Attack Fulham, This Is Three Points Chance, Former Leeds Star Urges Whites

Dominic Matteo has told Leeds United they need to attack Fulham this afternoon as the clash against the Cottagers is the perfect chance for them to pick up three points.

Marcelo Bielsa's side marked their 16-year exile from the top table of English football with a superb showing at champions Liverpool last weekend and despite being on the wrong end of a seven-goal thriller, the Argentine will have been encouraged as he saw his men put three past Reds shot-stopper Alisson at Anfield.

The Whites went into the game with a Premier League inexperienced centre-back pairing in club new boy Robin Koch and 21-year-old Pascal Struijk, as skipper Liam Copper was ruled out due to injury.

However, Leeds are set to square off against familiar foes in their next top flight outing as they welcome fellow Premier League new boys Fulham to Elland Road on Saturday, and Matteo is of the view that the home fixture is perfect for Leeds to put up their first three points on the league table.

Matteo is keen to see Leeds get at Fulham as they chase victory.

"Fulham will set out to be a lot more defensively sound against Leeds and Scott Parker is a good young coach, he's been up against Bielsa a few times and will know United's main strengths", Matteo wrote in his Yorkshire Evening Post column.

"What we've seen is that people can work other teams out very quickly.

"But this is an opportunity for Leeds' first three points of the season.

"They need to attack games like this and go for it, without being silly defensively.

"If I was a player I would be marking this game in my head as a game we could win.

"There are games you look at and think a point would be a good result but this is definitely one they could win."

Leeds will start as favourites to see off Fulham, but the Cottagers are also still looking for their first points of the season.

Fulham man is 'new name' on club's list of targets – Agent held meeting at club HQ

Fulham midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa is a potential target for AC Milan, who are keen to add another midfielder to their squad.

The Italian side have already completed a move for highly-rated Sandro Tonali from Brescia this summer but are keen to add another alongside him.

They have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea's Tiemoue Bakayoko, who spent time on loan at the club earlier in his career, while Arsenal's Lucas Torreira is another who has been named as a target.

However, according to Sky Sport Italia, the 'new name' on their list of potential signings is that of Anguissa.

The midfielder has returned to Fulham from a successful loan spell with Villarreal last year but has been linked with a move away, despite featuring in the defeat to Arsenal on the opening weekend.

Sky state that there was a meeting between Anguissa's agent and AC Milan at Casa Milan 'in recent days' and that means he could become a 'concrete option' if they can find an agreement on the 'formula and figures' with Fulham.

CalcioMercato back all this up, also stating that there was a recent meeting with his agent about a potential move.

They, though, explain that the option of signing the Fulham man has arisen as a result of the 'stalemate' with Chelsea regarding Bakayoko.

That has led those in charge at Milan to look at alternatives, and Anguissa is one of them, alongside Florentino Luis at Benfica and Boubakary Soumaré at Lille.

Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to talk regarding Juan Foyth's future

Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have flocked to a post from @ASpursyPodcast which relayed the news that Fulham are interested in signing defender Juan Foyth.

According to The Athletic's Peter Rutzler, the Cottagers are interested in making a move to sign Foyth on a permanent deal.

The Lilywhites signed the 22-year-old back in August 2017 from Estudiantes in a deal reportedly worth £11.7m (as per Transfermarkt). During his time with the club so far, he has made 32 appearances for the first team, chipping in with one goal.

The post seemed to imply that a potential Foyth departure would be a good thing, having asked, 'Can this day get any better?' – presumably in relation to Spurs' possible double swoop for Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon – before declaring, 'Get him out'.

Foyth was limited to just seven appearances in all competitions for Spurs last season and therefore it could be argued that he needs to move in order to start playing regular football. The fans continued to make their feelings known in the replies.

The centre-back, for the time being at least, remains a Tottenham player – but based on the speculation regarding his future and the fact he played very little football last season, it may not be long before Foyth is wearing another team's colours.
