Fulham agree fee for Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri

Fulham are expected to sign the Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri this summer.

According to Daily Mail, the newly promoted Premier League side have already agreed on a fee with the French club and the player has applied for his visa.

The report adds that Sevilla, West Ham and Chelsea were eyeing up a move for the player as well.

Fulham will pay £18million for the playmaker. Seri could prove to be a cracking addition to Jokanovic's side if the deal goes through.

The technically gifted midfielder will add more creativity to Fulham's midfield. He could be the ideal partner for Tom Cairney. Also, his style of play will allow him to fit into Jokanovic's free-flowing attacking brand of football.

Fulham are worried that the other clubs could offer the player a better deal. It will be interesting to see whether they can pull it off now.

The Londoners are looking to sign the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Sweden international Ludwig Augustinsson as well.

18/19 Kits Released

Fulham Football Club is delighted to welcome leading global betting brand Dafabet as our new Main Team Partner in a two-year record shirt sponsorship deal for the Club.

Today's Main Team Partner announcement coincides with the launch of the Club's new 18/19 adidas Home and Away Kits which will carry the Dafabet logo displayed on the front of the playing shirts worn by the First Team for the 2018/19 Premier League campaign and the Fulham FC Women's team.

The Home Kit will be worn for the first time this Saturday (14th July) when Slaviša Jokanović's side plays Reading in a pre-season friendly at Aldershot Town.

Both 2018/19 Home and Away Kits are available to purchase online and instore from today. Fulham's Home Kit takes inspiration from the Club's successful late 1990s period, as well as adidas' authentic sport look from the 1980s and 90s.

The heritage of London's original football club is weaved further into the kit with a subtle neck sign-off of the Club's founding year, whilst modern features remain at the heart of the kit, with adidas' climalite technology.

The late 1990s kick-started a period of success for Fulham Football Club, as the Whites blazed a trail through the lower divisions, securing record points and goal tallies along the way.

Having enjoyed recent success, Fulham will return to competing in the Premier League next season in their iconic white and black colours.

An original strip reborn.

As well as presence on the front of playing shirts from 2018/19, Dafabet branding will be visible around Craven Cottage on matchdays and across the Club's social media and digital channels. There will also be significant engagement opportunities for Dafabet to reach the Club's domestic and international fan base.

Casper Stylsvig, Chief Revenue Officer of Fulham FC said: "I am delighted that the Club has been able to benefit from the team's tremendous success of last season's promotion to the Premier League by securing a record shirt sponsorship deal. We look forward to enjoying our return to the top flight with Dafabet and working with them to continue to grow the Club's brand globally."

Dimitris Karatzas, Chief Executive Officer at Dafabet, said: "We are delighted to continue our long-lasting presence in the Premier League by partnering with a club full of heritage and tradition.  While the relationship is in the early stages, our initial discussions with the club's officials have given me every confidence that we share the same passion for football, we're looking forward to a fruitful and successful partnership."

John Cruces, Head of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship at Dafabet, added: "We're very proud to announce our partnership with Fulham Football Club who are steeped in tradition being London's oldest club.  Being one of the most recognised Asian brands it was very important to us to continue to be seen in the most watched league in club football, especially seeing more new gaming brands entering football of late.  We'll be bringing the highest level of experience to the partnership and will engage with both the club and fans, working towards common goals. It goes without saying we look forward to forming a successful relationship, roll on the new season."

Fulham in talks for Jean-Michael Seri but Whites concerned of rival bids

Fulham are in talks with Nice over a deal to sign Jean-Michael Seri but are concerned they could be outbid by another Premier League club, according to Sky sources.

The Whites are only prepared to pay around £18m for the highly-rated midfielder, who has a £35m release clause in his contract that is set to expire next week.

Sources close to the player have told Sky Sports News that Seri is now in London as he hopes to land a move to Premier League club this summer.

Seri did not travel with the rest of the Nice squad for the club's pre-season training camp last week.

Chelsea have also been interested, while German club Borussia Dortmund and Italian side Napoli have also held talks with his current club Nice.

Sky Sports News reported last week that Fulham had made an initial inquiry into signing the 26-year-old as they bid to land a new dynamic box-to-box midfielder to compete with Stefan Johansen.

They have been interested in Salzburg's Amadou Haidara but he recently signed a new contract, while they are also keen on Lille midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Transfer News: Fulham snatch Chelsea target Jean-Michel Seri

In a stunning turn of events, promoted side Fulham have stolen OGC Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri from potential suitors Chelsea and Arsenal.

Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri visited London over the weekend, ramping up speculation that he would move to a London club for the upcoming season. The Ivorian was targeted by Barcelona last summer, and Chelsea, Arsenal, and even West Ham have been linked to him in the past few days.

But according to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, it is recently promoted Fulham who will scoop up the 26-year old, as they look to bolster the roster that won the Championship promotion playoff.

What Seri adds?
Seri adds to a midfield that already includes the experienced trio of Kevin McDonald, Tom Cairney and Stefan Johansen. The Ivorian has done it all for Nice since joining the French side in 2015, scoring 12 and assisting 23 in 103 appearances.

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic is looking to continue adding to his ranks, with Fulham also linked to Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic. Mitrovic on loan, helped Fulham gain promotion  last season, scoring 12 goals in just half a season at Craven Cottage. Fulham are reportedly confident that they will sign their man, and all signs point to Mitrovic's signing sooner rather than later.

Seri is an unusually high-profile signing for a newly promoted club, but Fulham have stiff competition this season to stay in the Premier League. Wolverhampton, with their legion of Jorge Mendes clients, may be one of the best promoted sides ever. Their roster looks poised to make a run at the top half of the table, and new addition Rui Patricio only adds to that. Fulham seem to be doing what they can just to keep up.

Seri should cement his place in the starting XI at Fulham quickly, and with talent around him like young phenomenon, Ryan Sessegnon and Mitrovic possibly returning up front, he will have no shortage of targets. With Seri joining, Fulham looks like a strong side. Maybe one strong enough to beat the drop, if they do manage to get their man in Mitrovic.

Fulham unveils Dafabet deal for Premier League return

As the club gets ready for a return to the Premiership, Fulham FC has welcomed Dafabet as its new main team partner, in a two-year record shirt sponsorship deal for the club.

The announcement of the new partnerships coincides with the launch of the club's new 18/19 adidas home and away kits, which will carry the Dafabet logo displayed on the front of the playing shirts worn by the First Team for the 2018/19 Premier League campaign and the Fulham FC Women's team. The Home Kit will be worn for the first time this Saturday (14 July) when Slaviša Jokanović's side plays Reading in a pre-season friendly at Aldershot Town.

Dimitris Karatzas, Chief Executive Officer at Dafabet, commented: "We are delighted to continue our long-lasting presence in the Premier League by partnering with a club full of heritage and tradition.

Fulham Football Club earned a place in the Premier League, after an absence of four years, by defeating Aston Villa 1-0 in the Championship Play-Off Final at Wembley last May. Pre-season preparations are firmly underway as the team gets ready for the 2018/19 Premier League opener at home against Crystal Palace on Saturday 11 August.

As well as presence on the front of playing shirts from 2018/19, Dafabet branding will be visible around Craven Cottage on matchdays and across the Club's social media and digital channels. There will also be significant engagement opportunities for Dafabet to reach the Club's domestic and international fan base.

Casper Stylsvig, Chief Revenue Officer of Fulham FC reacted to the new partnership: "I am delighted that the Club has been able to benefit from the team's tremendous success of last season's promotion to the Premier League by securing a record shirt sponsorship deal. We look forward to enjoying our return to the top flight with Dafabet and working with them to continue to grow the Club's brand globally."

Fulham nets record sponsorship deal for Premier League return

Newly-promoted Premier League club Fulham has unveiled online betting company Dafabet as its new main sponsor ahead of its return to the top flight of English football.

The two-year deal covers the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed but Fulham confirmed the deal marks a record for the London club.

Dafabet's logo will feature on the front of Fulham's home and away shirts as part of the agreement. The deal also extends to Fulham's women's team.

Dafabet branding will be visible around Fulham's Craven Cottage stadium, and across the club's social media and digital channels. Fan engagement opportunities will also form part of the deal.

Fulham Set To Beat Out Elite Competition To Sign 26 Y/O Ligue 1 Midfielder: Huge Boost For The Cottagers?

Premier League new boys, Fulham have beaten out the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea for the signing of OGC Nice midfielder, Jean Michael Seri. The 26-year-old was spotted in London a couple of days back probably looking to finalize his move to the English top-flight.

It is being reported that the Cottagers shelled out £17.7m for the Ivory Coast international who has long been on the shopping list of the aforementioned duo. With Arsenal already penning down a transfer of Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria and the Blues currently leading the chase for Jorginho, it would be plausible to believe that Seri was a player they passed up on.

