mr Khan himself was having a wander about (with a couple of minders), just walking about smiling and everyone was largely leaving him alone, apart from the odd 'Hello Shahid!' called out. I came completely face to face with him, but was so shocked, I just smiled like a gormless fool and he wandered off. He looked comfortable as you like, so I wonder if it is a regular thing at games he attends, a little mingling. So I wonder if he might do the same on Saturday and we see him in with the masses. Although in 2013 he was not as recognizable as he is now, and has a much higher media presence now so maybe not!

David1879

Hmm, I wouldn't be surprised. I think it would be a good thing. Obviously he's a very different character to Al Fayed but we never see him, even when he attends games. He doesn't have to stride across the pitch waving a scarf, but a bit of visibility would be nice. He deserves the plaudits on Saturday and a chance for fans to thank him in person.

Shredhead

This ban on water bottles is ridiculous but in keeping with modern footbakl practice. I went to a World Cup game in Germany in 2002 and bottles were confiscated 1km from the ground.  Inside the stadium it was well over 30 degrees and tiny bottles of water were €2. Most of the fans were drinking from the taps in the bogs, although they've probably put a stop to that as well.

I emailed Wembley with the same question as my wife needs to drink on a regular basis to hydrate after 2 TIA's. No reply from Wembley.  At least at Fulham you can buy water in plastic bottles and retain the lids ( at one time they used to take off the bottle tops so we were forced to bring some to the ground in our pockets).

Think plastic bottles are no problem at football. Better than decanted drinks that you can easily spill or at Wembley tip unto the people below ( by design or accident ). Safety rules gone mad.

HanseatUK

I am very reluctant to spend any money for food and drinks at the stadium given the rip off prices.

Vaguely remembered and found confirmation on the internet that there is water fountains at Wembley stadium. Since no water bottles are allowed I am now wondering how to store some water for my son in a convenient way.

So we can't take a biscuit and will have to pay the earth for a tasteless Wembley hot dog.

Just doing a final "bump" with this - am assuming that we all know what we are doing, where we are going, and what we can / cannot take in to Wem-ber-lee :)
