Fulham make initial approach for Leicester City defender

According to a report from Football Insider, Fulham have made an enquiry regarding the possibility of signing Leicester City defender James Justin on loan in the January transfer window.

Full-back James Justin joined Leicester City from Championship side Luton Town in the summer transfer window, joining in a £10 million deal from the Hatters. Since making the move, Justin has found first-team opportunities somewhat hard to come by at the King Power Stadium.

He has been forced to play second fiddle to Portuguese star Ricardo Pereira, who has been in electric form under Brendan Rodgers so far this season. The 21-year-old has made no Premier League appearances so far, with his only games coming in the EFL Cup against Luton Town and Burton Albion, netting once.

Now, it has been claimed that Fulham could look to offer him some more first-team football, with the Cottagers reportedly making an enquiry over a possible loan move for Justin ahead of the January transfer window.

Heading into the second half of the season, Fulham boss Scott Parker is keen to bolster his full-back options and Justin is one of the players on his radar. At his disposal at the moment, Scott Parker currently has the likes of Denis Odoi, Cyrus Christie and youngster Steven Sessegnon at right-back, with Joe Bryan the only left-back option.

Justin played as both a left-back and right-back for Luton Town in his 114 appearances for the club, featuring mainly on the left-hand side as the Hatters won promotion to the Championship earlier this year.

It will be interesting to see if Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City allow Justin to leave on loan to pick up some more minutes, or if they keep him as a back-up option to Ricardo Pereira.

We Are Premier League

Can't see that happening, he is their only backup RB, big clubs are chasing two of their defenders and his versatility is great for them.

In terms of backups, Leciester's weakest positions is right back (i.e. James Justin), so if Leicester reinforces by adding reserve ready for Champions League next year then I can definitely see James Justin move to Fulham happening in certain conditions.

Flynn Downes , Ipswich Town midfielder being watched by Fulham apparently.

Let´s tell Villa they can FO with any idea that they can get Mitro at any price. The Brum garbage press have started tapping him up.

Fulham interested in Ipswich Town midfielder

According to a report from TWTD, Championship outfit Fulham have been keeping a close eye on Ipswich Town's young midfielder Flynn Downes in the early stages of the season.

It has been reported by TWTD that ahead of the January transfer window, Ipswich Town midfielder Flynn Downes has been watched over by Championship promotion hopefuls Fulham. The Cottagers' preparations for the January transfer window are well underway and with Chelsea defender Michael Hector already on his way to the club, Fulham could look to add some more in January.

So much more important that we ensure we don't lose players in January than that we bring in new players.

Teams like Villa, Newcastle, Watford and Newcastle or even Arsenal  and Leeds could well be thinking of Mitro and Cairney as players to give them a big boost.

Agree we need to hold on to key players, but if we are serious about promotion this year then it might be a good thing to bring in at least one prem standard player so he can bed in. One of our past problems has been too many late signings trying to all bed in together. You just can't expect to do that in your first season back in the prem.

ABSOLUTELY——- if we are lucky enough to attain Premiership standard we will definitely need a least two more proven quality players (not from France). Must have enough going in to stay in!!
The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.

We need to start and close out games better, so I would strongly suggest buying an non-inverted (ie real) left winger that can defend a bit. Ivan Calverio can play on either side, but is better on the right where he should start most games, so Kamara and Knockaert can be super-subs which will end games better.

So, I assume when Mitrovoic or Odoi were playing in Belgium you wouldn't have bought them.

To be fair, I thought Mitrovic was going to be a bit of a flop when we signed him.......We do get it wrong sometimes.

Fulham on Monday night scouting mission – Ricardo Horta looks a reasonable target

Although Braga aren't normally a club who attract a lot of scouts from other countries, their game against Rio Ave brought several officials to their stadium last night.

One of the emissaries at the game works for Fulham, according to newspaper A Bola, although his target in this match isn't reported.

Braga were the favourites for this clash and didn't disappoint the home fans, winning the game 2-0, with goals scored by Paulinho and Ricardo Horta. But more players impressed for the home side, especially Pablo Santos, Nuno Sequeira and Fransérgio.

Fulham and Braga definitely have a good communication since they've worked on the transfer of Rui Fonte to the Portuguese side last summer.

The striker was brought on in the second half, and made an assist for the second goal, and there's no suggestion Fulham were watching him, and no reason for them to do so.

The game also had scouts from Eintracht Frankfurt, Montpellier, Sampdoria, Atalanta, Bournemouth, Brighton and Genk.

Ricardo Horta looks like a reasonable target, although he extended his contract in September.

Wow Mick McCarthy is out and Paul Lambert in at Ipswich. Yes, I been living under a rock. MM I rate really quite highly, and yes I am serious.

It would be interesting to know what is on Parker's mind as the January window approaches. Obviously he must be intent on keeping Mitro and Cairney but then:-
Pick up a couple of young players with promise at  bargain prices who will provide cover for critical positions like left back.

Or
Be prepared to spend big money on a couple of proven players who can immediately come into our team and transform it from a possible top six outfit into an automatic promotion winning team.

toshes mate

Can understand the interest in Flynn Downes if Johansen is going to be out of action for a while having his knee repaired.  However, I still believe the flank partnerships suggest we may need to look for decent options on right and left either as cover or better fits.  Much depends upon how SP feels about his current squad options and who he thinks has done enough to prove themselves.  But we could do without injudicious purchases/loans please.

Lots of Villa fans on twitter banging on about how Mitro would suit them perfectly like they can just take him if they so pleased.

I would be livid if Mitro was playing for Villa.

No problem give us £85m for Mitro the same price as Lukaku.