The defensive midfielder from Ligue 1, once targeted by Barcelona is now set to prove everyone wrong by taking his talents to one of the most prestigious leagues in all of Europe. Seri had made 43 appearances for Nice last term and contributed with 2 goals and 10 assists on the offensive end of the pitch.

He signed with OGC Nice in the summer of 2015 and has now racked up 123 appearances, scoring 12 goals and creating 26 assists with the club. The Ivorian has been an instrumental figure in midfield to help the Eaglets to the 8th spot of the French first division.

Seri has been capped 16 times for the Ivory Coast national team and draws a lot of comparisons with Yaya Toure himself. Standing at 5 feet 6 inches tall, Seri does not pack all the physical attributes as that of the former Manchester City player but he does bring around a similar level of impact for his team.

Seri is an agile figure who likes to operate from deep. With the entire pitch at his disposal, the 26-year-old likes to win back possession with timely interceptions and tackles while also formulating attacks for his team.

He uses his vision and technical abilities to set up his teammates with both short and long range passes. In short, he might be the perfect man to suit the need of the Lillywhites in the upcoming 2018/19 campaign.

The road to making such a prodigious return to the top-flight has not been easy and the Fulham faithful would hate to see their team drop out of the race after a single season.

Bringing in a prolific talent to tighten up the weak spots is the best way to keep their hopes of Premier League survival alive. Seri could be one of the biggest coups in the 2018 summer transfer window.

What Chelsea's Jorginho coup means for Fulham's pursuit of Jean-Michael Seri

Chelsea look set to land the Napoli midfielder and that could spell good news for Fulham

Chelsea look set to land Napoli man Jorginho and that could spell good news for Fulham's pursuit of Nice's Jean-Michael Seri.

The 26-year-old has been spotted on a flight to London ahead of a potential move to the blue side of west London, with Napoli's president confirming that Jorginho has chosen Chelsea over Manchester City, who were rumoured to be heavily interested in the player.

Chelsea had held in an interest in Seri, who is reported to have a £35million release clause in his contract that is set to expire next week, but their imminent signing of Jorginho leaves the door wide open for Fulham to swoop in and make a deal for the Ivory Coast man.

Football.London understands that negotiations are ongoing between Seri and Fulham, and although nothing is expected imminently, Jorginho's move to Chelsea has boosted hopes that the club will be able to get a deal over the line for Seri.

There are still other clubs interested in a move for Seri, with Borussia Dortmund and Napoli both linked with the 26-year-old, but Fulham are becoming increasingly confident that he will be a Fulham player this season.

The Cottagers are yet to make a move in the transfer window so far as they look to add quality that will see them compete in the Premier League this season as Tony Khan and the recruitment team plan an ambitious window.

They've already tied down Tom Cairney and Tim Ream to new deals, while it's expected that Ryan Sessegnon will put pen to paper on a new contract in the near future.

Slavisa Jokanovic also remains in talks with the club over extending his stay at the club having led them back to the Premier League last season.

Jean-Michael Seri set for £35million Fulham transfer as Cottagers beat Europe's elite for midfielder's signature

The south-west London club have agreed to meet the Ivory Coast international's release clause

Fulham are closing in on the £35million signing of Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.

Newly-promoted Fulham have agreed to meet the Ivory Coast international's release clause and the deal is expected to be concluded by the weekend.

Seri attracted interest from a host of clubs across Europe, but Fulham acted swiftly to secure the 26-year-old, whose release clause is understood to expire on Sunday.

The cultured midfielder will become the Whites' first signing of the summer if the south-west London club can get the deal over the line.

Fulham currently have the smallest squad in the Premier League, and parted company with right-back Ryan Fredericks in June, with the former Tottenham star putting pen to paper on a four-year deal with West Ham.

The club has retained the services of star player Tom Cairney, who signed a new five-year deal to end speculation of a move away, and fans' Player of the Season Tim Ream, who has penned a two-year extension.

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic will be keen to push on and bring in more players once Seri is confirmed.

Sweden and Werder Bremen left-back Ludwig Augustinsson is one such man on the club's radar, after Southampton rejected a £10million bid from the Whites for Matt Targett.

Fulham are also looking to complete a deal for Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who was on loan at the Cottage last season, helping the club achieve promotion.

Fulham to sign Maxime Le Marchand from OGC Nice

Premier League side Fulham have agreed a deal with OGC Nice to sign central defender Maxime Le Marchand, according to Nice-Matin.

The Frenchman has quit Nice's pre-season camp in Divonne-les-Bains this afternoon and will now travel to London to complete the move.

