Andre Schurrle quizzed on Fulham's FIFA 19 stats by Soccer AM

How well does Andre Schurrle know his Fulham team-mates based on their FIFA 19 stats?

Speaking to Soccer AM's Adam Smith, the creative Fulham attacker is quizzed on the squad's most aggressive player, who is the quickest, and who is the best penalty taker.

Schurrle was speaking ahead of Fulham's trip to Huddersfield on Monday Night Football, live on Sky Sports Premier League from 7pm.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is Fulham's top scorer and one of their highest rated players on the game. His name crops up a lot during the conversation.

Who is the most aggressive?

"When we are losing, Mitrovic can be very aggressive. But in the changing room he is very quiet, off the pitch he is very non-aggressive. He is very calm. He's a very nice guy."
Who is the strongest?

"There is no one stronger than Mitrovic - no chance. When you see him lifting weights, you know it's not possible. I'm lifting about 10-15kgs to work on my biceps and he's lifting double!"
Who will take penalties?

"Mitrovic will be the first to give it a shot when we finally get one - until he misses! He's been practising a lot so he's prepared for when we get one. Maybe they don't know my stats! I can shoot a penalty but my percentage is about 60-40. I like taking them when the opportunity is there I will shoot."

Fulham must repeat Manchester City performance to win crunch Huddersfield clash

It is not often that a defeat without scoring acts as good preparation for a crunch match away against a relegation rival.

But Manchester City are so good and Fulham have been so leaky this season that the 2-0 defeat Slavisa Jokanovic's side suffered in the EFL Cup on Thursday can be viewed in a positive light.

There is plenty to be taken from making the best side in the country – rotated side or otherwise – work hard to get their place in the quarter finals of the competition they are the current holders of, when the season so far has seen Fulham give up too many chances at will.

Fulham were 20/1 to win at the Etihad, so belief was never going to be high among a squad that has struggled so far this season and is still getting used to each other after a host of late-window summer arrivals.

But a performance of the cohesion and spirit repeated at the John Smith Stadium against Huddersfield on Monday night should be enough to get a result against a side who have been woefully impotent thus far.

Jokanovic did an exceptional job in the Championship, but must start resisting the urge to tinker with his backline too much. Yet the City performance showed the players are still with him; now they must show it again to get a result against the Terriers.

Liverpool's Nathaniel Clyne is the perfect solution for Fulham's right back woes

Liverpool's Nathaniel Clyne has not played a single Premier League minute all season at Anfield, and must surely be looking for a way out of the Merseyside club.

With the right back seemingly frozen out at Liverpool, Clyne should target a move to Fulham in order to gain first-team football and help stitch up the Whites' porous backline.

The right back position has been a constant headache for Slavisa Jokanovic all season long, as Fulham have struggled to replace Ryan Fredericks.

Jokanovic has alternated between playing Cyrus Christie and Timothy Fosu-Mensah, yet neither defender has been convincing at the back.

Christie has appeared completely out of his depths in the Premier League, evidenced by his shocking display against Arsenal.

And although Fosu-Mensah has shown encouraging signs of potential, he remains prone to making inexcusable errors at the back, such as his senseless challenge against Bournemouth that led to the Cherries' opening goal on Saturday.

Clyne would offer over five seasons of top-class Premier League experience from his days with Southampton and Liverpool, as well as his England international pedigree.

And at only 27 years of age, the defender still has plenty left in his tank and could be productive for another half-decade at Craven Cottage.

Nathaniel Clyne must end his Liverpool exile and depart for Fulham in January, saving his career and the SW6 defence in the process.
