18 year old French attacker at Fulham this week, currently looking for a club

Towards the end of January, we relayed some news from France that a few Premier League sides, in this case Southampton and Cardiff, were thinking about making a move for Jordan D'Ambrosio.

The young striker, who is currently without a club after running down his contract at Sochaux, appears to be doing a tour of Europe in search of a club, with one of his most recent stops being Fulham.

According to Foot Mercato, the 18-year-old was at the Cottagers' training ground on Tuesday, likely for a trial ahead of Claudio Ranieri's side potentially handing him a deal, but another club, a rather prestigious one in fact, have also come knocking.

The same outlet explain that Sevilla are expected to come forward with an offer of their own, having previously followed the France U17 international's progress.

This means that on top of Southampton, Cardiff and now Fulham, Sevilla add themselves to the long list, which is also said to include Barcelona, of options for the young forward.

Not a bad problem to have, especially after he also turned down Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli ruled out for season after knee surgery

Rehab: Marcus Bettinelli ( Getty Images )

Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli has had knee surgery in a bid to be fit for the start of next season.

The 26-year-old had a minor procedure to fix a longstanding problem this week and he is now set to miss the club's relegation run-in.

Bettinelli has been back-up to Sergio Rico and decided to have surgery to make sure he is fit for August.

Bettinelli, who earned an England call-up last year, last played for Fulham in their shock 2-1 home defeat by Oldham in the FA Cup on January 6.  Fulham have Fabri to act as back-up for Rico for the remainder of the season.

The Cottagers are seven points from safety, with 12 games remaining. They play West Ham at the London Stadium next Friday and new signings Lazar Markovic and Havard Nordtveit are expected to be fit for the game.

The deadline-day arrivals have been building up their fitness this week and are set to be available to make their debuts at the London Stadium.

Boss Claudio Ranieri opted not to take his squad abroad this week as the heat builds on the Italian at Craven Cottage.

Ranieri was given a public show of support by owner Shahid Khan last week, but last Saturday's toothless 3-0 defeat to Manchester United will not have gone down well.

How Newcastle's relegation run-in compares to Cardiff, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Brighton & Burnley

Newcastle currently sit one point above the relegation zone heading into the crucial end of season run-in

Newcastle's survival hopes suffered a cruel blow on Monday as Willy Boly's controversial late equaliser for Wolves cut a potential three point gap between themselves and the bottom three to one.

Things are getting very tight at the bottom, with just three points separating Crystal Palace in 13th and Southampton in 18th.

Newcastle have just two of last season's top six left to play and arguably have the most favourable run-in of all of the relegation threatened sides.

But Rafa Benitez has far too much experience to take things for granted and they sit just one point above the relegation zone heading in to next weekend's clash against Huddersfield.

With that in mind, here's how everyone's run-in compares.

20th: Huddersfield - 11 points

Fixtures:  Newcastle United (A), Wolves (H), Brighton (A), Bournemouth (H), West Ham (A), Crystal Palace (A), Leicester (H), Spurs (A), Watford (H), Liverpool (A), Manchester United (H), Southampton (A)

Verdict: Huddersfield are 14 points adrift of safety so it is almost safe to assume that the Terriers will be playing Championship football next season.

If Huddersfield are to mount an unlikely push for survival they must do it in the next seven games - all against teams outside of the top six.

First up is Saturday's huge clash at St James' Park. A Newcastle win in that game will all but relegate Jan Siewert's side with 11 games remaining.

19th: Fulham - 17 points

Fixtures:  West Ham (A), Southampton (A), Chelsea (H), Leicester City (A), Liverpool (H), Manchester City (H), Watford (A), Everton (H), Bournemouth (A), Cardiff City (H), Wolves (A), Newcastle United (H)

Verdict: Fulham need points and quickly. Unfortunately two tough away games at West Ham and Southampton are followed by three very tough games against Chelsea, Leicester and Liverpool.

The Cottagers are already seven points adrift and after the next five games they could be too far cut adrift from survival to claw it back.

Claudio Ranieri's side could well have a huge bearing on Newcastle's future, with the Magpies taking on Fulham in the final game of the season at Craven Cottage.

18th: Southampton - 24 points

Fixtures:   Fulham (H), Manchester United (A), Spurs (H), Watford (A), Brighton (A), Liverpool (H), Wolves (H), Newcastle (A), Bournemouth (H), West Ham (A), Huddersfield (H)

Verdict : Ralph Hasenhuttl's side have tough games against Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool and Wolves in their run-in so it is difficult to see them building any sort of momentum.

They do have opportunities against the likes of Fulham, Newcastle and Huddersfield but it is going to be a rough route to survival if the Saints are to beat the drop.

17th: Cardiff - 25 points

Fixtures:  Watford (H), Everton (H), Wolves (A), West Ham (H), Brighton (A), Chelsea (H), Manchester City (A), Burnley (A), Liverpool (H), Fulham (A), Crystal Palace (H), Manchester United (A)

Verdict:  Cardiff have a huge opportunity in the next five games to build a head of steam and pull clear of the relegation zone.

Three home games and no games against any of the top six, Neil Warnock's side simply have to take advantage of their next few favourable fixtures.

Cardiff face Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United in their final six games so they could well be in trouble if they are still in the relegation mix heading in to those final six matches.

16th: Newcastle - 25 points

Fixtures:  Huddersfield (H), Burnley (H), West Ham (A), Everton (H), Bournemouth (A), Arsenal (A), Crystal Palace (H), Leicester (A), Southampton (H), Brighton (A), Liverpool (H), Fulham (A)

Verdict : Like Cardiff, Newcastle have a huge chance in the next five games to pull clear of the drop zone.

Home games against basement side Huddersfield and relegation rivals Burnley represent a massive chance for six points, while a home clash against out of form Everton is most wercome.

