Good signing for Aston Villa?

Fosu-Mensah may be struggling for playing time at Fulham at the moment, but there is no doubt that the 21-year-old is a very good and promising young player.

Blessed with the versatility to operate as a midfielder, a central defender or at right-back, the Netherlands international will enhance the depth of the current Villa squad.

Villa are aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship table this season, and Fosu-Mensah - who earns £65,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com - will enhance the Villans' chances of doing just that.

Fulham and Crystal Palace interested in want away Newcastle United midfielder

Former England youth player spoke after the loss to Manchester United on Wednesday night

There is plenty of interest from Premier League clubs after Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden has spoken of his desire to exit St James' Park

The 23-year-old was linked with a switch away from the Magpies last summer with reports explaining that the former Arsenal man wishes to find a club closer to the south west of England to be nearer to his family.

This morning The Mirror reports Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Fulham are both interested in landing him in the January transfer window.

And speaking in the aftermath of the 0-2 defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday evening, Hayden sought to clarify things.

A move could well be on the cards with the midfielder hopeful that Rafa Benitez will see fit to let him leave the north east in the near future.

"It is unchanged [his desire to leave] and the club have known that from day one," said Hayden after the game, according to ChronicleLive.

"It wasn't going to change. My family, my partner and daughter will always come first.

"Football is football but family is more important.

"The club have had conversations already. Hopefully a solution can be found," he said.

Expanding on his form and hope to find a new club that is closer to his family, Hayden was spoke openly.

"I have made a few mistakes. Some of the supporters will never forgive me for the red card in the Cardiff game. I didn't do it on purpose.

"When I watched it back I thought Josh Murphy had been taking the Mickey in the first half of that game and I wanted to give him a good whack.

"It went too far and I got sent off. I have kept that behind me," he said.

"What happened in the summer happened. I would not change anything in the summer, I'd still do the same things. I just do my job the best I can.

"Some fans might not appreciate me for what I have done or what happened.

"I just have to crack on and do the job I have been given. I must do my best," he explained.

Hayden has started the last three games for Newcastle United.
