Looks like Fulham are playing in "The Cup of Traditions" in Duisburg, Germany on Saturday 28th July. This competition dates back all the way to... 2016. Also confirmed to be taking part are Athletic Bilbao, and MSV Duisburg with one further team to be named. Aston Villa won it last year. The trophy is certainly a bit different from most.

Incidentally, Duisburg is a bit too far west ever to have had the dubious pleasure of being in the GDR. Unless the Red Army did a quick grab when General Simpson's Ninth Army weren't looking.

Went to Duisburg last November as part of my annual Bundesliga weekend away. Good little ground, close to Dusseldorf, which is a better town than Cologne. Would recommend it as an away trip.

Duisburg is in the Ruhrgebiet. So it's always been in West Germany. Just north of Duesseldorf and west of Essen and Dortmund. Looks like a good tournament. I like the trips to big European countries and playing well know European teams. All four of these teams have a long history.