Tottenham should hijack Fulham's reported bid for Jean Seri

Tottenham Hotspur were linked with Nice midfielder Jean Seri in 2017.

According to Sky Sports, Fulham are in talks with Nice about a stunning deal for Jean Seri, but fear a Premier League will come in and hijack the move.

Fulham are seeking reinforcements having won promotion back to the Premier League following a four-year absence, and they are setting their sights high.

Slavisa Jokanovic's men are looking to bring in Ivorian international Seri, but have offered £18million for him – some way short of his £35million asking price, according to Sky Sports.

Seri hit two goals and six assists last season as he continues to impress in France, and Fulham are allegedly worried that they will be hijacked by a Premier League rival for his signature.

One club who should certainly be looking to swoop in and land Seri is Tottenham Hotspur, who may be in the market for a box-to-box midfielder this summer given questions over Mousa Dembele's future.

RMC Sport reported last summer that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was a huge fan of Seri, and was encouraging Tottenham to bid for the Ivorian, though no deal materialised.

At 26, Seri is at a good age to come in and play Dembele's role, and he possesses the drive from midfield and skill on the ball to be an effective successor, without breaking the bank.

Fulham appear to be well down the line with their bid for Seri, but with Pochettino allegedly keen last summer and Spurs needing a midfielder more than they did back then, Tottenham should move to lure Seri to North London instead of allowing to move to the West of the capital.

Fulham transfer for Ligue 1 player 'imminent', already travelling to London to complete move

Amid all the speculation that Jean-Michael Seri could be heading to Fulham for €20m, even if he isn't all that keen on the move, another player from OGC Nice is expected to ply his trade at Craven Cottage next season: Maxime Le Marchand.

In desperate need of centre-backs, the Cottagers have been looking around Europe for some defenders over the past few months, and the Frenchman's name already popped up once.

Back in mid-June, Nice-Matin claimed the 28-year-old was keen to find a move elsewhere, wanting to play in the centre of defence after spending most of last season filling at left-back for the Ligue 1 side.

With just one year left on his deal, this was the perfect time for him to get his transfer, with Fiorentina also interested in his services at the time.

However, it appears the Premier League side have overtaken the Serie A club, as Nice-Matin journalist Vincent Menichini reported on Wednesday afternoon that Le Marchand has left Divonne-les-Bains to go to London, with a move to Fulham 'imminent'.

It might not be Seri, but it's something.

Jokanovic signing this 26-year old beast midfielder could establish Fulham as a top-six contender

Why signing Jean Michael Seri could establish Fulham as a top-six contender

Slavisa Jokanovic's men have been on an upward trajectory since the previous season. Nobody expected Fulham to get promoted in the initial stages of the campaign and yet, they have successfully booked a spot for themselves in the Premier League.

Now, with the summer transfer window up and running, not many people expected them to beat the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea to sign OGC Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri. However, as per a report from Daily Mail, the Cottagers are edging closer to securing a deal for the talented Ivory Coast star.

The report further states that Fulham will table a bid in the region of £18million to acquire the 26-year-old's services, which seems a tad surprising since Seri's release clause stands at £35million.

However, according to an earlier report by Daily Star, the player's agent had mentioned that the release clause is valid only until July 15th and that's hardly a few days away. Hence, it makes sense for the newly-promoted outfit to take advantage of the situation.

Over the course of the last campaign, Seri scored 2 goals and provided 6 assists. He usually occupies a role in the centre of the midfield and his style is quite defensive.

Despite being quite adept at providing a tough shield of protection ahead of the back four, Seri is also proficient when it comes to supporting the attackers. He can occupy a deeper role in the midfield, meaning he could truly revamp Fulham's performances next season.

Seri is one of the most skilled midfielders across Europe and if Fulham manage to sign him, it will be nothing short of a coup for the club. As far as Jokanovic's squad is concerned, Seri could work wonders alongside club captain Tom Cairney in the heart of the park.

The duo must focus towards working in tandem and forge a solid partnership in central midfield. And with players like Ryan Sessegnon in the mix, Fulham could launch an attempt to challenge for a top-six spot.

That said, it is still too early to build castles in the air. The prospect of signing Seri will sound tantalizing for the club and its fans and they must do everything to acquire his services ahead of other suitors.

Fulham have unveiled their 2018/19 kits
When old school meets new school

Around this time of year, all of England's football clubs begin to reveal what they will be wearing for the upcoming season. Fulham's were finally released today via the club website.

