Fulham close to signing former Argentina U20 international, 'a few details left' to sort out

It's a case of one in, one out at Atlético Madrid on transfer deadline day, as Nikola Kalinic arrives from Atlético Madrid, while Luciano Vietto is apparently on his way to... Fulham.

According to Rubén Uría in Spain, a journalist for a variety outlets, including the Spanish versions of Eurosport and beIN Sports, the 24-year-old forward will move to Craven Cottage in the final hours of the transfer window.

An agreement was found between the two clubs for the former Argentina U20 international, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Valencia.

Never really finding consistent game time under Diego Simeone, Vietto will now be looking to relaunch his career, and has chosen the Premier League, and Fulham, to do so.

There are apparently still a few details to sort out, but the agreement is there, and we'll have to see whether it's a loan or a transfer.

If this deal does go through, the forward could join the likes of Martin Montoya and André-Franck Zambo Anguissa as deadline day acquisitions for Slavisa Jokanovic's side.

Cardiff fend off Watford and Fulham to secure Harry Arter on season-long loan from Bournemouth

Harry Arter has turned down Watford and Fulham to join Cardiff on a season loan
He is Cardiff's second deadline day buy, after Victor Camarasa joined from Betis
Bournemouth broke their transfer record to sign £25million Jefferson Lerma

Harry Arter has rejected late moves from Watford and Fulham to join Cardiff on a year-long loan deal, Sportsmail understands.

The Bournemouth midfielder opted to leave Bournemouth in search of guaranteed first-team football after his parent club broke their transfer record to sign £25million Jefferson Lerma.

Cardiff have already secured the services of Victor Camarasa on loan from Real Betis today.

The 28-year-old midfielder had interested Premier League rivals Fulham and Watford, but opted for the newly-promoted side.

He trained with Bournemouth as normal this morning, before heading to Wales this afternoon to complete the move.

Arter has been at the Cherries since 2010, making 255 appearances in eight years.

He is also a full Republic of Ireland international, making 13 appearances since his debut in 2015.

Neil Warnock has already brought in Alex Smithies, Greg Cunningham, Bobby Reid and Josh Murphy to south Wales this summer as he looks to strengthen the squad for a survivial push after securing promotion last year.

Fulham ready to beat the deadline for South American forward

Premier League new boys are set to beat the clock and sign Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto on loan with a view to a permanent signing, according to the Daily Mirror.

Slavisa Jokanovic has already moved to strengthen his forward line in this transfer window, with the addition of Aleksandar Mitrovic, and it appears as though the Serbia international is to get a fellow forward to play alongside.

Vietto came through the ranks in his native Argentina, but it was a move to Villareal in 2014 where he shot to prominence. He displayed the sort of talent that made Diego Simeone sign him a year later, but it hasn't quite happened for him at Atletico Madrid.

He has been sent out on loan spells at Sevilla and Valencia where he caught the eye a little more, and now a move to the Premier League appears to be in the pipeline.

Jokanovic is keen to ensure he has a real strength in depth as he bids to keep the Cottagers in the top flight, and the addition of the 24-year-old to provide competition to the likes of Mitrovic and fellow new signing Andre Schurrle should help with that quest.

Were he to get the late deal over the line before the 5pm transfer deadline, it would boost his options ahead of Fulham's Premier League return when they take on Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United to send Timothy Fosu-Mensah on loan to Fulham

Manchester United are working on a deal to send Timothy Fosu-Mensah on loan to Premier League newcomers Fulham, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho has spent much of the summer looking for a new centre-back – with offers rebuffed for Toby Alderweireld, Jerome Boateng, Diego Godin and Harry Maguire.

Despite his desire to reinforce the back-line, Mourinho also feels that his defence is bloated and is looking to offload several players before the transfer deadline.

According to Sky Sports News, Fosu-Mensah is one player who could make way and the club are keen to ensure he continues to get Premier League experience.

The Dutchman was on loan at Crystal Palace last season, but there had been suggestions that he would act as cover and competition at Old Trafford – particularly with injury doubts over right-back Antonio Valencia.

Fosu-Mensah is capable of playing in the centre of defence, either full-back position or midfield, and Fulham are hoping to quickly wrap up a deal to bring the versatile youngster in.

If a deal cannot be completed by Friday's 5pm deadline, United still have the rest of the month to find a suitable foreign club to send him too.

