my team against Southampton would be...

Rico

Christie          Odoi          Mawson          Bryan

Chambers          Seri

Schurrle          Cairney           Sess

Mitro

Subs: Betts, Ream, MLM, Anguissa, Vietto, AK47

I think we did OK against Liverpool, certainly for the 1st half, and Chambers looked a completely different player. Ryan has to play a more attacking role and I can see AK47 coming on later in the game.

I'd switch Anguissa with Seri but agree with the rest.
Difficult to decide who to leave out from bench as would love to see the names like Ayite, Kebano, Johansen, AK47 and even some youngsters who show enthusiasm in trainings

A lot of people picking Joe Bryan, but is he even fit?

GK Rico
RB Odoi, LB Bryan, CB's Mawson & Ream (yes Mawson likes left side but is right footed so shouldn't be an issue on right side)
CDM Chambers
CM Anguissa & Cairney
LM R.Sessegnon, RM Christie
AM/Deep laying striker, Schurrle or Vietto
CF Mitrovic

Ah, the old 4-1-2-2-1-1! Hopefully the ref won't notice...

Ha!!! Got me ... over thought more than 1 side. Unfortunately it would have to be Cairney to miss out from the above.

MrFFC

Cairney should not miss out any team he is easily our best player
Come on you Whites!! :)

The last time Mawson played on the right hand side was against Watford, and was probably the worst individual defensive performance I'd ever seen from a Fulham player. Mawson and Chambers for me, left and right respectively.

With Ranieri in charge I'd like to see something like this (4-4-1-1/4-2-3-1):

Rico
Odoi - Mawson - Ream - Le Marchand
Sessegnon - Cairney - Chambers - Schurrle
Vietto
Mitrovic

Bench: Bettinelli, Christie, Anguissa, Seri, Johansen, Ayite/Kebano & Kamara

With Mitro being the first name on the team sheet I think it'll be vital to have players around him to make runs in behind and provide support, as Ranieri wants his teams to attack with pace. Hopefully Vietto can be that player but if not then AK is ready on the bench. I think Schurrle and Sess on the wings could be our version of Mahrez and Albrighton if all goes well, but it requires more defensive work rate from Schurrle than we have seen so far.

The main worry for me is central midfield. Cairney has to play IMHO but in a 'two' he needs to toughen up and also have a partner that focuses mainly on defending. For me it's a toss-up between Chambers and Anguissa but Chambers should be fired up for a game against his old club. It's also a possibility to play Anguissa, move Chambers to central defence and Ream to the bench.

The full backs are very defensive minded to hopefully keep the back four nice and tight. No more wing backs getting caught out of possession.

Baszab

Can't have TC Schurrle and Vietto in same team - too lightweight

Add Seri to that equation

He played 45 mins. So he won't be match fit and thus shouldn't play.

Brawn

GK S Rico
RB D Odoi
RCB T Ream
LCB A Mawson
LB J Bryan (if fit; if not, Ream to LB and Chambers to CB)
RM A Schurrle
RCM J Seri
LCM T Cairney
LM R Sessegnon
RS A Mitrovic
LS L Vietto

I would love to see Sess play as a 2nd striker. The way he breaks lines and runs off the shoulders I think he'd be super effective.

hovewhite

Didn't Mawson play left side v Watford and he was awful.

He played right side, chambers left, i.e. the wrong way round.

That midfield is far too attacking IMO.

That midfield would get swamped and Sess apart would barely win a tackle. Can almost 100% say that Ranieri won't be going for that.

Facts Not Fiction

No Anguissa or McDonald. Rest are available.