The new home kits are an homage to the kits worn by the club in the late 1990s back when they were climbing up the ladder all the way towards the top flight of English football. While that era was almost a two decades ago, this is certainly a great outfit to kickstart a new generation that have brought Premier League football back to Craven Cottage.

As for the shirt sponsor, this will not be the first time Dafabet has seen their logo printed on a football club's shirt. The Asian online sports betting company have previously sponsored Burnley and Blackburn Rovers, and are the current shirt sponsors for Sunderland and Celtic.

As for the away kits, meh...

Personally though, I'm not one to be all bent out of shape about away kits unless they look too outrageous. Since that's not the case, I'm ok with them.

So what are your thoughts on these new looks? Will you be among those hoping to get them first thing? Are you ok with another betting company being the club's shirt sponsor after Grosvenor Casinos, Marathon Bet and Betfair being sponsors from seasons past? Give us your thoughts on the comments below.

CC Thoughts: When Scott Malone left for Huddersfield Town the previous summer, it was thought that having Ryan Sessegnon or Denis Odoi as his successor would be a smooth transition. It turns out that was not the case as the two were either not playing well or looked out of position as to what Slavisa Jokanovic was requiring of them to perform. Along with that, Rafa Soares was not the solution at all to Fulham's left back problem and the club were in real disarray as a result. Even when Fulham were starting to pick themselves back up after a torrid start to the campaign, there still needed to be a few pieces to the puzzle to be added.

Once Matt Targett joined the fold, everything seemed to be full for this Fulham XI. The back four seemed to be as balanced and stable as it has ever been in their three years in the Championship. Of Fulham's 16 clean sheets, 11 of them came when Targett was starting. Now that is not to say that the Southampton loanee is the ultimate defensively minded fullback. However, he brought a steady presence that allowed Sessegnon to bomb forward while playing our wide on the left-hand side of the pitch. And unlike many of Fulham's other players, Targett became a threat off of crossing the ball with a 26.9% success rate. Along with that, Targett ended up becoming one of Fulham's go-to corner kick takers ans was able to complete 18 of his 38 attempts from such situations.

While Targett was never one to grab the headlines with goals, lovely assists or bombing runs, Targett added elements that the club were lacking. With his presence on the pitch, Fulham became whole and he was among the many reasons Fulham gained promotion back to the Premier League.

Did I mention that Targett was able to do all this while still being 22 years old? Now things will be tricky to get him back to Craven Cottage. Southampton may be looking for Targett to start at left back if Ryan Bertrand were to decide to leave the club that finished just inches from relegation last season. This is why the rumors of locking up Swedish International Ludwig Augustinsson are very high.

Despite this, Matt Targett and his efforts should be remembered in the hearts Fulham supporters for seasons to come.

Key Stat: 1.52 successful crosses per 90 minutes. Just as further evidence to how much his crossing ability has gone unnoticed, Targett's rate of successful crosses is almost double the rate of Fulham's next best option in this category. That would be Stefan Johansen at 0.74 successful crosses per 90 minutes.

Your thoughts: Let's assume for the sake of this exercise, Augustinsson doesn't join Fulham after all. If that ends up happening, I think it's pretty safe to say that we would all like Matt Targett to sign a permanent deal with Fulham. If so, how much should Fulham offer to get him out of Southampton's books? Do you think he has what it takes to take his game up to another level? If so, what else does he need to improve on? Let us know on the comment section below.

Could Johansen be dropped by Fulham next season if Seri arrives?

Could Fulham midfielder Stefan Johansen be axed next season if the club land reported target Jean Michael Seri?

Fulham are planning for life back in the Premier League next season and may reportedly be on the verge of a huge deal.

The Londoners are in talks with French club Nice about midfielder Jean Michael Seri and are willing to pay around £18million, according to Sky Sports.

The Whites are holding discussions with the Ivory Coast international and are fearing last-minute hijacks from rivals clubs, but if a deal if secured it would be massive for the club.

Seri has impressed in Ligue 1 and would surely walk into the starting XI at Craven Cottage, meaning one of three central midfielders would have to drop out.

Both Tom Cairney and Kevin McDonald appear to indispensable, which could mean the unfortunate Stefan Johansen makes way if Seri joins.

Johansen was vital to promotion from the Championship last season by scoring eight goals and supplying eight assists in the league, but is seen as the more inconsistent individual of the Fulham midfield trio.

He plays the box-to-box role and that is likely to pit him up against Seri in the next campaign if a big-money deal gets over the line.

The 27-year-old is certain to give manager Slavisa Jokanovic a selection headache next season, but it will be a good one to have.
