and not choosing players who've necessarily done the best for us - who would be our best starting 11 (since Al Fayed bought the club) if you took each player we signed at the peak of their powers as a player and put them in the same team?

Finnan
Christanval?
Berbatov?
Litmanen?
Van Der Saar
Mahamadou Diarra
Murphy?
Saha?
Dembele (Belgian)

Karl Heinz Riedle gets in ahead of Berbatov and litmanen.
CHRIS MARTIN IS SO BAD,  WE NOW PRAISE HIM FOR MAKING A RUN.

fulhamben

Andy Cole probably makes the second striker alongside Riedle as well

If you are thinking strikers it is a straight choice between Saha and McBride joined by Boa surely.

if I'm reading the thread correctly, it's the best players throughout their career and not on how they actually performed for us.

2 left backs statto?

Magath is manager so there's bound to be a couple in odd positions

Not if you are them at the height of their powers regardless of which club they were playing for at the time. ( which is my understanding of the OP's question. In that case Cole and Riedle is a decent shout.

I'm shocked McBride and Dempsey aren't on the list for most...
Someone once asked me, "Why Fulham?".
My response, "Well, lad, you just haven't seen the light yet"

because it's not what they did for us, but who was better at the height of their powers regardless of the club they were at. McBride isn't a patch on a Berbatov, Cole, Riedle or jari when they were all at their peak

I almost agree with that line up but in my view Rufus Brevett was just as good as Wayne Bridge and I can't allow the selection to go by without a mention of Brian McBride and Boa so I will bring those two on at half time to replace Cole  and Steed.

Id say Montella has a shout too!

Depends on the qualities you are using to judge players. I would say that Berbatov isn't even fit to clean McBrides boots.

As a favourite, I'd have Rufus every time but "peak of powers", not necessarily his time with us, has to be Bridge for me. Similarly, much as I'm a big fan of Boa and McBride, Steed was a truly great player and Cole's time at Newcastle and Man Utd make him a shoe in.

paul Parker was much better than Finnan (I hate Parker by the way) and Philip Albert would possibly get in as a Center back too
