Has Cairney thrown in the towel?

Personally I don't follow social media, not something that floats my boat at the moment. I am just content with a camp fire on top of a hill, a horse blanket and a few smoke signals is all I need.
I could now say there is no smoke without fire, and I can understand the concerns about Tom Cairneys  absence from social media, but we must not read into it too much.
As has already been pointed out, regarding the poor results and performances. There can be a reluctance for players to stick their heads above the parapet in case they mention something which could be misconstrued or taken the wrong way.
It's no problem when your winning and everything in the garden is rosy. Everyone is on a high.
So I can understand to a certain extent why there is a reluctance.
However, if it was me, and I was the Captain, I would come out at any time to address the fans and supporters, why stop because we are losing.
It shows Character, but that's me, that's my nature.
I have been told all my life I am a Leader of men, with Astonishing Charisma, Excellent Social Skills, High Intellect and Handsome looks.
But as a humble man and extremely modest, I tend to allow others to take the spotlight, as I do not wish to steal their thunder.
So for me, there is no reason why TC cannot come out, even if it was to reassure.
Silence can be Golden, but not on this occasion.
You have to stand up and be counted.
"SUCCESS IS HOW HIGH YOU BOUNCE WHEN YOU REACH ROCK BOTTOM".
I hope the Manager and the players are mindful of that advice, which on this occasion is free of charge.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Never forget your Roots.

Lots of motivational Instagram posts by MacDonald, Schurrle etc... but not a sausage from Cairney. No "can't wait to get back on the pitch and help turn this around" etc etc... just silence from our captain.

Cairney tweeted on Friday "Come on today @FulhamFC make my weekend 🙌🏼"

First game: Fulham 4 Burnley 0, December 12th 1998.

Maybe he is more concerned with getting himself fit to play, rather than putting words on social media.

Sadly she wasn't

Would be a fair comment if he wasn't on Soccer AM while recovering the previous week..!

It's because of our results - makes them more vulnerable to abuse. I'm sure the players get education about their use of social media these days.

It's obviously easier to talk about socialising with other players when you're doing well. Now some would probably tweet replies  saying 'why are you lot out drinking, when you should be concentrating on  improving your performances?'

Also, Carney is injured, and there seems a problem with sorting it out - so what is he supposed to say about his recovery. If he talks about going out socialising, some would probably say 'how can you go out when you're supposed to be injured?'

He's posted about injuries in the past. In fact it's one of the things players really commonly post about. Joe Bryan for example posted something this week about his own recovery.

However I think the first point you make, about not posting when the team is losing, is a very good point and admittedly I hadn't considered that.
