Our home record against Fulham

Fulham were formed in 1879 as Fulham St Andrew's Church Sunday School F.C., founded by worshippers (mostly adept at cricket) at the Church of England on Star Road, West Kensington (St Andrew's, Fulham Fields). They won the West London Amateur Cup in 1887 and, having shortened the name from Fulham Excelsior to its present form in 1888, they then won the West London League in 1893 at the first attempt.

The club gained professional status on 12 December 1898, the same year that they were admitted into the Southern League's Second Division. They were the second club from London to turn professional, following Arsenal then named Royal Arsenal 1891.

Famous names like Johnny Haynes, Bobby Moore, Rodney Marsh and George Best had been part of the team through the years.

Our first league meeting with Fulham was in Division 2 on March 14th 1914 and it ended in a 2-0 victory for Arsenal. Overall we have played them 27 times at home and Fulham have never won a single game; they have managed just 5 draws and have been outscored 67 to 23.

At the time of writing Fulham's 2018-19 record is W2, D5, L12, GF17, GA43 and they are in 19th place.

I cannot envisage anything other than a victory for Arsenal.

Rangers reportedly interested in Fulham's Kevin McDonald

Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard reportedly sees Kevin McDonald of Fulham as an alternative to Southampton's Steven Davis.

Rangers are interested in signing Kevin McDonald from Fulham in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Record.

It has been reported that Rangers manager Steven Gerrard sees McDonald as an alternative to Southampton midfielder Steven Davis - who earns £60,000 per week as salary, according to The Daily Record.

While the Rangers boss is keen on securing the services of Davis, Gerrard is keeping his options open and has identified McDonald as an alternative to the 33-year-old Northern Ireland international midfielder, according to The Daily Record.

"It's understood Fulham have made it clear they will not be difficult to deal with if McDonald wishes to leave the club next month either on loan or a more permanent deal," adds the report.

Good signing for Rangers?

McDonald is only 30 years of age, and the Scotland international still has a few more years left in him at the top level.

The former Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder will be a very good signing for Rangers in the January transfer window.

With Fulham reportedly open to McDonald to leaving Craven Cottage next month, Rangers will probably not find it tough to make a deal.

Rangers are second in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 42 points from 21 matches, level on points with leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic, who have played a game more.

Long-term Tottenham target Ryan Sessegnon shows why he should stick at Fulham

After coming back from the first major injury of his professional career, Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon has produced two excellent substitute appearances.

As the coveted 18-year-old begins to find his feet in the Premier League, it is clear the comfortable environment of Craven Cottage is a boost to Sessegnon's development.

Sessegnon's recent displays reveal why the winger should remain at Fulham and reject any Tottenham interest for the time being.

After entering the fray with half an hour to go against Wolves on Boxing Day, Sessegnon made an instant impact and smashed home a goal that put the Whites in front.

Another example of the prodigy's uncanny ability to be in the right place at the right time, Sessegnon's intelligence in the six yard box is one of his biggest skills.

And on the weekend versus Huddersfield, Sessegnon slipped Aleksandar Mitrovic through with an inch-perfect through ball for the winning strike.

Both moments showed Sessegnon's Premier League quality, marking a recent uptick in his attacking production under Claudio Ranieri.

As a result of the faith the manager has in him and the support of the crowd and the club as a whole, Sessegnon has flourished in SW6.

All of his success would have been far harder to imagine at Spurs, where his playing time would be severely limited and his rare chances filled with pressure.

Ryan Sessegnon should remain at Fulham for the foreseeable future and continue his impressive development.

Fulham to take action after Aboubakar Kamara suffers racial abuse

Fulham say they will take "the strongest possible action" after Aboubakar Kamara was racially abused on social media following his penalty miss against Huddersfield.

Claudio Ranieri said Kamara disobeyed team orders by seizing the ball and arguing with Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is the club's regular penalty taker, and subsequently missed the late spot kick.

Mitrovic netted in injury time to snap a six-game winless run for Fulham but the victory was marred by abusive posts on Kamara's social media accounts, some of which were racist.

A Fulham spokesperson said: "We are aware that numerous hurtful comments have been posted on Aboubakar Kamara's social media account.

"As a club that prides itself on our respect and civility, we condemn anyone associated with this repulsive activity.

"The club will provide all necessary support to Aboubakar and take the strongest possible action against those responsible."

Fulham boss Ranieri said Kamara disrespected him, the club, his team-mates and the crowd and is considering dropping him for Tuesday's game against Arsenal.

Mitrovic, however, was in a more forgiving mood.

"He's a striker, he's hungry for goals as well, maybe he wanted to score as well and he scored his last penalty," said Mitrovic.

"It's normal. He's young; these kind of things can happen. It's normal.

"You need to take care of each other. We had a bit of an argument but in the end he took the ball and I wished him luck and told him to stay focused and score. That's what he'd do as well.

"If he'd scored I'd have celebrated with him, like I scored. The most important thing is we got the three points and everything is behind us."
