Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

If that is the going rate for a good keeper  then using that as a benchmark I would price a few keepers from the past as follows:-
Bert Trautman - 100million                  Man. City & Germany. His performance against Fulham in a 0-1 defeat was by                                                     far  the best I have ever seen.

Tony Macedo
Edwin Van der Sar
Mark Shcwarzer         80 million each   These are the three best Fulham keepers I can remember

Jim Stanard              40 million          We really loved him. Wait a minute we used to sing "he is fat he is round he                                                     is worth a million pound"  Not far off the truth now is it.

It's similar to buying Van Dijk. It's a glaringly obvious position Liverpool have no strength in at the moment.

Look at the rest of the top5, they have world class keepers from Courtois/Lloris/ de gea and ederson. There's no point spending 10m on an average keeper, and the price tag includes the demand that Real/ Chelsea etc will want him too

I seems karius keeper was concussed before he made those two blunders....given that was an aberration...I'd take him

He is a good keeper no doubt. But I'm sure Roma are more than aware of Liverpool's desperation to strengthen this position.

Side note, here is an interesting article on the relative transfer fees of Keepers; https://www.economist.com/game-theory/2018/02/09/why-footballs-goalkeepers-are-cheap-and-unheralded

This may be about to change.

Only Liverpool would pay a world record for a keeper they put 7 past last season. 064.gif

Supply and demand. Liverpool are exposed as having loads of money and 2 positions glaringly short of a decent team, so the selling clubs can simply name a ridiculous price. They done it with van dijk and they'll do it with alisson.

Itll be great to see 3/4 m Tom Cairney stick a few past mega bucks alisson in November