It is a busy day for Fulham, with the Cottagers also looking to wrap up several more deals including a stunning swop for Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto.

Fulham made attempt to sign Ligue 1 defender, turned away by player himself

Fulham, much like Watford and Wolves, have approached transfer deadline day with a scattergun approach, with an aim to sign a new right-back at some point.

One of their targets, and the one they look most likely to get, was Valencia's Martin Montoya, but they also approached Monaco's Almamy Touré, where they weren't as lucky.

According to L'Equipe, the Cottagers tried to buy out the last year of the Mali international's contract with the principality club, and while it isn't explained if they succeeded, it doesn't really matter.

The French newspaper state the player, wanting to make a 'qualitative step' in his career if/when he leaves Monaco, decided to rebuke Fulham's advances to sign him, and most likely forced Slavisa Jokanovic to turn to the aforementioned Spaniard.

Despite being seen by many as a better option down the right than Djibril Sidibé, the 22-year-old has never managed to full displace the France international, making just 20 league appearances last season for the Ligue 1 club.

Fulham have reportedly wrapped up two more sensational loan deals

They have arguably had the best transfer window out of all 20 Premier League clubs

Fulham have been hard at work during this summer's transfer window, recruiting some very talented players who should bed into the squad seamlessly.

Aleksandar Mitrović made his loan from Newcastle permament, André Schürlle joined the Cottagers on a two year loan from Borussia Dortmund, and Jean Michael Seri signed from OGC Nice despite interest from several big clubs around Europe.

They've also reunited England's U21 defensive partnership from last summer with the acquisitions of Alfie Mawson and Calum Chambers, and now look set to complete two more loan deals to wrap up a fantastic window.

According to reports, loan moves for Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Luciano Vietto are expected to be announced by Fulham this afternoon. Fosu-Mensah joins from Manchester United after a relatively successful loan spell at Crystal Palace last season and an impressive pre-season tour, while Vietto joins from Atlético Madrid, having struggled to break into the team ahead of Angel Correa and Kevin Gameiro.

The deadline closed at 5pm but expect to see a few transfers announced after the deadline as the photoshoots and social media content is lined up.

If Fulham get both these deals over the line, it would wrap up a hugely successful window for them, although it's difficult to judge before the season has started.

Since then he has made a further 11 appearances for the Red Devils and his current contract takes him to 2020.

However, he spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace playing some 21 times without scoring.

ulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic has been involved in a busy transfer period for the newly-promoted club.

There hit list so far includes Jean Michael Seri, Maxime Le Marchand, Fabricio Agosto Ramirez, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Alfie Mawson and Calum Chambers.

Germany international Andre Schurrle has also joined on a two-season loan from Borussia Dortmund.

They make their return to Premier League action this Saturday in front of their home crowd at Craven Cottage against fellow Londoners Crystal Palace.

It will be Fulham's first game in the top flight for four years, against the team they last faced in the Premier League back in May 2014.

Fulham sign Rico on loan

Fulham have confirmed the signing of Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico on a season-long loan.

The 24 year-old goalkeeper has made more than 170 appearances for Sevilla and has been capped by Spain at senior level. Fulham moved quickly to snap one of La Liga's leading goalkeepers after Sevilla had signed Tomas Vaclik from Basel. The Spanish goalkeeper has won back-to-back Europa League titles with Sevilla and will battle with compatriot Fabri and Marcus Bettinelli for the number one shirt at Craven Cottage.

Rico told Fulham's official website:

I'm very happy, really pleased to have signed for the oldest club in the Premier League. "I'm excited to start training, to meet all my teammates and, above all, to enjoy the season that starts this Saturday.

Fulham's head of football operations, Tony Khan, said:

I'm excited to announce that Fulham Football Club has signed Sergio Rico on loan from Sevilla. Sergio is a world class goalkeeper, and thus, his services have been in great demand. Sergio joins a very talented cast of goalkeepers under contract at FFC, and he answers our mandate of making our squad the strongest and deepest it can be as we face top Premier League opposition. Come on Fulham!

The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Sergio Rico on loan from Sevilla.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper has agreed a loan deal which keeps him at Craven Cottage until the end of the 2018/19 season.

Rico has made 170 appearances for Sevilla's first team during his career, keeping clean sheets in almost half of those, and has also been capped by Spain at senior level.

