Mitro

Fulham need to find a way to keep Mitro next season.  He clearly loves the club and came to us in the Championship.  The problem is that since he came to Fulham, his reputation and standing in the football world has grown a lot.    I know this will be very difficult, but if we can keep him, we can surely go straight back up.   Having said that, I expect someo e will offer us £50M in the summer and we will find that impossible to resist.

People moan about Tony Khans transfers but in Mitro we acquired a gem.  He is still young, has leadership, works his nuts off and is quality.   I also expect Seri to be in demand.  Despite fans getting on his back, football people will see his quality, we will easily get £20M for him, same for Sess and TC.  So if these 4 were sold financially we would be in good shape.  That said, keeping them, esp Mitro will see us in a very strong position to jump straight back.

His stock is high and while Id love him to stay I think we will need to cash in to rebuild.

If we go down, we have already massively overspent to stay up. FFP rules will prevent TK from spending anymore money on players without selling some. Our only hope is if we get big fees for Mitro and Sessegnon.

i think Tony Khan's summer transfers will prove to be wiser than expected, Mitrovoic will make up for quite a few errors and we may have a decent team, provided he doesnt waste money on bad winter transfers (i.e. don't keep us up and also go down in value).

We acquired Mitro because Slavisa contacted him. This was nothing to do with TK finding him getting him  in the door at Fulham.

TK just got the deal done in the Summer.

Wasn't Mitro's signing more down to Slavisa?

Funny how Slav has nothing to do with transfers, except of course it was a good one so it's down to him, then still says he has nothing to do with transfers.

We could easily ask for £30-40m for him.

Someone like Everton could do with Mitrovic, or possibly West Ham if Arnie leaves.

I'd rather he stay, but he deserves better.

As I recall it, late on the last minutes of last January's window, Mitro contacted SJ once again (they had been conversing previously) to advise him his agreed transfer had fallen through because the club concerned hadn't got the money.  By some miracle the loan deal was done before the deadline.  What impressed me about the summer transfer signing was that, despite its lateness in being agreed, we obtained the classy and stylish Serb on a lengthy contract and the absolute knowledge he wanted to play for us.  I have no idea who was responsible for that longevity of commitment from Mitro and I rather doubt any contributor on here knows who or how that deal was done.  What we do know is that Mitro was tried and tested and that Jokanovic never had a doubt about his worth to FFC.

What the situation is now I really do not know.  Mitro continues to give his all, is a fighter and, as he has demonstrated to all of us, a leader too.  I suspect Mitro will be hoping we can get the several wins we need to secure safety and I do not believe he is a player who will, at any stage, give up.  What he is worth in value to FFC is clearly a lot more than whatever price tag you care to name, but I would never begrudge him the opportunity to do the best for himself if we do go down.

No, I am a Fulham fan that grew up near Craven Cottage long before we had any money and average attendance below 7,000; but I like "The Khans" for Fulham. Fulham fans have to realise that 15 teams in "The Championship", 3 teams in "League One" and one team in "League Two" have bigger stadiums than Craven Cottage, so if you want to know what its like without a major investor look to those clubs.

"The Khans" role is to invest in the club and make the right investment decisions. As for investing in the club, "The Khans" have to get full marks for investing money into the team, as they have invest the maximium FFP Rules allow. As for making the right investment decisions, they started out making poor decisions in the Championship, but have improved every season until they got into the EPL when they messed up again.

It seems once in the EPL, they have listened to some poor advisors (proabbly those that advised in the Championship) and made some poor decisions; but Tony Khan has been heavily involved in the decision making process listening to all the advise so should have a good idea where it went wrong and what advise to listen to in the future.

Tony Khan's role is to listen to all the advice, make a recommendation and convince "Mr Khan" to give Fulham the money. He has listened to some poor advisors, but he will get better at selecting advisors as bad advisors get sacked (whoever said buy Anguissa)and good advisors get promoted (whoever said buy Mitrovoic).

Sounds like you are an 'unpaid' Khan PR specialist to me.  The Khans have had one good transfer window (last January) and have an equally questionable record at recruiting managers/coaches.  The art form of anyone holding a high position in a football club is to know and trust your advisors and if the Khans have been remiss in quality testing those advisors after this length of time then they are as guilty as anybody else for the mess.

"Slavisa" contacted Mitrovoic convincing him playing for Fulham that it was a good move for him, while "Tony Khan" contracted his father and asked dad to pay Newcastle $18.5 million+ for Mitrovoic.

The deal probably wouldn't have happened without Slavisa phone call to Mitro; but it definately wouldn't have happended without "The Khans" $18.5 million+ to Newcastle.

I cannot understand how the owners son has avoided being replaced in his current position in the crack Recruitment Unit.

There are three clubs that are smaller and more successful than us this season (including Watford, Burnley & Bournemouth). So, I admit "The Khans" aren't managing Fulham as well as those clubs are managed, but Fulham did outperform 19 bigger clubs last season and "the Khan's investment" in players is a big part of that success. Jokavoic is good, but he only wanted to work at Fulham cause the owners had money to buy players and that "The Khans" were wise enough to select him the Head Coach.

As I said yesterday if we go for a rebuild, no matter how well funded, we ain't coming back up for another few years at least. And when we do we just need another rebuild with the risk of having the same problems we've had this year. We tried that method before and it's been a 5-year nightmare. If I was advising the Khans I'd be saying, Let's just screw FFP next season, keep this team together and come straight back up. If that fails THEN go for a rebuild.
