If, if, if it is true (and there's usually bits to iron out until the club confirm it), this is great. Could be a two year player for us and then off for big profit, and in the meantime a player we can really enjoy.
Doubt it mate. Hes 27 this summer. You reckon anyone would actually pay us enough so we can get a profit for a 30 yo midfielder?

Yeah. If the £20m is true. Appreciate your point, but clubs will stay pay a lot more than that for a 30 year old with proven ability in the Premier league.

theres a certain 33 year old that is nearly 34 being sold imminently for £88m so there is room to move id say.....
Yeah, well no. Simply not a viable comparison

why not. just saying that people will pay more than £20m for a 30 year old player in todays market

Reports ive read states that his release clause is set at £34 million, and its set to expire 15 july. So doubt its as low as £20 m.

Would be difficult to sell a 30 yo for over 30 mil unless he absolutley rips the premiership apart.

With Ronaldo you're buying the brand as much as buying a truly top drawer, world class footballer, neither of which Seri is.

If he isn't keen then tell him to f off.
Move on.

The calibre of players that we need/want are not going to have their hearts set on being Fulham players. None of them will be Fulham fans, they may never have even seen us play. The players that would love to be signed by Fulham are in the Championship or poor European teams and are not really what we need. If we were to sign a player for over £20m I would definitely want them to have ambitions to play at the very highest level otherwise they're already a waste of money.
Just because they are not head over heels over playing for Fulham before they sign, that does not mean we can not make them love the club after they have signed. Nor does it mean they won't give 100% when on the pitch, even if it is with slight hopes of getting a move to a bigger club.

Finally a statement that makes sense

Do I really need to explain why Ronaldo has a high market value even at 33, and why this does not apply to all other 30 yos?

I think it's more likely 34 million Euros.

Chelsea and Arsenal target set for shock Fulham move

Chelsea and Arsenal target Jean Michel Seri is set to seal a shock move to London rivals Fulham.

The midfielder has become one of the most wanted midfielders across Europe and had drawn links with Barcelona last summer. Last season, the Ivorian impressed for Nice, appearing 31 times in the Ligue 1, scoring twice and assisting five times.

Sky Italia report that Seri is set to join Fulham this summer, with the Premier League club having agreed a fee of 20 million euros with Nice.

Also pursued by Napoli and Roma, Seri will travel to England tomorrow to agree personal terms with the London based and will also undergo a medical at the Craven Cottage ahead of a move.

Loic Tanzi who's god tier for reliability with transfers in Ligue 1 has said there's ongoing negotiations but Seri's favouring other moves at the moment. Guess we'll find out who's right in the next couple of days, because Di Marzio's said he'll be confirmed in the next day or two.

definitely.

This doesn't make sense at all. I seen similar comments when the Diego Rolan move was on/off last season.
No one with great potential should be overly keen to come to a small newly promoted team. The only Ines keen should be youth players, lower league players and has beens.
Anyone keen to settle for a relegation fight when there's so much more potential in them isn't the right fit.

We need to go out and look for the best we can get, encourage them to come and make them want to play for us , whether it's  money or promises; and that's how you build a team that's capable of more.

We've had many big names here, and I guarantee at the start before transfers being announced , and way before the fluffy quotes at the transfer unveiling, there was plenty of deliberation, hesitation and plenty hardwork put in by our negotiating team to persuade players who have clearly been capable of much better than Fulham .

At the end of the day, if we go for players who really want a bottom of premier league/ top of championship club, that's all we will ever be

On the subject of us not being the preferred opion, Mitro only moved here after his preferred deal fell through in the 11th hour. I'd say he did okay.

If he really isn't keen on the move to Fulham, then it won't happen.

Maybe it's his agent saying this to get other clubs to show an interest.

I didnt though did it. Only fell through because we got in before he could sign for Anderlecht,as soon as Slav got him on the phone ,he was here like a shot

Not quite how it worked out. The Anderlecht move fell through because they couldn't sell someone in time and therefore couldn't afford it.

Not sure why this is a massive coup. He has in the past been linked to all the big clubs but has never happened. If and it remains an 'if' he does sign. It still leaves all the positions we HAVE to fill to be filled. But at least it shows things are moving. A lot of money though and we are never that successful with expensive signings.

This post is so Fulhamish. Our record signing (?) and our very first thought is,"we are never that successful with expensive signings".....unfortunately there is a lot of truth in the statement. Let's hope that our previous record counts for nothing. ... and that with Joka's input and influence we are getting things right now!

would mean the next couple have a better chance to pan out IMO. i like the odds at least! can roll snake eyes every time!

He was off in Belgium, telling the reporters about how great it was to be home, doing the medical. The deal fell through for economic reasons, and thus he joined his second choice.