Born in Sevilla, Rico joined his local club as a youngster and progressed through the ranks before making his debut at the beginning of 2014/15, going on to make 37 appearances as the club's first choice goalkeeper despite his tender age.

His maiden campaign culminated in a first ever trophy, as he was in goal for Sevilla's 3-2 Europa League Final win against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.

Rico added the same medal to his collection a year later as Sevilla defeated Liverpool 3-1 at FC Basel's St. Jakob-Park.

That proved to be the start of a prosperous summer as it preceded a call-up to the Spain squad for the 2016 European Championship where he was one of three goalkeepers alongside Iker Casillas and David De Gea, making his debut in a warm-up match against South Korea – a 6-1 win for the Spaniards.

Rico made 85 appearances for Sevilla across the following two seasons, the first of which ended in a fourth place finish, and the subsequent featuring a two-legged Champions League knock-out victory over Manchester United.

Commenting after putting pen to paper, Rico said: "I'm very happy, really pleased to have signed for the oldest club in the Premier League.

"I'm excited to start training, to meet all my teammates and, above all, to enjoy the season that starts this Saturday."

Tony Khan added: "I'm excited to announce that Fulham Football Club has signed Sergio Rico on loan from Sevilla. Sergio is a world class goalkeeper, and thus, his services have been in great demand.

Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa agrees £30million deal with Fulham as club confirm Sergio Rico loan signing

The newly-promoted side have made some very strong signings ahead of their first season back in the big time

ulham have wrapped up their summer spending spree landing Sergio Rico on loan and agreeing a deal to sign Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa.

Rico joins the newly-promoted club from Sevilla, while Anguissa is due to sign from Marseille, and will set Fulham back a club-record £30million.

Anguissa finalised a deal with the Cottagers on Deadline Day, and will put pen to paper on a four-year deal.

Reports in France claim the deal was held up due to a disagreement over the payment method, with Fulham wanting to pay the £30million transfer fee in installments, and the Ligue 1 club wanting the money up front.

A compromise was struck between the two teams before Thursday's 5pm deadline.

ico meanwhile was announced as the club's eighth signing of the transfer window, and will provide Fabri and Marcus Bettinelli with competition between the sticks.

"I'm very happy, really pleased to have signed for the oldest club in the Premier League," said Rico, upon signing.

"I'm excited to start training, to meet all my teammates and, above all, to enjoy the season that starts this Saturday."

Fulham sign Sevilla goalkeeper on loan

Fulham have announced the arrival of Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico on a season-long loan deal.

The Cottagers have already signed Fabri from Besiktas this summer but have added competition between the sticks with the arrival of Rico.

Rico has spent his entire career at Sevilla and it's a huge coup for Fulham to convince the Spaniard to move to Craven Cottage.

"I'm very happy, really pleased to have signed for the oldest club in the Premier League," he told the club's official website.

"I'm excited to start training, to meet my teammates and, above all, to enjoy the season that starts this Saturday."

Sevilla have allowed Rico to move to England after signing Basel goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik earlier in the window.

Fulham have been one of the busiest sides on transfer deadline day, with up to five new players expected to be announced on Thursday, including Rico.

The 24-year-old has punched the ball clear more times than any other goalkeeper since the start of the 2016/17 La Liga campaign (44).

However, he lost confidence over the course of last season after turning in several nervy performances, costing him a place in Sevilla's plans for the upcoming campaign.

Fulham have signed goalkeeper Sergio Rico on a season-long loan deal from Sevilla.

The 24-year-old has made 170 appearances for Sevilla, winning the Europa League twice, but lost his position as first choice at the tail-end of last season.

The once-capped Spain international was reportedly interesting several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, before the Blues completed a deal for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Rico is poised to battle with Fabri, who Fulham signed from Besiktas, and incumbent Marcus Bettinelli, for the No 1 jersey at Craven Cottage.

"I'm very happy, really pleased to have signed for the oldest club in the Premier League," Rico told the club's website.

Bryan joins Fulham

Fulham have completed a deal to bring in left back Joe Bryan from Bristol City for a fee believed to be around £6m.

The Whites' swooped for one of the Championship's most impressive full backs last night – which might Bryan's proposed move to beaten play-off finalists Aston Villa collapsed in acrimonious fashion. The Premier League new boys had identified Bryan, who had an excellent season as the Robins narrowly missed out the play-offs, as one of their potential targets earlier in the season and return to sign the 24 year-old after it became clear that Southampton were unwilling to allow Matt Targett leave St. Mary's.