Add to that, Newcastle have games against fellow relegation rivals Palace, Southampton, Brighton and Fulham and the Magpies arguably have the easiest run-in of the runners and riders in the relegation battle.

On the flipside, defeats against any of those teams will prove so costly as not only are they failing to pick up points, they are losing points to rival teams.

Lose too many of those games and Newcastle will be bang in trouble. But Rafa Benitez has a very good record as Newcastle boss against teams around them and if he can continue that then Newcastle should have enough to survive.

15th: Burnley - 27 points

Fixtures:  Spurs (H), Newcastle (A), Crystal Palace (H), Liverpool (A), Leicester (H), Wolves (H), Bournemouth (A), Cardiff (H), Chelsea (A), Manchester City (H), Everton (A), Arsenal (H)

Verdict: Burnley have enjoyed a superb start to 2019 and Sean Dyche's side have managed to establish a three point gap between themselves and the bottom three as a result.

If they continue their current run of form they will be fine, but they certainly have one of the tougher run-ins.

Home games against Crystal Palace, Leicester and Cardiff will be seen as 'must wins', while away games at Newcastle and Bournemouth will also be seen as opportunities for points.

The Clarets face three top six sides in their final four games so if they haven't pulled clear of the drop zone before that point, they could well be in danger of dropping into the Championship.

14th: Brighton - 27 points

Fixtures:  Chelsea (A), Leicester (A), Huddersfield (H), Crystal Palace (A), Cardiff (H), Southampton (H), Tottenham (A), Bournemouth (H), Wolves (A), Newcastle (H), Arsenal (A), Manchester City (H)

Verdict : Brighton have been on an alarming slide down the Premier League table. After a stunning start to the season, the Seagulls have won just one of their last 11 games and they have been dragged back into the relegation battle.

Home games against Cardiff, Southampton and Newcastle will be huge but three away games at Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal and a final day visit of Manchester City means the Seagulls have a very tough run-in.

13th: Crystal Palace - 27 points

Fixtures:  Leicester (A), Manchester United (H), Burnley (A), Brighton (H) Huddersfield (H), Newcastle (A), Manchester City (H), Arsenal (A), Everton (H), Cardiff (A), Bournemouth (H)

Verdict: A four game run of Burnley, Brighton, Huddersfield and Newcastle will be huge for Palace's survival prospects.

A tough April with games against City, Arsenal and Everton could reel Roy Hodgson's men back in to the mire but the final two games against Cardiff and Bournemouth is a lot milder than others.

It's certainly a less daunting run-in than some of their rivals and the Eagles should have enough quality to survive.

Make Sure You Do This – Fulham Legend Gives Cottagers Advice On Tackling West Ham

The Cottagers currently sit second from bottom and are eight points adrift of Cardiff City, who sit just above the relegation zone, ahead of Southampton.

And ahead of their crucial derby meeting with West Ham next week, Gale has insisted the Hammers will always give chances to their opponents during games.

The Fulham legend urged the Cottagers to make the most out of the chances and insisted they could reap the benefits if they manage to remain not too open at the back and make brave decisions while going forward.

"I've seen probably as much of West Ham this season as I have Fulham. West Ham will always give you a chance", Gale wrote in his column for the club's official website.

"In the game at Craven Cottage we had an excellent first half and should have been winning, but found ourselves 2-0 behind because we missed several chances.

"[Crystal] Palace had 25 chances against West Ham's six at the weekend, yet West Ham with their quality going forward managed to score.

"We don't want to be too open but we certainly have to offer more going forward, because West Ham will give you that chance, without a doubt."

Fulham have shipped the highest amount of goals in England's top flight this term after conceding 58 goals in 26 games so far this season.

Norwich Opinion: Would Ibrahima Cisse be a good signing for Norwich?

Fulham midfielder Ibrahima Cisse has not been able to make much of an impact in the Premier League as he would have liked to. The 24-year-old midfielder has played just three Premier League games so far and remains well behind the likes of Jean Michael Seri, Calum Chambers, Tom Cairney and André-Frank Zambo Anguissa in the pecking order.

The Guinea international's career has stalled somewhat since moving to Craven Cottage from Standard Liege in 2017. Taking everything into account, it would be the best option for Ibrahima Cisse to consider his future at Fulham in the summer, with the club looking very likely to head back to the Championship.

Norwich City must take advantage of Fulham's situation and make a move for Ibrahima Cisse in the summer transfer window.

The Canaries find themselves second on the Championship table, pushing for promotion this season after an impressive campaign in which they have played some excellent football. Daniel Farke has surprisingly made Norwich a firm contender for promotion by bringing in the right type of players and making the team play an exciting brand of football.

Although there's still a long way to go, Farke and co. should start planning from now for the 2019/20 campaign. Defensive midfielder Alex Tettey has been a great servant for Norwich but he'll turn 33 in April.

The Ghana-born star has shown signs of slowing down and the summer transfer window would be the ideal time for Farke to sign Tettey's long-term replacement. To put things into perspective, Norwich City should make the signing of Ibrahima Cisse a priority.

Standing at 6ft, Cisse is a defensive midfielder with an incredible engine, known for his hard-tackling and intercepting skills. He is someone who not only has the ability to retain the ball and pick out the correct pass but he can win back possession for his team as well.

The 24-year-old's amazing stamina and work rate would be ideal alongside Moritz Leitner or Mario Vrancic in the midfield, and may just leave Tettey sweating over his role if Farke does land the Guinea international in the summer.

Verdict

Hence, it would be fair to say that the Canaries will look a very strong unit with Vrancic, Leitner, Trybull and Cisse as options in central midfield. That said, they should go all out to sign Cisse from the relegation-threatened Fulham.