An attack-minded full back, Bryan has made more than 200 senior appearances at Bristol City and famously scored the opening goal as Lee Johnson's side beat Manchester United in the League Cup quarter-final last term. His arrival means that teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon can continue to play as a left winger and Bryan, who was part of the Bristol City side that won promotion from League One and the Football League Trophy in 2014/2015, is in line to make his Fulham debut against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Bryan told Fulham's official website:

Playing against Fulham the last couple of years, the style of play has really stood out to me and it will suit me. The opportunity to play in the Premier League is one you can't turn down as you may never get it again in your lifetime. I'm used to playing fast attacking football, so hopefully I can slot right in.

Fulham's director of football operations, Tony Khan, added:

I'm pleased to announce that Fulham Football Club has signed Joe Bryan. Joe is a gifted young player, and we have seen first hand that he is a fierce competitor in our recent clashes against Bristol City in the Championship. He's a promising addition to the squad, and we are excited to welcome Joe to the club.

The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Joe Bryan from Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.

The left-back has signed a four-year-deal with Fulham, with a Club option to extend by a further year.

Bryan, 24, has established himself as one of the finest left-backs outside the top flight over the last few seasons, helping the Robins enjoy a number of successful campaigns on the pitch.

Born in Bristol, Bryan progressed through City's academy and made his Championship debut in a 3-2 win over Leicester City as an 18-year-old in March 2012.

The following season he played 12 times in the Championship during the first half of the season, prior to a loan switch to Plymouth Argyle, who he helped remain in the Football League.

In his absence, Bristol City had slipped into League One, but in the two seasons that followed he continued his development having established himself as the club's first choice left-back.

After a campaign of consolidation, 2014/15 was a hugely successful one for City, with Bryan scoring seven times in 50 appearances as they won the title with 99 points and claimed the Football League Trophy at Wembley.

In their first campaign back in the second tier, the Robins comfortably avoided relegation, a feat they replicated in 2016/17.

Bryan then played a pivotal role in one of their best ever campaigns. A fantastic start to proceedings saw City establish themselves as promotion contenders, and although they were unable to sustain their league form, they still secured a top half finish.

They really captured the nation's attention in the League Cup, though, when they reached the Semi-Finals.

Having already knocked out Premier League Stoke City and Crystal Palace, Manchester United arrived at Ashton Gate in the Quarter-Final, with Bryan opening the scoring with a stunning strike in a 2-1 win.

The other Manchester side awaited in the last-four, but the eventual winners proved too strong despite a spirited Robins display, with City claiming a 5-3 aggregate win across two legs.

A real fan favourite, Bryan departs his boyhood club having made 230 appearances, during which time he scored 20 goals.

Speaking from Motspur Park after putting pen to paper, Bryan said: "Playing against Fulham the last couple of years, the style of play has really stood out to me and it will suit me.

"The opportunity to play in the Premier League is one you can't turn down as you may never get it again in your lifetime.

"I'm used to playing fast attacking football, so hopefully I can slot right in."

"He's a promising addition to the squad, and we are excited to welcome Joe to the club! Come on Fulham!"

Fulham seal flurry of late deals on Deadline Day

Fulham joined Everton in making the most of Transfer Deadline Day in the Premier League.

The Cottagers absolutely went for it.

Newly-promoted Fulham had already had a superb transfer window after signing Andre Schurrle, Alfie Mawson, Jean Serri, Calum Chambers and Aleksandar Mitrovic, but they kept signing players on deadline day.

Take a look at this lot...

Joe Bryan – Left back arrives in a reported $8 million fee from Bristol City
Sergio Rico – Signed on loan from Sevilla, talented goalkeeper
Andre Zambo Anguissa – Holding midfielder from Marseille set to arrive for club-record $38 million
Luciano Vietto – Argentine striker set to join on loan from Atletico Madrid
Timothy Fosu-Mensah – A season-long loan deal from Manchester United for the versatile Dutch defender, if it goes through in time

If all of these deals are completed then it would mean Fulham have spent over $128 million, more than any other newly-promoted team in a single window in Premier League history.

American owner Shahid Khan doesn't want the bitter taste of relegation from the PL again and he's splashing some serious cash to make sure Slavisa Jokanovic's men don't finish in
